And why would I surrender the right to judge what's 'best' to TRP? It's generally better to have your own notion of what is best and following that, but TRP especially is a bad option to delegate those decisions to - TRP is inconsistent, judges men on things they cannot change, judges men for the inability to change immutable characteristics and does so in cruel ways.

What the hell would someone do if they drew the short stick? To each his own. There's no universal solution to that, but I'm pretty sure that buying into the false notion that terpers work hard, instead of having most of their success handed to them, is going to help any unfortunate man out there.

You need the right style.

Unattractiveness is a condition that makes it so that there is no style that works for you. When I was younger, I spent a lot of time and effort researching fashion and trying to get something to work for me, but nothing did - not even asking self-professed style experts to pick outfits for me. Not even getting tailored clothes.

Conversely, the one woman that did find me attractive (my ex wife) found me attractive in simple casual clothes. I didn't have to wear a three-piece italian suit with quadruple frilly bavarian style pocket square and aristocratic necktie or some other bullshit that you find on male fashion advice resources. Nor did I have to take care to wear my t-shirts in such a way as to show off my musculus hugeus, which is another type of typical bullshit male fashion advice.

Do you have acne?

I occasionally still get it on my face, but it's overshadowed by a somewhat worse skin condition that is present always. It's not too severe, but it does put women off and certainly played a part in keeping me single until my thirties.

Seriously, though, the fact that you let outright superstition like that guide your principles is why your advice is useless - superstition by definition cannot produce consistent results.

For what? I don't have any obvious flaws to fix like a recessed chin or crooked nose. The only concrete flaws that I've had pointed out about my face is that the skin is oily and dirty, and that the eyes are too close together. But mostly it's just 'something offputting'

That's another weakness of the TRP position - you cannot argue for its validity without dismissing the experiences of others that don't fit into your narrative. All I did was listen to trp and keep lifting.

Which means you had it easy. If all you had to do for success is lift some metal as a child, you never struggled and you never had to work hard. Just harder than you though you should have.

Like I said, there are men who follow TRP advice for years and see no results. Same goes for any other self-help cult. And when they try to bring it up with the proponents all they get is other pampered wannabe experts like you insulting them and dismissing their experiences.

Just for fun, let me take your experience apart for a bit:

You lifted and your muscle grew. There's not bad or good about that - you just put in effort and straightforwardly got your reward. You just wish you didn't have to put in effort at all.

i learned about how to be confident

Everyone learns how to be confident. It just doesn't make a difference in some people's lives. You had it easy - it mattered in yours.

after talking to people more I was able to be confident

So people are open to talking to you, and respond positively, giving you confidence in those interactions. Again - that's playing on easy mode.

You're cleary an entitled and bitter child who thinks he should've been handed success and love without any effort at all. You made the most basic efforts, took the easiest path, and you see yourself as some kind of hero for overcoming obstacles that EVERY PERSON IN THE WORLD faces.

Do you think that no matter what you do, you will not be able to get what you want in life

No. I got a lot of what I wanted in life. But I'm not going to ignore the fact that all my life I've been discriminated against for things I had no control over (including being single) and gaslighted into believing I could fix them thus wasting time, effort, money and nerve cells on that. TRP is one such group that gaslights unfortunate men into wrong and harmful beliefs in order to benefit those that already have it easy to begin with.

Do you think that it was impossible for you to do anything to be chad?

The best I can come up with is perhaps not getting fat back in elementary school, but it wasn't exactly something I personally did. I was six years old and the parents would constantly yell at me for supposedly not eating enough. I lost the weight when I moved out to go to college but to this day a part of me wonders if my whole appearance would've turned out differently had I not grown up as an obese kid.

Also denying that the attraction grows over time, at least for women, is just wrong.

I neither made nor implied any such denial. Rather, I asserted that that “growth over time” of sexual attraction is not really growth of sexual attraction as much as it is growth of passive sexual permissiveness (openness to being sexually intimate) because a man has some other utility the woman wants than raw sexual attraction and she thus becomes more open to being sexually intimate with him in order to obtain it. And that’s a sub-optimal way to enter into a committed sexual relationship with a woman. If she doesn’t want to jump your bones from day one, she’s not really sexually attracted to you enough to sustain a healthy committed sexual relationship over the long haul.

