Wanted to unpack another dating myth which is that: "women's value is (depreciating) looks and men's is resources .

Silly for a lot of reasons.

One of which is that women are HIGHLY desired. Of course the most beautiful are the most sought after (duh, the most handsome men are the most sought after too). But men are desperate for women. All ages. All body types. Men chase women in nursing homes. Men spend money just to look at women. Men chase women who are running into wal Mart at 3 in the morning wearing sweatpants and a hoodie with no makeup on. Men want women. All kinds of women. So women's value isn't looks, it's...just being women.

But second of all, resources are NOT men's capital.

Anymore.

It definitely used to be. And I see why they're clinging to it. It was a system that served them well for a long time. Before we had the option of financial freedom, generations of women have had no choice but to seek refuge in men. The exchange of youth and beauty for a provider ensured that even the most repulsive men were able to have lovely wives. And women really did have a ticking clock, a short window to find a provider.

Those days are gone.

And men feel it, even if they're not fully aware of the gravity of that change yet.

So (in response to their slipping value), men have unintentionally but collectively come up with a new form or capital: providing validation. Their approval and praise (and lack of praise) is their currency.

Which only works on pickmes and lvw but is worthless to high value women.

Have you ever been in a situation where a man is practically begging at your feet for a chance with you and then upon your rejection he calls you ugly?

That is one demonstration of this phenomenon. It's a desperate man's attempt to grasp at power in the dating market. He wants his validation to mean something to you. It's the only power he holds over you.

This is also why they are so obsessed with picking apart women, scrutinizing even the most beautiful of us. They're banded together in this because it's their weak attempt at having power.

What they don't realize (because they are low value) is that all of that dating market stuff is ultimately silly. Because the only actual way to have value on the dating market is to be a high value person. Being high value is genderless. It's about being a quality human.

But also, that "power" they're holding is becoming obsolete anyway. Women are waking up to tactics like negging.

My final point is that all of this is yet another reminder that when it comes to dating, partner selection and relationships women really do run it all and have so much more power than we've been conditioned to believe.
