Yes! Been waiting for a post like this. And thanks especially for addressing the 'Alpha / Beta' nonsense. I admit, I've slipped into using the terms as descriptors of people rather than behavioral traits - hard not to when it's the general parlance - but I'll be very happy if we can get back to the more scientific uses of the terms.

This sub could have been overwhelmed by the brigading BP'ers and huge influx of new members, but it hasn't been; and I know that's thanks to you SoftHarem, RedPillSchool, and the rest of the mod team. I'd like to thank you, because this place is the most important part of the internet, for me. Keep it up, gentlemen. I'm beyond excited about what 2014 has in store for this community.

If I may add:

New members; You probably heard about us from somewhere else on reddit. If you did, you almost certainly saw us cast in a shitty light, calling us rapists and neck beard fags. Fuck damn we were unofficially voted the 2nd worst sub on this web site.

Men don't like us because our theories greatly differ from what they have been taught their whole lives. Women don't like us because they refuse to believe their behavior in their 20s will haunt them in their 30s (and a variety of other reasons). It hits them close to home, so close it motivates them to actually take time out of their days to lash out against us, hence the blue pill sub.

Keep in mind that this is a fairly bullshit free zone. If you ask something or present a theory, you will receive realistic answers and constructive criticism; and sometimes the truth hurts. The vast majority of people don't like hearing the truth, and instead focus on what they want to hear. That's why most of what is upvoted on reddit nowadays tends to fall in line with the modern liberal agenda.

FORM YOUR OWN FUCKING OPINION

If you are interested in the theory, read some sidebar material. If you disagree with what is written, that is absolutely fine. You are always welcome on the sub as long as you keep your comments rational and conversational.

I relate this back to hacking: Knowing how to pwn a MSSQL DBMS is amoral. Using said knowledge to steal credit card info is immoral. Using said knowledge to help companies defend against attacks is moral.

I agree. Not only does it increase attraction (because you are a MAN telling her what is rather than a BOY telling her what she wants to hear and then doing what you want) it also generally leads to the women going above and beyond to "win you over" which is always nice.

Women worth giving your commitment to are rare. So rare in fact we call them Unicorns, and you can consider this TRP on hard mode.

They are rare, and they are not proven until they are proven. As a direct example, I have an amazing girl right now and she's even my only girl. She's well on her way to proving that she's worthy of commitment, but she hasn't proven it yet so I haven't given it.

RP relationships are hard mode, because while pure alpha will land you a girl, you have to put some beta in there to keep the girl around long term. This balancing act is crucial and difficult (and, even more, individual to each girl... some will need the balance more towards one and some more towards the other). Relationship game is a whole new world and one that is way too inviting to revert to beta behaviors for reformed guys. Personally, I feel the rewards are worth it so I'm giving it a shot.

The RP community is small, and we seem to only want to divide ourselves further over which sexual strategy is the "best."

There is no "best" strategy. There is only the most optimal given you, your goals, and potentially the woman you are with (if you decide on commitment). If MGTOW isn't for you, then it isn't for you, but it doesn't mean it's not a valid RP topic. If LTRs aren't for you... you get the drift.

At the core of all sexual strategies is the same truth: the realization of the differences between men and women and how to use your knowledge of that to maximize your results for whichever path you choose.

I didn’t know this subreddit exsisted until it was mentioned on the frontpage today by this post

Many moons ago, I was the typical “beta” guy. I was good enough to be bestfriends but not good enough to date. I thought I knew what women wanted which was a guy who gave her love, adoration and did anything she wanted. When I did get lucky and get an official girlfriend, somehow that relationship ended before I brought the truck load of flowers to her door… I couldn’t seem to understand why I couldn’t keep a girl. I witnessed these “alpha” treat women like dirt but yet women can’t seem to get enough of them.

