Given that in heterosexual couples women commit more domestic violence and lesbian relationships are far more violent than gay male relationships that gender seems to be female.

[–]rebuildingMyself 220 points221 points222 points 9 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

They are more violent because they know they are far more likely to get away with it

[–]TracyMorganFreeman 88 points89 points90 points 9 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Or at least have come to think their violence is genuinely less harmful.

[–]orcscorper 79 points80 points81 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They don't even think it's violence.

[+]dvariables points 9 years ago* [recovered] (7 children) | Copy Link

Its both.

  1. Women think their violence is harmless or justified. (I've been slapped before because I was right in an argument and was an asshole about it. If I did the exact same slap with the exact same force and for the exact same reason as hers, I'd be in prison.)

  2. Men report violence MUCH LESS or not at all. If a girl slaps a guy, chances are that he is not going press charges because it's frowned upon for a male to get a female in trouble over something that to society is trivial.

Maybe we should start. It would send a message to abusive women that they are not exempt.

They do:

In 2014, equal proportions of men and women reported being victims of spousal violence during the preceding 5 years (4%, respectively).

This translated into about 342,000 women and 418,000 men across the provinces.

[–]notacrackheadofficer 46 points47 points48 points 9 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

Someone who reads blueprints, follows NYC building code, which demands .01 foot accuracy, hauls lumber and steel all day, and installs such materials to these exacting standards, is a ''dumb construction worker'' who ''doesn't even have a real job''.

[–]GCMythix 36 points37 points38 points 9 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

Exactly, zero respect for who makes their lives easy as hell. I'm a rancher in Texas, but to them I'm a dumb farm hick.

[–]brutallyhonestharvey 17 points18 points19 points 9 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I think this is more a societal than gender or feminist issue though. People who work trades or agriculture get thought of as dumb even though those are demanding and highly technical fields. Some of the smartest people I've ever met were tradesmen or farmers.

[–]Mild111 24 points25 points26 points 9 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

But y tho?

I mean, Oprah can, on national fucking TV, get a standing ovation for saying "Motherhood is the hardest job on the planet"

There's an agenda behind making the most necessary jobs on the planet look like stooge jobs and grunt work.

I have never said this before, but I call bullshit. If you can keep a farm full of life growing and healthy, each species of plant and animal, with different diets, allergies, poison reactions, weather accommodations, some requiring care at dawn, some nocturnal..and not a single fucking one of these life forms understands the English language....supposedly you're a dumb fucking grunt..and we're supposed to believe that a human caring for 1-3 smaller, manipulatable, humans is the toughest job on planet Earth?!

I have the ultimate respect for my mother...but then again she was a single mother who still nailed down a full-time grunt job on top of caring for me...some of these women nowadays skate by on welfare and child support and expect to win awards for their kids not ending up dead, in jail, or on the stripper pole.

It's not rocket science to teach your kids to be decent fucking human beings and keep them fed and entertained. Where it all goes wrong is when kids see every fucking day of their life, that mom's a piece of lazy disrespectful shit and gets away with it, so they shouldn't have to be a respectable mouth breather.

[–]brutallyhonestharvey 7 points8 points9 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I see where you're coming from, but I think the issue goes beyond feminism (which is undoubtedly a contributor to the viewpoint that trades and farmers are dumb) as society as a whole often sees it that way. The whole education system is geared towards college, and it is failing everyone as a result. Idk if I'd argue motherhood is the hardest job on the planet, but it's certainly an important one (so is fatherhood, equally). The farm animals vs. kids argument is a bit of an apples and oranges one though. Different needs and methods.

[–]Mild111 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

I wasn't arguing that it wasn't an important job, I'm saying that it's not rocket science.

We're talking about jobs that are difficult for the brain and the muscle. Motherhood requires a ton of patience and understanding, but I would not argue that it requires much of a brain (intellect) or muscle to do successfully. The fact that the two jobs are apples and oranges is exactly why I picked it as a comparison. What these people are calling a "hard as job" vs. "mindless grunt work"

[+]brutallyhonestharvey -7 points-6 points-5 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Motherhood requires a ton of patience and understanding, but I would not argue that it requires much of a brain or muscle to do successfully.

You obviously don't have kids. Lugging even an 8 pound baby around all the time requires a substantial amount of muscle. My wife's neck is fucked up from lugging the kids around, and my ankle is as well from carrying car seats. Going anywhere with kids is a lesson in logistics and planning and requires a reasonable amount of brainpower. Parenting is a hard job for both parents, perhaps not the most difficult out there, but it's not the cakewalk you claim it to be. I have all the respect in the world for mothers and fathers, as I have with tradespeople and farmers.

