I've been reading some of the red pill content with a sense of bemusement and wondering if the female and beta male behaviors they complain about are really that common? Because among my circle of mostly Gen X upper-middle class college-educated professionals in California I'm just not seeing it. The majority are (reasonably) happily married, with children. Infidelity and divorce are the exception, not the rule. Most of the wives had a few previous relationships but never did anything too slutty and got with their husbands before hitting the wall. Don't bother telling me that I'm too blind to see what's really happening. I am sufficiently objective and observant to understand what's really going on between the couples I know well.

Some of the red pill guidelines represent good practical advice for nice guy losers who habitually let women take advantage. But if they really swallow the red pill I worry that they're going to end up bitter, lonely, and herpes-infected. Do you guys seriously want to still be "spinning plates" when you're 50???

Personally I was something of a loser nerd in my younger years and never had much success with women. And I don't blame the women, the problem was me. Once I figured that out I took a break from dating for a few years and focused on improving myself (fitness / education / income / hobbies / etc). Then after I built up enough value I started a focused, targeted search for the right woman and met my wife in <2 years. Marrying her was the best thing I ever did and I expect to be with her until we die.

So am I just living in a happy little bubble? Is cheating, gold digging, and "shit test" drama more common in other areas of the country or among younger or lower-class people? Perhaps the rest of the country has gone to hell since I left the dating scene and I've just been oblivious?
