Honestly, any time I’ve ever told a female friend I think her bf isn’t treating her well, IE that she shouldn’t go home from each date in literal tears, I’m the problem. Most women I know fiercely reject any less than positive comment about their man, no matter what is going on. I try SO hard to avoid giving feedback to women about relationships, cuz the truth will lose me that friend either when I say it, or when she gets back together with his smelly ass after the breakup.

I still remember when my roommate (who's legitimately one of the most stunningly beautiful women I've ever seen in the entire world) had a facetime call with her new boyfriend of a few months to meet his friends and he literally was just showing her off and talking to his friends the whole call, objectifying her, they were doing it back and forth like she wasn't even on the call. Toward the end of my last r-ship, there was a huge energy shift that occurred at the end of a visit where I had met one of the guy's two closest friends. I'd met the other closest friend prior and he obviously liked me, but I got weird/bad vibes off of guy 2. This is so important, cause imo, even if we have formed a sisterhood with other women, we still need to avoid seeking validation from anywhere but within. We can be friends and help each other out, but we still need to trust our own gut and intuition about what we think is right and wrong for ourselves, like at the individual level, instead of seeking approval from others, even our closet friends or mentors.

This applies to FDS as well. We share similar values, but we won't agree on everything. We are individuals at the end of the day.