[–]Mild111 8 points9 points10 points 9 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

Do you even understand the comparison?

Ask your wife how well her neck would feel changing wheels on an over the road truck all day....or lifting feed sacks for farm animals...

Oh, logistics for a family outing is so hard? Try doing it for shipments on an entire region?

Yes, Parenthood requires some of a brain and some lifting....but it pales in comparison to even the simplest of manual workplaces.

[–]CatOnKeyboard4Dayz 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The toughest job on earth, by fatalities, are phone poll repair workers, combat soldiers, and firefighters. The most demanding jobs are farming, construction, and special service jobs. All of which feminists claim to be full of "toxic masculinity".

[–]JebberJabber 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If a woman has a solid history of performing those "toxic masculinity" - encouraging jobs well then I'd be interested to hear her opinion on which bits of masculinity are toxic and what should be done about it. Otherwise, not so much.

[–]notacrackheadofficer 13 points14 points15 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. ''Durrr horses and cattle are like having a kitten for a pet. You don't even need books and knowledge or anything! You just feed them and hang out the rest of the day.''
LOL no.
I have big respect for you, as a fellow hard working guy.

I remember when that farmer held an AMA a few years back.

Reddit, home of the neckbearded armchair expert who jealously guards the sacred domain of STEM, was strangely quiet when someone they'd written off as white trash or a redneck or a general hick would demonstrate and apply knowledge of chemistry, geology, technology, biology, meteorology, hydrology, and just about any other -ology you care to name.

[–]GraveRaven 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Troubleshooter11 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not sure how it is in Texas but here in the Netherlands farmers practically need college / university degrees just to navigate through shit tons of paperwork, rules and regulations. It is not an easy job and farmers/ranchers deserve our respect for being the very foundation of all civilizations. It is the one job that, if you were to remove it, would undo thousands of years of progress and make us revert to wandering hunter-gatherers.

Correct me if i am wrong but i can not think of any other profession that has such a massive impact on society / civilization.

Liberalsim seems to be a word that can mean anything at any time. I'm a 70s NYC anarchist punk who likes Patti Smith.
I sort of agree. College people are brainwashed into a superiority mindset.
I guess that could be a wing of liberalism.

[–]ThelemaAndLouise 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

well right, classical liberalism is a pretty great thing, and it can mean a lot of things. I just mean the current face of the behemoth

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't forget that Mothers and Mother-only homes are both statistically and in practice more likely to be fucked up.

[–]Cagg 8 points9 points10 points 9 years ago* (13 children) | Copy Link

Wait. In heterosexual couples, women commit more DV?

Do you have a citation for that?

Not that I think women are less violent. I think we're equally violent or damn near close. I've have seen the data on lesbian couples being far more violent than straight or homosexual men but i think that you can't say women specifically are violent based on that as it isn't accounting for the lesbian variable.

Edit: Citation was given and it's legitimate. Cheers /u/DRU-ZOD1980.

Thank you very much. Besides the narrow age range of 18–28 this is a solid study. and by all means, the narrowness of the age range does not discount this study much.

[–]lostvanquisher 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Actually, it does. Even if the methodology is rock solid, you can't generalize the conclusions to a population you haven't sampled from. That said, it gives you a good idea of where to start looking.

[–]Cagg 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

What i mean to say is it's a limitation, but not a systematic flaw or something.

Like if all participants were only 18-year-olds it'd be waaaay too limited.

Obviously we cant make an assumption on a couple in their 40s with this study.

18-28 is a decent age range and it assuredly sets the groundwork for more work.

In 2014, equal proportions of men and women reported being victims of spousal violence during the preceding 5 years (4%, respectively). This translated into about 342,000 women and 418,000 men across the provinces. Similar declines in spousal violence were recorded for both sexes since 2004.

Source: Statistics Canada. Spousal violence in Canada

"Equal proportions"? Looks like 20% more male victims to me.

[–]Cagg 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

It could be equal proportional to population density? It could be 5% of (all women) vs (all men) in Canada is N/n.

Idk why you are quoting to me.

[–]SigmundFloyd76 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

In heterosexual couples, women commit more DV? Do you have a citation for that?

I quoted the crucial line as a tl;dr from the Stats Can study.

