I find men judge woman on their height just as woman judge man on their height

I know many short men who would date a tall woman (Not taller, but tall). I am one of them. I know very few tall women who would date a short man (not shorter, but short). I don't disagree with your overall premise that dating as a tall woman is extremely disadvantaged, but most tall women in my life also lock themselves out of possibilities by choice as well. They often end up dating guys who are even taller, the same men who many, many other women are also chasing.

It is what it is but I hate how men promote themselves as least shallow on height

Because from personal observations, it's true. There are preferences, but they are not so nearly as stiff. The two tall women I've dated (I'm 5'3", they were 5'8-5'10") were both ultimately victims of their own insecurity being next to me. The 5'8" woman made it a rule going forward she could only date someone who was at least an inch taller than her. The 5'10" woman had some other things going on, and we probably could have worked out since she's kind of introverted and isolated from societal pressure. But the short version is, outside of those two, the myriad of other tall women I've asked on dates have mostly said some nice variation of "I'd like to be with someone who makes me feel smaller."

Men are far more accepting of a taller woman than women are of a shorter man. Men are less “shallow” when it comes to height. The reason why men do have preference for a shorter woman is the same as why women prefer taller men, sexual dimorphism most likely

We don't judge so much as assume height disparity preferences scale proportionately with a woman's height. Since most women prefer and end up with men 4-5+ inches taller than them, we assume you would only go for guys that are 6'2" and above.

It only feels like guys are being shallow about height because you probably have an extremely limited pool of guys to choose from, and being 6'2" is pretty desirable for the vast majority of women, so your competition is stiffer.

Some men care about height and some don't. Assuming you don't belittle the guy for being shorter, it shouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately, a lot of taller women tend to also have burley builds, so that might limit you there.

I like smaller women because I'm able to move them around easily and that makes me feel more masculine. I also know women like to feel small which is easier when they are small.

On top of that even if I meet a tall woman I'm attracted to, if she's too tall I wouldn't even bother, because I know women don't like men being shorter than them. And I agree on the reverse I wouldn't want a woman taller than me either, I want to feel bigger than her.

On dating apps I don't swipe on anyone over 5'10 as it's a wasted swipe. I've never received any attention from a woman taller than me on OLD.

Women are the ones that almost need men to be taller than them.

Guys are way more flexible on this. But short guys know women's preference and aren't going to risk a 90% chance of rejection on the off chance a taller woman would be okay with it. If a tall woman is actually okay with a short guy she would need to make it very clear.

In polite conversation women are pretty comfortable sharing their height preference, a guy would only need to spend a cursory amount of time with women in a platonic context to understand how important height is to them.

In my experience guys like tall girls plenty, but women shame tall girls as being un-feminine, and honestly a lot of taller girls find men shorter than them unattractive because they have a need to feel dainty and feminine. And then they turn it around on the guys when they're the ones doing the rejecting.

Personally speaking, I'm into taller women. Whenever Im honest about this I get accused of objectifying people and fetishizing them. Most of the taller women I've met want a man taller than them tho.

When they do go for a shorter guy, it's always some asshole who belittles them and tries to make them feel insecure about their height Saying things like "I'm into shorter women, but you're special"

I like tall women, more than short. Ideal is like 5'5-7, but I'd prefer a bit taller rather than shorter. I think a lot of men prefer shorter women because they are insecure, don't want to be mocked by others. Some just like it.

I'm very tall with a preference for tall women but living in a major city my whole life I don't come across enough tall women. I'm always startled when I see a women 6'0 tall and above without heels. Most men even tall men don't have the luxury of selecting for tall women, plus there are not enough of you to make hard filtering a sensible choice.

I think it’s a power thing. You mentioned high profile men have tall wives. What they lack in stature relative to their wives they make up for with wealth and status. Beyond that most men don’t have the confidence or “power” to deal with a woman being taller than them, and most women aren’t as attracted to a man shorter than her anyway. So most guys don’t bother with taller girls. I’ve become fairly good at dealing with women but if a girl is about my height or taller it does subconsciously affect me. I know my odds with her are automatically lower so I act differently, for better or for worse.

Men prefer petite women, men also like women who are taller than them, it's the middle ground where she is kinda tall, but not tall enough to be noteworthy where men tend to be more likely to pass.

That being said; height isn't as important for women as it is for men. Factors like height:weight ratio, agreeableness, and the appearance of fertility are much more important.

You can still easily have Chads falling all over you at 5'7" if you get the other stuff right.

I’m not sure how people can say being tall is a bad thing. Most women who are cheerleaders or models are on the taller side. I think its true for doctors/lawyers etc too.

It mostly has to do with mens feelings, insecurities and their percieved power or lack there off when a big scary woman comes near them.

In my case, I love tall women. Im 5.11 (24) and my gf is just about shorter than me, just like a 1 cm shorter and I love it. Its the best feeling in to world to be able to look her straight into her eyes and kiss her. Whats different in my case ?

I dont care about power dynamics in dating. I dont care about masculinity nor femininity as a concept. I dont like them, i find them extremely limiting (mainly hate the riggid and boring masculine) and see them as something only to punish individuals who do not adhere to them. So my main focus in dating was to find somebody nice, someone funny, someone I can imagine a life with.

But I am a man, I love to be strong , concentrated , possitive and I love to protect my tall girl. I love to be able to take care of her. I do these things because I love doing them, not because im supposed to because Im a man.

When it comes to girls , I love girls who are around my height. I dont date short women 5.0 to 5.5 , they are too small for my liking , 5.7 and up us the best , 5.11 being the sweet spot.

Celebrities tend to run short unless their whole thing revolves around being tall and buff. Short people tend to be better proportioned on average so the 5'6-5'9 range has a lot of reasonably famous actors.

It's not a bad thing, most men are pretty neutral on height, and these days if a man let's say wants to date primary tall women all the internet activists are going to accuse him of being a "fetishizer" lol

Not to mention most women want to date a guy that's taller than them, so if you're a woman who's around 6 ft tall you're probably going to want to date a guy who's taller which cuts out even more of your dating options

As far as man being attracted to petite women, my wife is barely 5 ft tall, while her height was not some key point in my attraction I do like throwing her around when she's not pregnant of course lol

My ex wife was 6'. Our friends' circle of couples at the time contained at least one woman who was taller than her.

Most men do go for shorter women but for someone my height, a woman who is shorter than 5'5" would pose physical challenges.

I don't think that men select on height as aggressively as women do.
