IMO most of the advice here is trash, but there are some good gems. At the end of the day, it’s more about getting off Reddit and actually trying something. Actions speak louder than scrolling Reddit :)

Most of what you get here is cringe garbage, but there are a few things you need to bring out of it that will make you successful.

Make yourself the best man you can be. Accomplish your goals, and attack your weaknesses. You don't need to fake confidence if it's real.
Don't be afraid to just talk to a girl or get out there and try something.
Know your worth and don't be a desperate doormat, but don't be a domineering douchebag either. The whole - speak softly but carry a big stick philosophy is fantastic.

Did this work? Yes. I am now married to a gorgeous woman with a child on the way. (I did not meet her at a bar)

This is kind of why I still hang out here even though I'm no longer in the game. I remember where I came from and maybe I can steer some guys in the right direction.

Basically the only good advice here is to go talk to women and get rejected, and try again, because you'll never know until you try. Be true to yourself, value yourself, improve yourself. Anything "seduction" based won't work because you're playing a game and not being yourself naturally.

Some advice is good, some advice on here is bad imo. What has helped me the most is knowing that I should be bold and not afraid of approaching girls and be bold in escalation when the woman doesn't seem averse. Best is to just try things out irl

Although I agree with a lot of what u/Renshato says in his post, especially the bottom line "find what works for you" getting there is easier said than done.

To your question, no reading posts on this sub will not teach you how to seduce or pu a girl.

In the before times, dealing with chicks was hit or miss, trial and error as we had to figure shit out on your own and it was brrutal. Especially when you see so-called "naturals" seemingly attract chicks with ease. Frustrating to say the least. There were a few guys I met along the way that imparted nuggets of wisdom, like "girls like sex just as much as guys" or what shit testing was all about, and actions vs words (i.e. body language) and how to spot chicks in bars who were looking for some action vs ones who weren't. It was tough to trust what your seeing or your instincts, so you end up flying by the seat of your pants a lot. Some success, never guarantees future success, as (contrary to AWALT) chicks are different in what attracts them and/or what they desire.

Reading vs real world experience. There is nothing like the real world to teach you failure. Reminds me of Groundhog Day where Bill Murray goes on for weeks trying to seduce his co-worker with the trial and error method. Just a movie, I know.

For me (your mileage may vary) I found that after grinding out there trying my luck with chicks, once I found mASF pua website, things changed dramatically. Reading their exploits, finding other resources and verifying what I was seeing in the real world, gave me the confidence and understanding I lacked.

Bottom line there are two factors, understanding chick/human behavior and how you behave around them. You don't have to change your personality to attract chicks. 'Attraction is not a choice' and 'desire cannot be negotiated' are two very important tenents when dealing with chicks.

Anyway here a list of resources that helped me in both single life and in relationships:

The System by Doc Love (this is not a pua book, it is a dating book. the doc comes off corny as hell, but his advice is rock solid)

The Way for the Superior Man (wish this book was around when I was younger)

Practical Female Psychology for the Practical Man (the authors are posters from the original mASF website who collaborated to produce this guide on dealing with chicks.)

The Sex God Method (understand DEVI)

also read up and practice reading body language.

With the caveat that I'm nowhere near where I want to be with women... I'll say that yes, I've learned a lot from this sub. But you have to be a critical consumer of the information here. 95% of it is either uselessly vague or just wrong. Biggest thing I've learned from the sub is very specific advice like physical escalation, strong eye contact, leading. This stuff has all been extremely useful and basically changed the way I interact with women, very much for the better. Everyone should get these basics down if they want any success with women. It's crazy to think how long I was stumbling around in the dark not knowing any of it. The idea of touching a woman on a date? Would have been incomprehensible to me before. Now I see that there's really no alternative.

Best advice I had on here was that confident comes from within and to read Models by Mark Manson.

After that I just fucked off and did my own thing and worked on myself. I am a lot more successful with girls now than when I first started but when I come back to this sub it feels like everybody’s just struggling not to be an incel or regurgitating the same generic advice that you need to hear when you first start dating around.

I guess most people probably move on once they get locked into a relationship and stop checking as much.

I don’t post much on here, I just lurk but I have been having actual success in real life so if you ever want me to tell you more about my side of things, just let me know!

I think a lot of the “rookies” here are trying to learn the advanced techniques before mastering the basics. Which does them more harm than anything.

The success stories I’ve seen so far are mostly those that finally mastered the basics either after failing a couple of times or just doing their first real approach.