[–]Cagg 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Ah, the placement of the comment confused me. It was further down the comment chain so after I had received data and a citation and i was applauding the solid research, but thank you for extra data on the topic.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to see the data set(?) on that population so it makes it hard to evaluate it appropriately.

Although given the source it seems trustworthy

French: la violence (fem), Italian: Violenza (fem), Spanish: la Violencia (fem)

It's not masculine in any language I know of.

[–]Rabid_Pink_Princess 196 points197 points198 points 9 years ago* (35 children) | Copy Link

I'm italian, and I studied dumb feminist academics, which say that these negative words, like Violenza (violence), have the female gender, because patriarchy created the language, and men associated negative things to female words, in order to denigrate women. While appreciated ideas like coraggio (courage) and onore (omore) are male words to glorify men. Obviously they don't give a fuck about all the words which totally debunk this analysis.

So, yes, they already adressed it with their bullshits.

[–]Treeclimber3 60 points61 points62 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Then how do those feminists explain words like saggezza and libertà? Those're feminine, right? (I don't know Italian; I'm just assuming these words are feminine, as they are in Spanish.)

[–]heimdall_ 89 points90 points91 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

yes those are fem. words, they are probably ignored since they don't fit their narrative.

[–]dipper94 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think you mean alternative facts

[–]Rabid_Pink_Princess 47 points48 points49 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

As I said they tend to ignore those words, but I remember I asked exactly saggezza to a feminist teacher. She answered that words like saggezza -> wisdom, calma -> quiet and some other words, are female words, because they are associated to virtues that are considered weak according to the stereotypes of manly strength. Yet... forza -> strength is a female word. XD

[–]nombre1 8 points9 points10 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

And like boats, women cost the men in their life thousands of dollars in upkeep. Though the bigger women aren't always as well-loved as the bigger boats.

And like boats, women cost the men in their life thousands of dollars in upkeep.

And in your life, you spend thousands of hours pushing feces through your anus.

Only if you don't learn to appreciate the humor and pleasure in life's unavoidable events. I enjoy the company of good women, but I recognize the actual and potential social, emotional , and fiscal costs associated with that companionship. Similarly, you can enjoy owing a boat or a fast car, even while you pay for its maintenance.

Edit: Some people enjoy working on and repairing classic cars. They see the value in the work. Others prefer to simply know that things will work as expected. Different strokes engine pun intended for different folks.

I get what you're saying. For a moment there, you came across as one of our less helpful members though. "Grr, women evil!" is a view rooted in emotion that, while sometimes understandable, is ultimately unproductive, and generates the quotes that places take out of context to malign the whole movement.

Yeah, in France too we got some of that. People are trying to contest the neutral use of the masculine, or "Why in a group with both men and women do we use masculine?". This kind of stuff. I don't give a damn fuck, because it's just grammar and its rules, it's not sexism, and until now a majority of people were like me, but I fear all the "new wave feminism" or SJWs crap coming from North America that may hit Europe soon.

[–]SchalaZeal01 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, in France too we got some of that. People are trying to contest the neutral use of the masculine, or "Why in a group with both men and women do we use masculine?"

Yet, in French here in Quebec, they'll say the masculine and the feminine form for most everything, including stuff 97% male like construction work (travailleurs et travailleuses de la construction). And then call nurses 'infirmières' (90% female), and daycare workers 'éducatrices en garderie' (probably 97%+ female).

Funny enough, in a study about how to get more men in nursing, they noted that the use of gendered words, like making nurse gendered female, was a factor in not having as many men interested. And they still do it gleefully, at the government level, on TV and in newspapers.

People know the male form is neutral, but they don't think the female form is. So when they hear nurse gendered female, it implies 100% female.

[–]MRA-automatron-2kb 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm so sick of hearing about feminism on the Quebec pop culture shows and seeing the male celebrities worshiping the female hosts and feminism.

I'm studying at the university to become a primary school teacher, in Italy you have to obtain a specific master's degree in order to teach to children in public schools. We are almost females only tho (98% of students) and the feminist propaganda is insane.

[–]ZyxStx 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Looool I read a feminist post changing a bunch of words from male to female gender (they werent bad words nor really sex specific words, just gendered in spanish)

[–]atred 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's total bullshit, in Romanian for example "onoare" (honor) is feminine, "curaj" (courage) is neuter. Has nothing to do with concepts of positive or negative.

[–]ChronosTheDestroyer 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I thinked that in Italy we were safe from this, can you elaborate more on your experience? I'm genuine curious

Was it an isolated case? What and where did you study? How was it received by other student?

