Yes, it's gaining traction. the number of men who have been shafted by unfair divorce laws is now so high that the movement has a huge number of supporters right below the surface who are slowly emerging as part of a snowballing movement.

I think my small part of MRM (Custody laws, parental alienation etc.) is gaining traction.

In the UK PA was debated in parliament recently, high profile child abduction cases by mothers are leading to discussions debunking the generally accepted 'fact' that mothers are always right.

False accusations against the father while delaying the custody process are being investigated properly.

I have been suffering under the effects of having my children alienated from me for several years now. This year I am starting to see a more balanced view in the media regarding 'my' topics.

Just keep spreading the word.

Definitely. If it weren't for us, feminists would be totally different today. It's only a few years ago they largely mocked the very idea of men's issues. Now they're spending considerable time trying to make it look like they care about men too.

Yes.

Feminists now have great institutional power and are using it, but in some ways this works in our favor. Every new anti-male law and policy causes more men (and women) to think critically about issues they had never really thought about much.

Men have historically taken a position of "ignore feminism and hope it goes away." That is no longer an option. We also have the ability to communicate online and share our findings.

If women were smart they would wholeheartedly embrace the men's rights movement, because at the end of the day we're rather benign and equal rights would ultimately help women as well (shared parenting for example).

If the MRM doesn't succeed and some sort of sanity brought back to gender relations then women will be in real trouble. The current system is not sustainable, and we'll ultimately be looking at MGTOW on steroids, real misogyny, or some sort of collapse followed by God knows what.

Absolutely. It wasn't long ago that people (especially feminists) thought that men had no issues that they face in society. Neutral people hear us out and they say that we make good points but we're still bad because we're MRAs and anti-feminist. Faced with the fact that men's issues exist, feminism decided all of a sudden (I would say it happened sometime last year) that it DOES (or pretends to) care about men since intersectionality now applies to the issues men face and because they need more and more followers. The only one they really pretend to care about is mental health, but that's because it's compatible with the whole "patriarchy hurts men too" shtick. If you bring up other issues, they might acknowledge them but they'll still blame patriarchy. Baby steps, my friend. Baby steps

You shouldn't judge MRM advancement by the Feminist fringes. Just a couple of years ago, /r/MensRights was at 100,000 subs. It's now nearly at 150,000. If you listen to Feminists argue, they almost always claim that men face legitimate issues as well (right before their but...). They do this because they have to admit men face some issues or they lose credibility. Many women come to the MRM after having boys. Many men are feeling more okay about speaking about discrimination they faced. Then there are films like "The Red Pill" that are mainstreaming our issues. Heck, President Trump even mentioned that men face issues in family courts. It's pretty obvious that we are winning.

Selection bias, I think. For years and years, the topic of male victims of DV wasn't talked about at all in my hemisphere. It was 100% slamming men as perps.

A year or so ago, I noticed the first article that even offered the thought of "is it possible there are male victims?" And today, there's an article by a (probably feminist) journalist whining about the fact that the topic gets such an amount of press. Same with MGM. In the last week alone, I noticed two medical publications strongly condemn the practice.

I don't know if its the MRM that's gaining traction specifically. But our talking points seem to break through into "mainstream consciousness". Which probably is exactly why you're also seeing so much "retardation" in feminist echo chambers; They're running scared.

Veteran MRA for over 5 years here. No, but I want to be wrong.

I define growth differently than the others ITT. I measure a movement by its ability to govern and take action, not persuade. Being right does not help much when believable nonsense has more leverage than difficult truth.

You can say that things are changing, but the image of women, not necessarily the demographic, is the 800-pound gorilla that kills egalitarian legislation before you learn it's even on the agenda.

I could stop all of the activism I think means something and focus hard on a YouTube channel right now, and I'd gain more money and popularity than I ever would working on activist projects. But I think there's something wrong with that picture. Whenever I needed to hire speakers, debate or rant about something I felt needed to be said, you guys would pony up $$$ and put your butts in seats. But when I need people to be at a committee hearing or to help unload a truck, I'd be lucky to get two of you fuckers.

This is not to say that personalities and content producers don't do hard work. This is not to say that more people aren't calling out lies about gender. This IS to say that when an opportunity arises to change something, you tend to not be there. You are just going about your routine, or watching your favorite YouTuber.

Which is fine. You do you. I can't work everywhere either.

