Long time lurker, and had to get this out. This pissed me off to the extent of not even being able to respond.

My friend is taking anthropology, and I showed him the, "How Can She Slap?" video (they are discussing issues with women's rights). I then asked him, if you were in his position, would have done the same thing? He then goes on to quote his teacher:

"If a man hits a woman, who do you think is the one at fault? The man. If a woman hits a man, who do you think is the one at fault? It is still the man."

Apparently if a woman hits a man, it is completely justified, because he probably did something that warranted it.

So, I asked him if he agreed with this and he said yes. I asked him, "If a man were to hit him for no reason, would you retaliate?" "I would put him into his place," he told me. "If a woman were to hit him for no reason, would you retaliate?" "I wouldn't do anything."

Dumbfounded, I asked him at what point would he hit said woman. He told me if she had a knife, and was trying to kill him. The only time that he would hit a woman is if she were trying to kill him. Wouldn't touch her if she was assaulting him, raping him, or harassing him.

This is what students are being taught, and this is what is being implemented into their heads.

(I don't know if the teacher is male or female).

Edit: The teacher is male.