[–]Rabid_Pink_Princess 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I study at the university to become a primary school teacher (Scienze della formazione primaria), we are 98% women, the feminist propaganda in insane, even when they teach a subject totally non-related with genders. Many female sad teachers are really trying to force feminism in our minds, talking about how men oppress women, they even accused me of internalized misoginy more than once (becaue I can't help but comment every time I disagree).

They ask us to demonize traditional gender roles (especially the female one) when we teach to children, and to encourage them and push them towards antistereotypes. Healthy pedagogy says that you should always be neutral towards every possibility and encourage the children toward everything they show interest in. But feminists say we shouldn't, because we have to demonize the traditional gender roles to oppose the men who oppress us.

I talked about some examples in this and this comments.

And I'm rereading a textbook I studied last year to scan some crazy paragraphs and share them here.

My grade 4 teacher was a feminist nun who demonized boys.

She would send girls in our washrooms to supervise us

and she would make us stand outside immobile in the freezing cold.

[–]itsallsympolic 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A female friend of mine posted this on facebook. I basically told her that the fact that the word is considered the worst word you can say is because people unanimously disapprove of its use. Like, it used to be ok to say the N word when people were more racist, now we disapprove of its use because it's not ok to be racist. She was very open and responded kindly. Besides if you use her logic of looking into the origin of words, then our everyday use of the word "boy" would be evidence of total acceptance of misandry.

[–]single_use_acc 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'll bet, though, they take credit for feminine words that are positive in their eyes, right?

[–]Rabid_Pink_Princess 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, not that I know of at least, they usually ignore them or say that even when they are not negative their meaning is associable at weak or submissive behaviour.

The most violent and abusive people I've known in my life are mostly women. But I don't paint the entire gender as violent and abusive. I don't see why feminists need to grab that broad brush and paint all men the same colour.

[–]12_more_minutes 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's important to note that is strictly inaccurate. Funny, but it means about as much as calling all dogs male because of the Spanish word

Men commit more violence.

Men also save more lives.

Men do more of pretty much everything else, except having babies. So it would be surprising if men didn't do more violence.

[–]TheJazzProphet 32 points33 points34 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Men commit more violent acts against other men. From what I've heard though, most of the violence between men and women may actually be perpetrated by women. I don't have any sources on hand, but I've heard that most domestic violence is mutual, and most unilateral domestic violence is done by women.

[–]HiredMind 9 points10 points11 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Yep. The reason feminists concentrate on domestic violence and rape is that in these two narrow categories, women are more likely to be the victims*. In every other category, men are much more likely to be.

Honestly I don't buy the idea that the majority of domestic violence is initiated by women. But I think it's somewhere around 60/40 men/women instead of the feminist hysterics' implication that it's 99% men and women are all sweetness and light. The problem is that only a tiny fraction of that 40% of female aggressors is ever punished for it.

(*I know if you include rape in prisons, this doesn't apply to rape.)

[–]TheJazzProphet 11 points12 points13 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, the problem with letting feminists focus on domestic violence and rape is that they're constantly redefining the terms. If you include all forms of forced or coerced sexual intercourse, including a man being made to penetrate a woman, the gender disparity vanishes. And I'm not saying the majority of all domestic violence is initiated by the woman. But according to this report, 70% of unilateral domestic violence (ie. one partner hitting the other with no physical retaliation) is perpetrated by women.

[–]Mild111 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

rape in prisons

This would also draw attention to the prison population demographic, which is also why feminists tend to cite "college campus" studies and then apply them to a crisis of the society as a whole. Look at the demographics of Colleges vs. the demographics of Prisons. Which fits the narrative of female victimization?

Obviously the place with more women to BE victims.

So when my mom was beating the everliving crap out of my 5 yr old body, she was actually living out her manliness? Is that it?

Or what about the woman who flailing and screaming tried to steal my husbands bike, while he held on, having to call for me so I could to beat her ass denying her the victimhood she would have possessed had my very capable husband sorted it himself, because you know what would have happened if he had done anything but hold on to this bike.

The only real violent moments of my life were caused by women. Nonchalently, indifferently, no big deal slaps and pinching, to downright beating. All women. Ive never seen a man go all out on a woman in a bar or public transportation, flailing around screeching like a banshee. But I have seen many women do that. My guess is, men can kill with one blow and learn to not use violence as an emotional outlet, just because they didnt get what they wanted or were rejected. - Women, with no accountability and the victimhood label rather than loserlabel when they fuck up, dont have to check themselves the way men do. - There IS a toxic femininity. Not a male on Sofie. You are part of the problem.