But those of us who bother to help on a project are always outnumbered at the capitol building. And when you go off saying the movement is growing anyway, I feel like you are taking credit for work you aren't doing, and are unaware of what that work really entails.

I do see more and more people arguing with feminists on the Internet. This much is true, and that certainly has grown. But that to me is a bubble, and it gets popped every time I see a bill die in a vote because you weren't there when activists needed you.

Again. I want to be wrong. I just hope that when you prove me wrong, it's because you wrote a legislator, drove down to help pass out some materials, or even just donated some canned food.

No - but the MRM is a terrible label to use as a starting point to judge.

There is much change that is not apparent;

Spell checkers now recognise "men's" as correct - this is due to lobbying and also due to the correct grammatical form being used more widely on the net. There has been 50% underlying growth in the last 5 years
Spell Checkers now have the word "Misandry".
Across governments gender ins now being used neutrally and not as a false flag identifier of "Woman/Women".
The number of people identifying as "Feminist" is reducing globally as misandry is being rejected as acceptable and with feminism no longer seen as promoting equality

Dumb dad commercials have dropped off considerably. So has use of the 1 in 4 and wage gap misleading statistics. Alimony laws are slowly changing. The draft is slowly heading towards equality. Issues like male suicide and the education gap are finally being addressed in the UK and hopefully soon in the US. Strong backlash to the SJW Audi commercial, anti Father's Day's ads, Ghostbusters, etc show the influence and our collective power.

Most people here don't have time for screeching, self entitled SJWs and they hate the fact that the government listens to them.

In wider society, people like Milo and Paul Joseph Watson spread a lot of the issues. In fact, mens issues, and Manosphere slang in general, began permeating popular culture years ago. We now see the results in manosphere related ideas popping up in 'unrelated' spheres....like Gamergate, for example.

At the same time, the MRM is shedding most of its movers and shakers, and alienating other manosphereans, in a misguided 'PR effort' resulting in its shrinking status, even among men. The PC attitude and failure to take unpopular (if principled) stances has meant guys like Vox Day, Mike Cernovich, and Paul Joseph Watson are taking the issues to the public, while separating themselves from the MRM as much as possible.

So, while those contemptible Redpillers make you 'look bad', they are outpacing this sub by a country mile. And they started 2 years later.

Thats not happening for nothing.

I think it is, not very much so in the MSM, nor in academia, but there is something brewing under the surface. Just look at recent sales figures for the Red Pill. Also I see an increasing amount of physicians speaking out against MGM, and there appears to be a slow increase in people getting prosecuted for false rape allegations. The issues around custody also seem to slowly get more attention, as does the education gap. Also, nearly all political parties in my country (the Netherlands) are increasingly arguing for paternity leave, to give fathers more time to bond with their children.

There's a long, long way to go, and I see things like paternity leave often framed as a feminist issue (if men get paternity leave, employers can't 'discriminate' against women due to maternity leave), but the issues are being discussed.

So I think men's rights issues are slowly gaining traction, but I also think the movement itself has a massive PR issue.

Not exactly. I think the MRM has been effective in swaying the mainstream farther and farther from feminism and towards equality. But I don't think the MRM itself is making too much headway itself. I am mostly OK with this.

The media is trying to ignore it, but the Red Pill movie is doing the rounds and just slowly keeps growing. Its definitely growing as you only have to see the amount of 'pro men' comments in the women's sections of newspapers. Everywhere its both men and women telling them to grow up and stop whining. 50 years of feminism and women are more unhappy than ever; feminist cant keep blaming everyone else forever. Just watch how they dance around the 'women are more unhappy now' issue on tv, they're running out of excuses.

So there's basically two ways to look at it. Are the number of people who call themselves MRAs increasing? And are the issues that MRAs lobby for getting attention? Both seem to be yes. In fact, I'd say that the fact that those two subreddits you linked to even exist is an example of the MRM gaining traction. The first thing that needs to happen to do this (that MRAs have been doing for years) is to expose female supremacist ideas for the bigotry that they are. That means more exposure so that more and more people see the hate and recognize it as part of their world.

Admittedly, a fair amount of what's happening is people going from blue pill to purple pill and we're in a "strange bedfellows" situation with tradcons. I'd say that the MRM will have really earned its place in history once the violent split between MRAs and tradcons starts to happen.

Edit: to clarify, a split between tradcons and MRAs (who don't like each other much right now but tend to fight on the same side) would signify that feminist bigotry has diminished so much that we'd become more of a threat to each other than feminism is to either of us.
