TRP "dread game" is a perversion of otherwise healthy feelings. If you really like someone (male or female) it's natural to wonder if you're up to their standard (i.e. are you good enough). As a result you try harder. When both partners do this a really good relationship results (i.e. both partners bring their A-game).

If a guy (or woman) really is a catch their partners will naturally worry about them leaving the relationship -- no games required. If both partners are high value catches they'll both worry. The result is an intense -- if not stress free -- relationship.

I'm living this right now. I'm dating a doctor who in several ways is higher value than me. I'm trying my best not to screw things up. Don't think that's a bad thing.

It's understandable that any person who wants to be involved with another person would be torn to see that person leave, but as far as "dread game" is concerned, if you use leaving as a means to manipulate someone into doing what you want, I have no sympathy for you if and when it backfires.

Depends on the man. Depends on the relationship. At a party, I let the SO free range. It doesn't mean shit as long as they go home with me. In general, I just give her enough rope to hang herself. If she feels uncomfortable with some other guy all she has to do is cling to me and the guy will back off.

Edit: a lot of guys will get jealous if their date/GF/SO/plate is getting friendly with another guy at a social function. That will certainly get a reaction but I would not say that it "works" in the sense of increasing attraction or making your relationship more functional.

Many TRP techniques or simply techniques of attractive men are little more than “flipping the script” or using women’s arguably natural behaviours against them.

Most women are a phone call and some flirty texts away from having sex and a relationship with various men of varying quality. That is dread.

It’s why men get called players. Women are correctly assumed to be natural players hence no corollary. It’s why my admittedly messy theory about having to be a male 7 to be above ANY woman in SMP has some truck (has options etc).

Male players play the game like women. Dont fall easy. Don’t get too attached. Assess options. Enjoy being competed over. Enjoy the attention.

Only in the last few years I’ve understood what most women and some men get naturally and it really is a different world. I see why people like social functions so much now.

It works on some men. Other men have too much self-respect or don't "dread" being alone if a woman nexts them. Frankly, I think that this is the better option than some men who decide to just plate a bunch of women and to never become too attached to anybody.

It "works" for wildly different reasons and in wildly different fashions. OP is reacting exactly like a chick, good for him I suppose.
Maybe that's the reaction you get when you have people in abundance being dread gamed? Some anxiety and an ego boost? Who knows, maybe the reaction isn't specific to gender, but to abundance. I already thought that women lacking abundance reacted poorly to dread.

When you have women dreading men on scarcity the result is the guy experiencing a soul crushing defeat. He'll resort to quitting or, taking less chances on the aspects in which he loses to the competition (usually avoid initiating sex) and trying to please her, driving her further away while still validating her behavior. Dude goes full spineless doormat or breaks up feeling betrayed.

This is one of several posts where the man develops oneitis for a woman that is not the stereotypically always available RPW that they claim to love.

Basically you get that in different flavors.
The most common one is remarkably inexperienced and insecure men developing oneitis for the one chick that fucked them (and everyone else). This ends really, really bad. Whether she's a cheating whore or not, their relationship will suck real bad.
Sometimes you get a guy that bumped into a bpd chick. It's not common (1.9 to 5.9% of the general pop, meaning 2.85 to 8.85 of total women) but it happens. This also turns out terribly.
Now, sometimes you get more seasoned fellows contemplating settling down, they'll look for traits that make attractive women, and these traits might not make the tame women that lives in the tradcon's minds. These folks, men and women, aren't stupid, so things don't turn out badly.

Yes but it depends on the man and his willingness to put in effort. For me a few women that have tried this on me or tried to play 'hard to get' and I just moved on to something else. Yeah, for sure. The reason a lot RP guys are going to tell you there's no way it would work on them is because they understand and know what it is - women, in the same way, would not "fall" for some of these tactics, though women being on the whole more neurotic means that they have a greater impact emotionally, so I'd just say it would be harder for women to dread game men, but it is absolutely on the table.

As you grow as a man, and begin to value your own worth, you begin to value your time. And will not waste it obsessing over a woman that wants to avoid commitment. If us men were made to view ourselves as beings of value by virtue of our male selves, and as beings capable of spreading beauty and joy in the world, we wouldn't fall into this cycle of self-loathing and neediness that society fetishizes as "wanting what you can't have".

A challenge is only exciting once it ceases to be a challenge, and, to be frank, a mutual and reciprocal romantic/sexual connection feels 1000 times better than this tired "unrequited love" trope that we are pushed to fetishize these days.

There are many men out there that want, and are more interested in sexual companionship with a woman that is truly progressive.

BTW that's the thing about TRP. It's a reaction, and a seemingly logical way to adapt to a civilization that grows increasingly hostile to this reality. No, it doesn't.

Dread comes from a very old concept in the pickup community called a rapport break. Rapport breaks are fairly self evident- you break rapport through teasing, making fun, ignoring, pushing away (physical), cutting off, turning away (body language), etc. These behaviors imply higher value and abundance/pre-selection. This creates tension and sexual attraction. One of the defining traits of "nice guys" is their complete lack of these behaviors.

"Dread game" is just a rapport break in the context of a relationship as a way to get sexual attraction back. It won't work for women for the simple fact guys aren't attracted based on value or dominance-- we're physically attracted to you or we're not. There's no behavioral aspect to it.

Of course, it works on most people. The best way to maintain your relationship with someone is be slightly abusive: give them 5 good days and 2 days where they think you might cheat or leave them. Works like a charm.

In general though, men get more mileage out of being unavailable than women do. Women are more attracted to unavailability and dread than men, from what I've seen. But sure, it works on both sexes.
