Is a strange way to perceive it. If you aren’t attracted to the same sex, it isn’t about inferiority or superiority. It just is.

I’d say “heteros” finding it challenging to align on stuff and find compatibility has always been a thing.

It’s in the name: “different” or “other.”

I know the common adage “opposites attract” is a thing, but it’s always been my observation that people with similar temperaments, worldviews, humor, values, and personality types tend to be more compatible and thus have less friction when partnering together longterm.

If you have to constantly work hard to have less friction with one another then maybe you’re a bit too hetero wrt each other and not that compatible?

I think historically hetero couples who weren’t that aligned were societally compelled to partner off or one or both were forced to partner off. That’s not happening as much in the present day. That’s the diff.

Being heterosexual is like being religious before the secular era: People once thought it was a given that the majority of the population was this way until infighting started among the masses. That's when it became increasingly apparent that there are alternatives to what is presented as the norm, which in turn caused many to question the validity of that norm.

We're going through a sexual identity revolution which involves a bit of a "civil war" between the genders. Let's hope that a ceasefire will happen soon because we all need each other no matter how we identify as.

Heterosexuality is selected for because that's what makes babies so it will never go to the bottom unless people begin lying to themselves and each other to be cool/ maintain harmony.

Both dynamics come with their own cultural expectations and unique set of issues. I agree with you though. I’ve had some shitty girlfriends but they don’t begin to compare to how shitty the men I’ve dumped are. Atleast in queer relationships things feel egalitarian. Most of the issues I had while dating women were just homophobic people (and them trying to move in immediately lol)

My current partner is the first man I’ve been with that doesn’t have weird hangups about his masculinity/isn’t insanely controlling our relationship actually feels mutually supportive. I honestly think that men that are comfy with women being full humans(with everything that entails) and don’t put them on a pedestal are having an easier time adjusting.

One isn’t better than the other. But atleast in my experience in heterosexual relationships it’s a lot easier to find yourself in a harrowing situation (atleast if you’re a woman)

There is no growing divide, this is the same pop culture drivel that is used to drive ad revenue that has gone on for centuries. The ideas, and comments made about the opposite sex are the same ones that have etched on the walls of Roman bath houses, and Egyptian papyrus. If you read newspaper articles from 1840, they'll have the same comments in them, that you'll find on this sub, word for word.

Y'all are too attached to your online identities, this current iteration of the battle of the sexes is mostly an online phenomenon. In the real world, it's not a big deal. Heteronormativity is still the overwhelmingly dominant lifestyle. LGBTQ is single digit percentages of the population. When you go out at night, you see men cold approaching women, and women being receptive of it. Contrary to popular belief, women leave bars with men they just met for casual sex. Nearly every woman has casual sex( they don't admit it to publicly because of societal judgement) men love the presence of women, and are largely willing to go out of our way to help women have an enjoyable experience while being out. We aren't groups of competing interests. The idea that we are, is curated to drive engagement.

If your ideology leads to resentment of the sex you are attracted to, then it's maybe in your best interest to change your ideology, as you can't change your sexuality. Why do you cling to an ideology that makes you resent the only sex you are attracted to? What ideology is so important and impactful on your life that you would skip having a relationship with the sex you are attracted to for? Also, do we see this happening?

I am a traditional guy.

Some of the young women who meet me, don't say it but they are like "are u dumb? you've money and all, just take me on a date, spend on me and sleep with me untill you are bored".

I've seen some of them really can't understand, I've no desire to sleep with random women who I feel nothing more than lust.

I am not at a point where "increasing score" adds anything to my value.

For them I am not a "Real man" Or the "Bad Boy" they find in clubs who is stringing along dozens of women.

Funny enough, I meet women who are striving to be this "bad boy" by emulating everything he does from smoking, drinking, drugs to sleeping with innocent men or bad boys and ghosting them etc....

And irony, is these girls have spent more than a few year being depressed after first time played by the player.

That level of pain and suffer?

I often ask them, he broke your heart and you set out to do same to other men? They didn't wrong you. And their answer is, all men are same.

Luckily, not all women are like this but you'll find these kind plenty on tinder, parties, clubs, bars etc...

Want to get your heart broke? Go to these places.

After that once your all emotions, efforts etc.. are consumed due to lack of experience, you'll end up at pill ideologies, some may never try again.

Heterosexuality isn't inferior or superior than any other sexual orientation, people are just more hateful towards others ( especially the opposite gender )than ever. People love to call out others for their mistakes and issues, yet struggle seeing their own or simply don't care enough to address them and not to mention acting like a victim is fairly encouraged nowadays.

Also nowadays people see everything as an gender, race etc. related issue and not simply as people issue and therefore this creates Us Vs Them mentality, which is extremely toxic to us as people and everybody else.

Orientation is not a choice, so it is strange to evaluate benefits.

But with the rise of resentment, risks of relationships and so on - asexuality would probably rise. It is difficult to intentionally switch sex you are attracted to. But it is possible to dampen libido.

Social expectations can make relationships harder or easier, but the human sex parts just fit together best in a heterosexual way, so that isn't changing. That being said, traditional couplings are in decline, as are families worldwide, so clearly something is changing. I think its more technological than ideological, and reddit is closer to the fringe edge of the tech, so this forum tends to draw out the most affected people, so it seems more ideological, but more normal people are more obsessed with their phones than anything else, so I am going to blame that.

I don't think sexualities can necessarily be called inferior or superior. They just are. And its not so simple to alter them.

But I also don't think it's necessary to change them. We don't need to change our sexuality in order to live successful, dignified lives. We can replace females. With porn, sex workers and dolls we can to significant degree satisfy our libido. For those of us who need family and kids there are passports. For emotional and just general support there are male friends, they are far superior to females anyway.

And ones you have done that you stop caring what they think or want. They're validation becomes meaningless. I don't care for validation of a whore I fuck as much as I care for the opinion of waitresses that serves my food. She is a function nothing else. She provides what I pay for or she gets replaced. So don't change yourself or your sexuality brothers, don't think you or your sexuality is inferior to anyone elses. Just replace, reduce and decenter females. It's much more satisfying and easier.

Very slowly, but yes, and resentment has very little to do with it. Women themselves believe that they have always been resentful of men, and that men have always been resentful of them. We're just drowning in "mental buzz", with every economic instability, military conflict, or natural disaster being blasted into our faces from every news segment, with insane labor market where each worker has to compete with the entire rest of the world, and where nothing is as scarce as serenity and silence. All of this incentivises people in general to stay away from each other as much as possible, not just the sexes.

What makes you think that's true? The male homosexual community has huge problems around fidelity, STDs/disease, commitment, drugs and sex etc. The female homosexual community has huge problems with failed marriages, domestic abuse, sexual decline etc.