The problem with this sub is it pays no respect to the ‘elder sages’. Any 40 year old virgin can spew any random shit and get upvoted and complimented. While actual sage advice frequently gets buried in bullshit from people who clearly have little to no experience but want to dish out the life advice like a veteran. It makes it tough for the new guys. The nuggets are there but you’d be better off looking beyond if you really want to improve. Mostly it’s entertainment at best.

Most people here are novices it’s the blind leading the blind. The places I’ve found to help me get my shit somewhat together with women was amazingly enough YouTube. It started with RSD. Then RSD Jeffy. Bought his execute the program for $20, that’s how I learned how to text. RSD Todd taught me how to cold approach. Now I look exclusively at John Anthony Lifestyle’s, and playing with fire shit.

But besides YouTube, the posts that affected me the most; that’s hidden in these archives on seddit, I can’t find them anymore. Are the ones where guys talk about giving up women for a year building their bodies. Then going back out. Only to get all the women and attention they wanted. But realized it was all empty and meaningless in the end. Instead of being able to enjoy it, they hated how they found out how shallow people actually were.

My stance, if you don’t have your shit together and aren’t in shape, with techniques, you can get some results, but you will struggle with women, greatly.

If the only content you consume is from people having success with women some of their behavior naturally rubs off on you. I give a lot of advice. newbie questions are insanely easy. Some are a lite more complex. That has honestly helped me. Keeps me more mentally agile. It's easy to read a post and have a minute to think and say well here's what you should have done.

So when I run into a situation irl my own advice is fresher in my mind.

I've picked up a few things too. With some experience you learn to parse. Half the advice here ain't bad but with humans nothing ever works all the time. Biggest thing to try and shy from is what looks like typical female advice...ask yourself. Does this reflect what I've observed? If not it's advice from a " how it should be stand point"......which is the crap most females would give. Alternatively it is highly misaligned with your worldview so it wouldn't work for you anyway.

Anyway it's mostly helped me stay sharp.

This sub is pointless, it's an echo chamber for lazy people. You won't learn some technique and pull girls.

It requires so much more work than that. It doesn't happen overnight and will likely require years of consistent intentional effort to change.

There is absolutely nothing stopping anyone in this sub from making that change though, there are bars, nightclubs, hobby clubs, coffee shops, any number of places where attractive single women hangout. All you have to do is go talk to them.

90% of guys won't though, they are too scared of the negative feelings associated with rejection. They will hang out in this sub, discussing idea's while the real winners take action.

Yes. My self-esteem, the way I talk to people (not just women) and the way I view myself has improved significantly and my sexual shame has went down drastically when I tried to implement some of the advice from the subreddit wiki and reading "Models". I wouldn't say I'm "there" or qualified to give any advice whatsoever but when I compare myself to me 4-5 months ago, I can say I am proud of the progress I made. Improving with women also made me better in general social situations. I can be more assertive, have clearer boundaries and get more of what I want. Improving one skill will affect others because your skills don't exist on islands.

There is also a lot of fucked up manipulative advice around here, and a lot of the "advice" seems to be from incels, or at least that's what it feels like. You have to be really aware and picky.

If you keep reading and never do anything, no advice is helpful. Your self-improvement should be 20% passive (reading, analyzing etc.) and 80% active (applying) imo. You're going to get hurt a lot but that's okay. Feel your hurt and sadness then say "whatever" and move on.

Reading some of the top posts you can get a sense of what has worked for many people with different life circumstances. That and reading other peoples failures has helped me get a bit better understanding of what works and what doesnt. But ultimately there isnt anything said here to that hasnt been said elsewhere.

The biggest problem i see is theres more people that have no clue giving answers than people that have been through it giving advice. At the end of the day this is just another source of information to be taken with a grain of salt.

Yes general PUA-like things did help me, but I was already getting laid.

It gave me some sort of framework and tips but it didn't really transform me in brad Pitt.

But few things have been very helpful like don't use the phone for much but setting dates, sitting in restaurants with a wall behind you so she has to look at you and not get distracted or you know stuff like setting dates and inviting them for things YOU want to do or like or to avoid first dates like movies where there's not much interaction.

So if there was a first date I would invite them to join me for some things I needed or wanted to do, like seeing some art exposition I wanted to go or going shopping, etc. Women love this kind of casual stuff and you don't show that they are what made you be there but the activity you want to do.

But other than this most of the useful stuff would be less chats, much less, no live a life with a purpose, be honest, etc those are life changers.