Heres an example of my typical beta days. I met (Lets call her Laura) this beautiful lady online and somehow managed to strike up a conversation with her. She was definitely out of my league. Imagine her at about 5’8” 130lb, curves and a nice huge rack. It was love at first sight! The first week was pure bliss. We would hang out every day, text each other every waking moment and holy shit was the sex great! In the morning I would text her, “Good morning lovely :-) I miss you! When do I get to see you lovely?” By the second week came around, she got a little lets say.. distant. When I texted her, I wouldn’t get a text back for a few minutes. She used to call me “Mr. Handsome” all the time, and that stopped. When we hung out, she was more occupied with other things like her phone or the TV. By the time the 3rd week rolled around, she didn’t even text me until hours later. And by the end of the week, I got the break up text message. “Your such a nice guy but I need more space for myself.” Nothing new I haven’t heard before.

I was devastated. She was the hottest girl I have ever dated and somehow I blew it. Did I not text her enough? Did I not spend enough money on her? Should I have kissed her on the cheek and hold her hand more often? What the fuck was wrong with me. All of my female and male friends blamed it on her. She was at the loss here, not me! She was the moron! My friends told me I was the nicest guy they have ever met, how could she not like me? She must be crazy! I always used google when I needed an answer. I never googled the topic of women because I thought I knew everything. As I did my research I happened to stumble upon articles and dating advice from a guy called Doc Love (google him). Some of the stuff he was preaching (Being alpha) was appealing to me at the time. You mean to tell me I should ignore women?? Wait, you mean I shouldn’t ask women out for another date during the date?? I thought this guy was nuts! But after reading more of his articles things started to click and make sense. I ended up buying his book, partly due to desperation for advice. I started reading the book on a Monday, and read it twice by Friday. The techniques and advice is very identical to TRP.

I tried this on the next few dates I had. Holy shit did things change. Instead of getting rejected, women were actually texting me for dates. The more I ignored them, the more they crawled to me. I was getting laid more. I attracted more beautiful women. And my last relationship went on for 3 years until I ended. That’s right, I ended a relationship for the first time in my life. I’ve been single for quite some time because I don’t want a serious relationship right now. To all the guys just discovering this subreddit, the techniques on TPR are nothing new. They have been around for centuries. The truth on how to attract women have all been diluted thanks to mainstream media. Being alpha works whether you like it or not.

Economic Disengagement? I guess MGTOW is something I knew the least about, because I understood one of their core tenents is writing off relationships and sex completely, and that's not something I am interested in whastsover.

But it is an interesting notion. Sort of John Galt-ish. But it perks my interest because I understand economics and yeah, if people ever did start to "go their own way" and work just the bare bones they have to, things would collapse quickly without the taxes. And I understand their logic because women and feminists especially would sing a different tune very quickly.

Unfortunately not nearly enough would ever participate in such a movement to make an impact. But it's a noble idea.

You know, every once in a while I reflect on how well I am maintaining my frame and if any progress has been made/lost recently. I've noticed my frame slipping. This has happened before, and will happen again, and each time it does, I go back to the beginning. I re-read it all. I focus on each and every loose end in order to put the pieces back into their correct places. This post will mark the new beginning of that trek through TRP strategy and information.

It is my understanding that the entire reason for TRP's existence is to help educate and drive men toward becoming more independent socially, professionally, and romantically. One of the core reasons I continue to come back to TRP is the solid foundation of thought pounded into it's user-base of "what's in it for me?" or "what am I getting in return?".

If folks on this forum continue to lash out towards each other, either through mundane labeling or outright destructive criticism, they are eliminating and squandering that core belief. What advantage are you gaining from besmirching someone on an internet forum? Again, this is why Reddit is wonderful, "I like what they say, upvote" or "I disagree with that statement but haven't the time to voice said disagreement in a logical view downvote".

I know I'm still relatively new to TRP, I've lurked here for some time but just recently have decided I have enough RP knowledge to begin sharing or adding to a conversation/thread. I also understand that my views/beliefs may differ from others on this subreddit. Some of what I say or do may, in fact, come across as a Beta tendency to quite a few people, yet I don't let it deter me from my main goal of eliminating those aspects of myself that which I deem "Beta", and replace said character flaws with traits which I deem "Alpha". Utilizing this viewpoint, I find it incredibly difficult to label other people one way or another, because who knows how they feel about themselves.