Anecdotal evidence: my boyfriend and I started out as friends. When I first met him I wasn’t “oh my god this man is so hot, I wouldn’t mind sleeping with him now”, but overtime as we spent time together and I learned how awesome and funny, and smart he is I also grew to like him.

I’m old enough to have seen this movie play out many many times, and it never ends well (see the links below).

But to say it doesn’t happen in the way that it happened to me would be objectively untrue.

Never said that. Just said that if this is the way a woman becomes sexually attracted to you, you’re off to a bad start as a man because it means that you’re not really sexually attractive to her without her expectation of receiving some other utility from you in exchange for sexual intimacy. That's not a good way to predict the number. What you really need is access to subreddit traffic stats where you use the number of uniques per week.

We can go even deeper. Weekly actives who have real engagement with the sub (upvotes, post views, commenters).

Unfortunately, this doesn't exist and you have to create a trendline from the average hourly, daily, and monthly stats.

I am positive admins have these stats. But we will never see them. As for "skipping" the survey post you can use (roughy) view impressions. It's how ad views are also tracked, with percentage pixel content on screen for a minimum number or seconds.

We could, but we don’t have that either.

I am positive admins have these stats. But we will never see them. As for "skipping" the survey post you can use (roughy) view impressions. It's how ad views are also tracked, with percentage pixel content on screen for a minimum number or seconds.

It would have to be unique views, but we still only have hourly, daily, and monthly, we could try and make a trendline to determine weekly.

I just mean any survey is going to representative of people who took that survey, it’s sort of tautological. You can obviously never get the full picture only using a sample.

One quibble here - I didn't say this survey was representative of its target; I said it was representative of other studies. As in, even professionally executed and published surveys look like this a lot of the time. Might want to edit your comment based on that, since it invalidates your premise here. I mostly agree, this survey isn't representative of it's target, but for different reasons that yours, which I'd argue against but it would be quibbling. Basically I agree, but you're misreading me so agreeing with your conclusion does not mitigate disagreeing with your premise.

A large part of the problem is that social sciences took a hard turn away from pre-existing peer review standards way back in the day, since scientists from other disciplines kept tut-tutting their offerings, and created their own bubble of 'peer review' which has propagated forward to this day. It's a whole thing, I can't do it justice explaining it, but there's good reason why social sciences are called 'soft sciences' and it's not just mindless prejudice from the physicists of the world.

I am probably biased by mostly seeing the posts that hit the front page, but it just looks through the world in a very narrow, very pro-women lens that has no room for nuance or discussion. Like if an alien only had knowledge of humanity through that subreddit, they would think men are these abhorrent monsters and women are angels sent from heaven to hold the line against evil men.

But maybe I'm just jealous men don't have a subreddit where we can be critical of women and receive huge outpourings of support without judgement.

Atheism is merely not holding any belief in any god. That's the only condition (necessary and sufficient) for being an atheist.
There is a minority subset of atheists who beyond fulfilling that basic criterion hold a belief in the inexistence of god. Those are so-called positive atheists. The overwhelming majority of atheists are negative atheists. And even among positive atheists, those who hold a "strong belief" in any sense that would be comparable to that of theists… are a minuscule sub-subset. Most positive atheists just "believe" in the inexistence of gods in the sense that given the absence of sufficient evidence for gods they see it as a matter of epistemic pragmatism to consider them inexistent (i.e. for the same reason they consider Santa Claus or Leprechauns to be inexistent).
agnosticism is the philosophical (more precisely: epsisteomological) position that KNOWLEDGE about existence or inexistence of god(s) is unattainable, at least to us and for now. That's a position that is totally independent of whether one holds a belief in at least one god… or doesn't hold any belief in any god.

Well we can't control what we believe as in what our brain perceives as real or sensible. Some people struggle with dissociation their whole lives after trauma and nothing ever seems real. So I don't think having doubts or confusion or struggling to see things as real makes someone "wrong". It's more about what someone's actively seeking to me. If someone has doubts but is actively seeking God and spending time with God (that could be through a variety of things like prayer, quiet time, videos, sermons, discussions etc) then they are more on track than someone who's just like "Yep I believe in God and Jesus, always have since I was a bebe, muh parents told me so, now let me go to the stripclub and then abuse my partner when I get home because God will forgive me"... but many people would believe that 2nd person is still going to heaven because they still have a certain belief in God, and that the first person's salvation is not guaranteed
