If you ask me, she had a well thought out and well written post. She seemed to know what she was talking about. I'm looking forward to seeing more of her on here, but I don't know if that's going to happen anymore. She was bashed for posting and scared away.

I'd actually like to see more female contributors here, but this is why we don't get too many of them. And I understand that many women will say "we just want a good guy" and "just be yourself" which is terrible advice. But I didn't see anything in her post that can be considered your typical "girl advice". She spoke the truth and everybody bashed her for it. I gave her a positive response and decided to not feed the trolls and get sucked into it.

It's very discouraging seeing such a dark side to this community that I didn't know was so extreme.

While I found the comments distasteful, I am always wary of these type of submissions. I doubt it will achieve what you hope it will, the internet does not like being told how to act, especially when not to troll.

I am a female, and I read seddit for whatever reason. However any time I or any other female tries to post constructive criticism or useful information the usual response is something like: Its a female? Kill it with fire!

I think her post hurt some of the guys here because they took it PERSONALLY. They might have seen themselves doing/have done these things and been in similar situations. They took it as a personal rejection. Honestly, I took it a bit like that. Like "this PUA stuff works and is good, but why can't women transcend beyond that especially if they KNOW about it?". I think this whole thing has just clarified how things are, reality is reality.

It was really frightening to see the anger towards women that we saw today. The submitter had nothing to gain from her (mostly well written, especially from a woman) post, she was only trying to help. It sucks that so many sedditors don't even try to look at her side of the thing.

After all a lot of seduction involves listening to what a woman's trying to tell you, verbally or non verbally and reacting optimally to it.

I agree fully with what you are saying and I did think it was overkill on the part of the AFC gentlemen who basically used the poster as a surrogate for their frustration with the entire female race. It showed a lack of understanding social dynamics, seduction and common decency. Basically it showed an ugly side to the AFC who feels he can be an internet tough guy and it made me offended to be a man.

HOWEVER, I still don't think that the comments should be deleted just because I disagree with what someone says. Let them vent their frustration and be recognized as the total morons they are. Enough of seddit was outraged and jumped down their throat to highlight that the few bad apples were a minority and not a large part of the picture.

I don't think that censoring the opinions of people we disagree with is in the best term interests of reddit, seddit, the community or general populace. In time, the cream invariably rises to the top and these tools will either see the light or leave of their own accord.

Isn't there some silly PUA advice like "You don't learn from goalkeeper how to make a goal...you learn from a striker"?

But for the record I do think she made some good points even though she seemed to be complaining about a date. Thing is however its just her side of the story and she seems to take the rules of the game to the point of ridiculousness. Stuff like "He wasn't kinoing me enough" sounds to me she had risen her expectations of all men to that of game standards,

That is to say that basically what I think she needs to understand is that PUA isn't a set of "rules" that guys need to follow to pick up chicks but rather a series of a psychological tricks meant increase your attractiveness to women.

an unforseen downside to the size of seddit, most likely... I'm pretty sure that roissy and rooshv are the most popular seduction blogs out there. we've probably got an army of citizen renegades on our hands, throwing around veiled misogyny under the guise of biological truth. I was sort of OK with some of the more insightful comments that attacked her (I expect a little girl bashing when they enter man-turf), but the fact that "whoa ur hi-maintenance" and "i would never date you" were up there is quite absurd. In fact, so absurd I thought it was a joke.

girl: hey guys, i went out with a male friend and he didn't do any of the stuff you guys say to do all the time, and I wasn't attracted to him because of it! You guys are right, you should keep doing what you are doing because all of those things attract women!

guy: wtf you are high maintenance. plus women don't know what they want anyway. also you are a bitch for texting people when other people are around in real life.

Two things are 1) we've seen a big influx of new users. New people are awesome but with new people on the net come with trolls. which leads me to my second point

2) Seddit is very very VERY troll bait heavy. You have a lot of guys posting intimate details about their night with women and asking advice on how to pick up said women. My first post to this subreddit I was trolled so we have to be on the lookout.

Further we have to keep the mindset of "don't be a dick". If you don't agree with someone AWESOME! Let them know that. But please guys we're respectful alpha males not sniveling keyboard jockeys.

While I agree constructive criticism is better than pointless insults, you are WAY OFF in suggesting that that girl was the best female contributor we've ever had...

Much of the criticism against her, while vitriolic, touched on some good, legitimate points.

Either way, we already have a system for filtering out unwanted content. It's called the upvote/downvote system.

I know you like to pretend you own this subreddit, but you don't--even though you're a good contributor, with solid insights. Just because you're a mod doesn't mean you should get to delete comments and tell people who is and isn't allowed to post here.

That's for us as a community to decide with our votes, not for you to decide for us.

I posted a negative comment in the thread because I think she gave bad advice. Whether you disagree is neither here nor there just because you're a moderator, and to attack me ad hominem for having a different belief is just about as AFC as it gets.

We read the post and commented based on how we felt about the post. I don't get it. I know I'm going to get down voted and you already called me out as AFC in the other thread, which is fine, but I don't see what the big deal is. In my opinion the girl had some fine points, but most of it in my opinion was a load of shit from a girl who seemed mentally absent on her date, yet expected the world from this guy. A lot of people agreed...

But you agreed with her. And that's totally fine. But then you proceeded to shit on everyone who felt differently.

As expressed in the thread tofutofu, I think you're one of the best mods out of any of the subreddits I visit. You're always posting tips (which I try to use immediately), bringing in AMA's (which is fucking awesome), and posting mad thorough field reports. How's that for some social proof? Almost as good as texting on a date!

But I digress...I think you're going a little overboard with the quality control. We voiced our disagreement like we would for any guy who says something we don't agree on.

Tofu, as a complete aside, I have a question for you. I have a separate account for posting FR's and the like, and I usually get pretty good advice from you and ThrowawayPUA and some others. However, sometimes I dont want to write a whole FR and just ask someone like yourself about a specific situation that doesn't need alot of explanation, or feedback from AFCs like myself. (I only give adivce on Seddit when I KNOW I have the right thing to say).

Would it be inappropriate to just PM you and some of the better Sedditors in this kinda sitch?

What metric makes one an advanced sedditor? The ability to be liked in this subreddit? The ability to welcome new people? You seem to be alluding that anyone that is negative is a less "advanced sedditor" which seems circular to me. Not all of us who are successful out there with women like to post every god damn victory we have. Not all of us who are successful pua's are successful sedditors by these apparent metrics.

I think you are being political here, you see her as a window of opportunity, a step to something more. Though I agree in that the defending her in this manner may be best for this community in the long run, I don't necessarily agree that you're sticking to the values you yourself profess; it does not seem that me that objective analysis and improvement is the priority here, but rather, not hurting her feelings.