I didn't feel it worth making it's own thread so I'll just say here. I just found out about this sub yesterday, makes me mad how true it is.

I let me last girlfriend tell me what she wanted and was respectful to her spoken desires and such. Then she went crazy and implied I wasn't being interesting enough and it drove her crazy that I let her have what she wants (which was to take things slow because she wasn't sure).

That's what I get for not wanting to play dumb games and for choosing to obey her spoken requests. Never again, women have no idea what they want. Anyway, I'll lurk some more because I don't fully understand this, but pretty useful info so far.

Maintaining it throughout the course of a long term relationship is another beast altogether. This is content we haven't discussed much in the past so we are looking to the community to drive it. If it is something you're interested in start making theory posts. Mate selection, maintaining frame, Captain/First Mate dynamics, etc. We aim to be the premiere hub for all things RP related, and ignoring relationships because they aren't "True RP" is ignorant.

As one of the guys here in a RP marriage, thanks for this part and I plan on contributing more directly in the coming year. Particularly mate selection and Captaining my ship. Maintaining the proper dynamics through the years is indeed a challenge and one that I look forward to discussing with those in similar situations and those merely interested in how it works (along with how it doesn't).

There are times in my life when I stumble upon some information so solid, so logical, and so earth shattering that my world view is changed forever. Its an exhilarating feeling! These are those moments in life when an open mind is your strongest asset. I am almost overwhelmed by the excitement of being able to embark on a brand new mental frontier.

Ok disclaimer - I got love for this sub, I think it's one of the best on reddit. This is not a "WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THIS SUB, IT'S FULL OF SHIT!!!" reply.

We've all been on the internet, so we know that when a community gets large, it generally becomes a giant pile or horseshit, like bodybuilding.com forums, r/music, etc etc.

To be different, RP will have to take the time to call-out these morons who come in, real like 1 page of RP theory, then think they know it all despite having no practical experience actually applying the theory. They just, as you said OP, holler "lolol what a betafag, relationships aren't RP" or "bro, bro RP says looks do matter and thus short guys can never get girls!" It becomes a massive circlejerk, because we have these terms, like AFBB (alpha fucks, beta bucks) and then people water down the term by applying it to every single situation.

Slogans are an amazing tool, but they are simplifications. Morons chant "change" or "eat the banks" or "legalize it bro!". Intelligent people talk about the reasons behind their argument and understand the duality of the argument. The dumbed down mainstream needs things put into a maximum of 10 main catchy concepts, because otherwise their heads would break. We don't want TRP becomming a place where all you see is "plate spin bro, SMV, here's an RP nugget, be alpha, Alphas dont do this, alphas do this, women are hamsters".

If you want to understand chemistry, you go beyond the general chem formulas and understand why atoms and electrons interact the way they do, how people apply this esoteric knowledge to make cool shit, etc. I think TRP needs to refocus upon the ideas behind the slogans. Slogans make it easy for beginners to come in here and get caught up, but I would say, fuck that. If they want TRP in their lives, they should be doing better than being spoon fed some easy, reduced caricature.

This will help with people who think that RP is an actual science like physics with these iron rules, like if you text a chick back quickly, you will never fuck her. Or that all guys who are rich are "alpha", or that RP means being "dark triad machiavellian sociopathic bro". People have these ridiculous ideas that are bastardizations of RP theory, but they believe it fully, like so fully that they are basically living in a fantasy land (BP in and of itself). Perhaps presenting TRP as a broad field combining science, philosophy, economic ideas, PUA, and self-improvement rather than a few iron rules would help.

Here's how I put it. Anyone who helps make a better world for men is okay by me. Whether it's an entirely selfish PUA who is accidentally helping other men by taking the pussy off the pedestal, or a somewhat whiny MRA who's still doing good work by moving the Overton Window. Whether it's /u/girlwriteswhat working to promote understanding and acceptance of the male point of view, or Roissey of CH pointing out that the male viewpoint will never be embraced by society, and men need to embrace social nihilism and learn to game the system... it's all fighting the good fight, and it's all useful stuff.