Women can be as shitty as men, but they get the victim card AND the no accountability card much easier than men.

Sofie is a dane, and Im terrible sorry world that my country helped produce her. She is the 1% of the 1% in this world, with the priviledges that come from having been born a woman, in one of the most gender equal places on earth. But thats not enough for Sofie. She wants the priviledge of her station, but also all the victimhood she can muster, and all she is on that front is a white middle class woman.... which basically means, she already has everything, which causes an issue for her on the victim/oppression scale. So, to have a shot at the victim parade, she has to make up a reality that only exists in Sofies own head, including the idea that toxic masculinity exists. All the while living a life with everyday miracles of technology and science that is only possible because of male ingenuity throughout the ages. IS she even able to appreciate a single thing that can be ascribed to males seeking the dragon and its hoard, slaying it and bringing home the gold? Or is she just plain oblivious? Remember she chose a massacre, to promote herself and her ideas. Toxic? I think so!

I find women are far more likely to physically lash out and they are also more likely to claim that someone/something made them do it, and that its therefor not their fault. AND they are far more likely to be heard on that notion, and punished less than a man in the same scenario. - This toxic femininity should be adressed.

[–]cymrich 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

the number of times my mother beat me as a child is impossible to count... the number of times my older sister beat on me until I got big enough to defend myself is impossible to count. the number of times my aunt, who is about the same age as my older sister beat on me, usually with my sisters help, is impossible to count. the number of times I fought back to defend myself... 3! my mother smacked me in the balls one day, for no real reason, and I backhanded her in return. my sister ripped the cord out of a nintendo controller in a fit of rage, because she wanted to watch TV and I was playing a game, and proceeded to use it as a whip and caused massive welts where it wrapped over my shoulder and hit my back... I backed her in to the kitchen as she continued whipping me and punched her once in the gut. my aunt attacked me because I was playing music and she didn't want to hear it, she clawed me with her fingernails in the face, shoulder and arm before I managed to grab a plastic stick from a kite nearby and swatted her with it on the back, leaving a nice welt.

they beat on me quite frequently, and then none of them ever touched me again after I finally stood up for myself.

[–]cymrich 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

they have little empathy and use others.

that's definitely my older sister... she always had some scheme to use someone to get something. last I heard of her she was somewhere in Oregon pretending to be Jewish... changed her name to Devorah somethingerother, and was wearing a head scarf in her facebook profile pic. I just assumed this was some new attempt to use someone in some fashion that benefits her. she has such a long history of such stuff which even includes suing our paternal grandmother who gave her a place to live (a small, but brand new mobile home), furniture to put in it, and paid her tuition for a vocational school, which she walked out of a month before she graduated. I don't think my aunt or mother are truly narcissists, just abusive. At least, if they are, certainly not to the same degree.

Somehow my younger sister didn't turn out like them... but I avoid that entire side of the family so I haven't talked to her in many years.

It was extreme. But back in the day, before internet, people only got news from newspapers. And omg was it censored. Charles dickens had to edit his work for the news even though he was anti child labour. Whoever wrote Tess of the d'urbevilles had to edit his work because he wrote about a women in the Victorian era who was raped by her boss (therefore ruined) and she had to just deal with it. The 'ruined maid' a poem by a guy who talked about how a prostitute was a person. Everyone disliked these literature because it went against what they thought. Therefore if you wanted to get your voice out, you had to pull a big stunt.

Of course I'm not saying it was right, but at the time it was what got people talking. Just like how Mandela, and Martin Luther king got people talking. The difference with feminism in 1800s England and black rights movement in 1960s is technology, force wasn't necessary in order to get a message across because you had TV and giant peaceful protest would get cameras on you whereas a protest in the Victorian era would get you a tut tut tut .

However if feminism were to happen now in LEDCs , which it should to get rights like right to divorce, right to marry and right to land, but not the same way as it was done in the past.

Every change has a lot of casualties, like the Christian fight in Tudor times (catholic vs Protestant) which caused many Catholics to be burned, the black rights caused violence upon them, the holocaust. So what happened with feminists weren't uncommon.

What is a problem, is modern day feminists taking the absolute piss and thinking that they deserve everything handed down to them and men are dumb despite them doing a lot more stem subjects. That's an issue.

