Everyone knows what ghosting is. It's when you simply disappear from an ongoing set of interactions. It can happen in the early stages of interactions, when ghosting is essentially a statement of "no thanks" or disinterest. "I was interested, or thought I was. I'm not. Bye." It can also happen with friendships. It can also happen with dating relationships.

People don't like ghosting. They don't like it when someone they might be interested in just disappears without a trace and without a word. But, that said, some say it's become acceptable. It's acceptable because it's become a common, widespread practice. And because it's widespread, we should expect to be ghosted at some point.

It's like men and rejection. Rejection is a way of life for men. It's just part of our lives. We expect it to happen. Same for ghosting. Ghosting is just part of life and culture now.

Then there are those who say it is not acceptable or it shouldn't be accepted. Or, "ghosting" is ok at the earlier stages of interactions because it's just another way of soft rejecting someone.

Is ghosting "acceptable" because everyone does it?