Also, wanted to add something to your list:

Plate stacking

Think of this as an intermediate position between Plate Spinning and Girlfriend Game.

Women like relationships, but often don't realize that "relationship = male monogamy" is entirely a cultural artefact of the modern west. Only men are genetically hardwired to care about keeping partners sexually exclusive.

Male infidelity is categorically, unequivocally less bad than than female infidelity, because women's actions have declared it to be so. Women desire men more when they have access to and are desired by other women. This means a cheating man remains attractive, or even becomes more so, while a cheating women loses attractiveness.

This means that with sufficient frame control and vagina tingles, it's possible to be in one or several "soft relationships", where you have a lot more emotional intimacy and commitment than you do with spun plates, but with the understanding that who you fuck is your own choice, but if she wants to stay with you, she'd better not sleep around. This may sound very difficult, but once women find themselves in that situation, jealousy quickly becomes a thing of the past, so long as she gets enough of your time and attention for her emotional needs.

I think that in many cultures, especially for upper-class men, even marriage was plate stacking, because men were expected to sometimes have something on the side, and this was perfectly okay so as he kept it discrete enough not to publicly shame his wife. In other cultures, marriage was/is Plate Stacking, because men have multiple wives.

One of the benefits of Plate Stacking, from the viewpoint of women, is that it protects them from having to form a relationship with an undesirable man "because all the good ones are taken". The guiding principle of Plate Stacking is that women would rather have some of an alpha than all of a beta.

I like doing it because it allows me to have emotional connections to women (which I like) without missing out on variety (which I also like).

Sounds good. I'm new here, but after doing some light reading, I've found that a lot of my outside studies share many commonalities in TRP. Anyone subscribe to Elliott Hulse on YouTube? The man is Alpha as fuck, and drops knowledge nearly every day with video responses to young men's questions pertaining strength, health, chicks, etc. I started watching him by accident when looking for some workout advice, and he's shed light on so many more topics that physical strength. Definitely worth checking out for some general lifestyle advice, not always pertaining to game.

Anyways, it's 2014, and I'm glad my friend turned me on to TRP yesterday. I see myself growing leaps and bounds with this new hub of information. Thanks to the mods and everyone that's dropping knowledge with anecdotes.

I just started on this subreddit a couple weeks ago, and it has opened my eyes to why I am not getting the results I want. Implementing this stuff is getting a little bit easier, but I like the idea that we are just bringing the A game, not being something we are not.

I've been wanting to talk about this for a while and this seems like as good a place as any. It might need its own thread. I remember reading that direct linking was against the rules here. Not sure if that still is or ever was, but I would be a strong supporter of making the sub self post only. I'm here for the discussion and commentary. I don't want to have to give some shitty feminist website ad revenue just to make a link purple. Plus, just posting links to blog posts on hashed out topics does nothing. I'd much rather see people link inside a self post and be required to explain how they think its relevant, new, etc. Does anyone else agree on this?

TRP has had an impact in my life in 2013 and will shape my 2014. From my point of view there has always been discussion of 3 types of game- I am looking to improve my LTR right now, and if that does not work out it's plates\soft harem time.

One interesting point is I have turned a couple of men onto TRP. One is running with it- the other two go "yeah, some of that stuff is spot on, it's interesting" and then pretty much fade out. Let's all keep in mind that not everyone sees a need to improve themselves. TRP is not always the happiest route (esp. in the short term) but the TRP man lives with what is and not deludes himself with what should be.

Perhaps we can get a sticky for new users not to tell us about how they don't agree with most of the views here as a standard preamble for new posts, or how they're starting to think one view is ok, etc. Maybe there can be a weekly megathread for all new users to come here and repeat those three points - 1) partially swallowing pill, 2) don't agree with all views, 3) will admit one is right.
