While I think the axiom of what you say (that all a man has to offer in a relationship is his socioeconomic status) is fundamentally wrong, the answer remains the same.

You have to offer something. Not in a commerce way of exchanging tit for tat, but bringing something to a relationship in terms of the person you are.

Ambition doesn't have to express itself solely through chasing a career, but can be as simple as an interest/passion about anything. And if you don't have any interest in anything, then there's a much deeper issue which need to be addressed before it seems healthy for you to dive into a relationship.

Most people have little in the way of ambition. And most people find themselves in relationships sooner or later.

In the West especially, status and money are only important features in men for a (significant) minority of women. Most women will follow their feelings and accept a low earning man if he gives her those feelings.

So the answer is to be the kind of man a woman wants to be with. It is not actually all that hard.

Easy. You don't have to be "climb the latter crazy Japanese salary man " to get girls.

Have a stable job or some sort of passive income like rented out real estate so you're not gonna run out of money or anything (being destitute is never gonna have you find a life partner).

Once you have your basic needs and income secured.. find a passion. History? Mma? Sports? Those are mine. You like drawing? Calligraphy? Slam poetry? Nature hikes? Whatever. Just have some sort of thing you're super passionate about that IS NOT ANIME, VIDEO GAMES, PORN, TV, SOCIAL MEDIA, etc. Those are unattractive hobbies.

Of course, you'll need to be somewhat fit (<20% body fat at MAXIMUM) and somewhat attractive (average or better) to overcome the negative of being unambitious. Also, being smart (&street smarts) helps. Women don't like incompetence, and not having a good job means a woman might think you actually CAN'T have a good job and climb the ladder. She needs to know you can but decided not to bc of your calligraphy addiction or whatever. Competence is sexy, not money, assuming you disregard the few wacko gold digging hos.

Other than that.. be confident and social

Rather than.. "ambition".. something that I've pondered.

Given that I have the freedom to do anything in life, what would that be that fulfills me?

With that in mind, I go out to achieve it.

And if so doing so, I happen to climb the ladders of ambition and achieve success, then it will be in service to my fulfillment.. rather than yearning for the undeserved fruits of success.

Essentially, aim at what fulfills you as an individual.. and the rest will fall into place through your efforts in achieving so.

Not sure if this makes sense. It's a kinda paradoxically granted and unorthodox. That said, there needs to be a minimum. We gotta still pay the bills and buy groceries.

Are you just talking about careers here or about anything? If you lack the motivation to do much you probably aren't going to get much in return. Like sitting around the house playing video games all day is very unlikely to land you a girlfriend.

Realize that that word - ambition - is meaningless, and just as they lack "ambition", other women also lack "ambition". Most likely your problem is that you just don't care about what most people do, and "lack ambition" is a lazy way of saying it.

Plenty of men "lack ambition" as well as plenty of women.

Pretending that just men don't care about the corporate ladder is just as wrong as tons of other things.

Of course, if you trully are happy with your station, then you wouldn't try to find the answer in pill debates that are copy-paste boilerplate, as if men and women are factory robots. And if you don't agree they slap "biology" or "evolution" to what they made up and bon appetit

I'm a non-ambitious man. At least not in the way that attracts an average woman. I don't care for a car or a bigger appartment, I don't wear designer clothes, I don't strive for some official recognition for the work I do or a fancy title next to my name.

Good news is, there are some women who don't care. I'm dating one right now, it's been a few years now. Bad news, at least in my experience, is that such women are incredibly rare. I had women express literal disgust at me being content with my life or not wanting to assert dominance over other people.

There’s a massive difference between climbing the socioeconomic ladder and being a loser.

For one, what does that mean? You could find a guy steadily working and making 60-80k a year comfortably in his 30’s with a home, nice car, and find a ton of people on the internet or on dating apps who look at that guy and say “he’s not ambitious.”

I might not necessarily call that guy “ambitious” either, but that certainly doesn’t make him a loser or mean it’s hard to date or find women.

The way things get signaled on the internet you’d think people either live in a major metropolitan area making 6 figures or they’re in bumfuck nowhere making less than $20,000 a year working at a gas station.

But seriously, it basically comes down to: what is the lifestyle you would ideally want, that’s satisfying to you? Okay, now work on building that, and find someone who wants the same. It doesn’t need to be classically “ambitious,” so long as you are clear in your own mind what gives you fulfillment and peace and can find someone similar.

Yes there are women out there who also refuse to move out from their parents and get a job, and maybe you could start a relationship with one, but the problem is how are you going to meet each other?

But I disagree that its becoming cheaper to survive. It's absolutely not.

ETA judging from the comments I may have taken "no ambition" too literally. If you just mean men who aren't working a high powered job, then sure. Just like, meet a normal woman and settle down with her, nowt to it really.

Think long and hard whether this lack of ambition is sourced from a genuine lack of interest in the rat race or from a sense of despair. If it's the latter then yes, the answer is actually "just become ambitious lul". However if it's from the former, then just continue on as is. Either someone finds that sense of peace attractive, or you will come to the realization that you don't need that either.

I find there are women down for no amvitioj orovided they're attracted to you. They're udually either similarly ubambitious or they're suoer driven and they like the lack of ambition in their personal lives to contrast the long work and study hours.

But these women are also way more open to hookups and not exactly the nose clean cross your t's types. If you aren't playing the grindset power couple odds are they also aren't necessarily shooting for you being the white picket fence dad either, even if they may be open to that eventually.

IMO thats what its summed up as. You can play the cool slacker and get in that way but you're gonna need to accept being the kind of unambitious guy thats appealing.

forget ambition and just chase a hobby or a craft you like. basically just pursue what you like.

and i don't mean reading books or playing video games. but woodworking, painting, playing music, coding, writing, whichever skill you like. and go pursue that. forget women, most people will begin to think more highly of you if you had a highly honed skill that you loved.

either find a woman who’d prefer to be the breadwinner or find someone who’s also happy just getting by - that being said, if your only interest is making enough to just survive with no space for luxury spending, you’re already shooting yourself. In order to meet someone and date you’ll either have to spend money on yourself, on hobbies, or even nightlife if that’s what you want.

The idea is to make enough to support yourself + spend flexibly in your free time - once you’re there you can put yourself in situations where you can meet someone, otherwise - you can’t have your cake and eat it too

Just a side note, the average woman needs no ambition to easily find a partner.

My son has lived in a house with his mom her bf and his 27 yo step sister.

She is morbidly obese, no job, never had one she literally plays world of war craft 24/7 she hardly leaves her room.

She's had several marriage proposals many boyfriends and has left the house to go live with these men often but never for long months or like a year bc it doesn't take long for the sex to wear off and the man realizes she's useless

But still, always so much opportunity bc she has boobs and a vagina... Even if it's all burried under hundreds of pounds of cellulite

Ambition isn't necessarily a virtue.

As basic survival and healthcare has become easier and more accessible with less work.

Where do you see this happening? I'm in the US and here it takes about four times as much work to live half as well as earlier generations and still be in more debt. Grandparents could afford a home and a college education on a few years of a minimum wage job, as well as support a spouse and children. You can't do that anymore.
