Alright, I am not married to this view so I want to see what you think.

In my time on PPD and pill sphere before that, I have noticed that men repeat the talking points that courts always grant tons of alimony to ex wives, even ones that were married for a short time and have no children.

The reason I bring this up is I have encountered people on here and other places who are actually lawyers or familiar with the law, who have said that this premise is false in many cases and in current year courts definitely do not automatically give women tons of alimony and let them divorce rape their exes.

Now certainly divorce has become more prevalent since no fault divorce was instituted, but over and over I see actual lawyers as opposed to random people online, say that things are not as simple as “woman always divorces rapes and makes out like a bandit.”

Now IANAL but I have experienced the reddit experience of being an actual expert in some field and watching a bunch of people who are not experts make wild false claims, meanwhile the accurate statements get downvoted to oblivion, so I am sure it can be frustrating.

Anyway, men on PPD are always telling me that society provides no place for men to express negative emotions besides anger; fear and hurt are things they feel men can’t express.

Therefore I am wondering if men saying wild broad but often inaccurate statements like “courts all let women divorce rape” are doing so not because it’s technically true, but because expressing their feelings through arguments about impartial, non-emotional topics like the law, are the only outlet they feel safe expressing “weak” emotions.

It is the same principle as a woman who just got dumped being irrational negative and saying “I am fat and ugly and going to die alone and my cats will eat me and no one will find my body for two weeks until the utility companies complain,” most people know that a woman saying something like that is expressing hurt and rejection and knows that is not really the case.

So, as men have said they have no emotional outlets; is making broad speculative statements about impartial fields a way of expressing emotions?