I happily see there men's issues just as there are women. But in LEDCs, something needs to be done in those countries so we could all have roughly the same rights.

Cut the "starting a dialogue" BS. Suffragettes bombed a church because they thought the wedding vows were sexist. They told Frederick Douglas to get Ida B. Wells under control because she was exposing their racism against black people. They didn't need to bomb a damn thing. Universal suffrage had already been growing over the previous 100 years leading up to the women's vote, and the Suffragists were making progress. If anything, bombings painted women in a bad light as irrational and violent. Not good traits in a potential electorate. On top of it all, a significant resistance to the vote was from women who didn't want to trade voting rights for obligation to the state. Lucky for them, they got the vote for free.

The feminism of the past directly lead to the feminism of today. It was always one-sided, bigoted, and hateful. If you want to see the impact feminism has in developing countries, look at India, Haiti, or any of the feminist influenced foreign aid programs to Africa. Biased laws (martyrs of marriage), biased programs, and women only food distribution.

The legal and social discrimination against men didn't just pop up as a coincidence as feminism grew in influence.

I agree that it was bad, and I also stated that I'd rather feminism in LEDCs like India , would go through a softer approach.

But it was as bad as Queen Mary and Henry the VIII burning down churches and setting Catholics on fire for what they believed in. I'm not saying it was right or moral, I'm saying that that is what usually happened in order for change to occur good or bad.

The bombings and killings I don't really feel are fair. Then we should also count Marc Lepine (killed 14 women claiming to fight feminism), this MRA Peter Nolan who called on twitter for killing all women, Luby's shooting, the Collier Township shooting, and Elliot Rodger's killings. But these are the nutjobs that should not define a movement.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Are any of those people lauded as MRA pioneers who were important civil rights crusaders? Are they used as examples of model MRA's to which men owe their rights? Was there a Hollywood film made to memorialize them with full MRM backing?

How does an organized, multinational movement operating under the banner of feminism compare to the incidents you listed?

Feminists own the Suffragettes as positive role models and promote them as early feminist victories. And they get away with it because people fall for their revisionist history.

Thats pretty hilarious considering females are not as gifted at violence. They have no need or use for violence. They can get everything they want/need through manipulation, vagina, pity, or any other scam they try to run. Any female who is violent is truly a stupid piece of shit.

Males sacrifice the freedom of violence to build and maintain society. Offenders of this sacred sacrifice are punished harshly. Men build and maintain civilization as in they do all the heavy lifting while females work do nothing jobs. Men do all the inventions. Men are basically responsible for 99% of everything thats great in society. Giving females 1% credit is exceptionally generous.

So what do females sacrifice to make civilization work? They used to sacrifice their sexuality, their hypergamy to make society stable. To form families and bring society together. Even when they broke their vow they were rarely punished. Except in muslim societies where they were punished fairly.

Now what do females do? Abuse every drop of their power especially legally. Endless false rape accusations. Endless misandry. Endless entitlement. They are completely ungrateful to men even though men have given them everything.

women are more likely than men to commit acts of physical aggression
according to self-reports, women are more likely than men to commit acts of physical aggression, whereas according to partner reports, their respective levels are similar
Archer, J. (2000). Sex differences in aggression between heterosexual partners: A meta-analytic review. Psychological Bulletin, 126, 651-680. doi: 10.1037/0033-2909.126.5.651

Women More Aggressive To Partners Than Men
The findings showed that women were more likely to be physically aggressive to their partners than men and that men were more likely to be physically aggressive to their same-sex others.
Furthermore, women engaged in significantly higher levels of controlling behaviour than men, which significantly predicted physical aggression in both sexes.
Commenting on the findings, lead researcher Dr Elizabeth Bates said: "Previous studies have sought to explain male violence towards women as rising from patriarchal values, which motivate men to seek to control women’s behaviour, using violence if necessary.
“This study found that women demonstrated a desire to control their partners and were more likely to use physical aggression than men. This suggests that IPV may not be motivated by patriarchal values and needs to be studied within the context of other forms of aggression, which has potential implications for interventions.”

Unfortunately, Ms. Hagen has evidently never heard of a thing called "research". Had she been aware, she would have heard of the PASK (Partner Abuse State of Knowledge) report. This report conducted a meta-analysis of numerous published papers on DV from multiple countries and showed that DV is more-or-less a 50:50 thing.

But that's much too much like having to do work when it's much, much easier to trot out a (tired) cliche.
