So here's the thing.
Being a guy and waiting for girls to approach you is like banging your head against a concrete wall and wondering why won't the wall break.
As a man, you take the initiative. That's what masculinity is.
You need to understand how gender dynamics work
That'll clear a lot of things in your head.
So don't feel bad as it's just an experience. Learn from it and improve.
I didn't have my first kiss until age 24.
So everyone is on their own pace.

This is not true, I am being approached by woman all the time, but the thing is they are not so obvious. Your job is to level up the play.
Good luck though.
[–]froze_gold 25 points26 points27 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
No, this is the truth. Some guys like yourself might get approached more often and that's great but that's your experience. The demographic is also accounted for.
Not to mention that letting girls come to you is making you complacent, imagine one day the girls just stop coming up to you. What's your move? Suddenly you're needy for attention because it was withdrawn and now you're out trying to get that piece back into place and you don't know how to approach because it wasn't your realm.
[–]Anussauce 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Men lead. That’s the way it is.
[–]BensMomsBoner 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Who says I want that kind of girls. Most of the time I reject them. No fun...
[–]Woujo 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Very few men get approached by women on any kind of regular basis. You are either lying or you have a very unique experience.
[–]BensMomsBoner -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You are thinking about the direct term 'approach'.
Read my previous comment with understanding...
[–]Woujo 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Your comment sucks and makes no sense.

[–]Woujo 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Thats not "getting approached" because the onus is still on the man to make the conversation happen.
[–]Kundalini-Electric 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
How do you know you're being approached if they aren't being obvious?
They are being subtle. That's the game.

as a man, you take initiative
That's not really true. Not for a lot of men anyways. The guys who take initiative are the guys who get hit on and flirted with by women. The guys who don't, don't. Why would I ever take that chance when I have no reason to think it wouldn't go terribly wrong?
It's also a double standard that belongs back before the 2000s. Plenty of women ask men out, and there's nothing wrong with that. And I think given how often women get hit on, catcalled, etc. and how easy it is for women to get weirded out by guys being flirty with them, it actually makes more sense for women to be the initiators. That's just my take on it, the whole "gender dynamics" stuff is bs.
[–]Certifiably_Quirky 15 points16 points17 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
What are you even saying? I'm your age and men are still expected to initiate. How can you say it's gendered bs for men to initiate but not gendered bs to expect women to be the ones to flirt first. The only people women ask out first are super attractive guys.
If you're really having trouble, then try online dating so you match with someone that you're compatible with.
Or stay single if you don't want to listen to advice. What's the point of posting here if you were just gong to argue with everyone who has more experience than you? And in a seduction sub no less which is partly about having game as a man and approaching numerous women.
[–]EducationalMeeting95 23 points24 points25 points 3 years ago (58 children) | Copy Link
Not before 2000. Before modern civilizations existed.
Cal it double standards, hypocrite or whatever That's how world works.
You can call it bs all day
Or understand it and learn to play the game and get girls.
A lot of your opinions are based on incorrect thinking.
But you're young, you have time to get better.
I'd suggest you to get deeper into this and study how attraction and dating works before calling it bs.
[+][deleted] -11 points-10 points-9 points 3 years ago (57 children) | Copy Link
If that's the only way it works then it's stupid at best. But that's not the only way it works, just a narrow view of how some people view it.
[–]Classy-Tater-Tots 16 points17 points18 points 3 years ago (56 children) | Copy Link
Dude, that's the way it's been for humans for like 200,000 years of evolution. We can all agree that it shouldn't be that way in modern times BUT it still is. You can accept that and move forward with an active understanding, knowledge and plan or not and keep going how you are. Is the latter leading you to a happy fulfilling life?
[+][deleted] -15 points-14 points-13 points 3 years ago (55 children) | Copy Link
I still don't think you understand the bigger picture is. Even if guys are expected to ask girls out, and assuming I actually believe that's the best way to go about dating, I still come out on bottom. Most guys asking girls out either have signs that the girl is interested, or have had luck with women in the past and have the confidence to take a chance like that. In my own case I have neither, so why the hell would I ever find it a good idea to ask a girl out? There's no reason to unless I find that girls are actually somewhat interested in the first place, even though they're not actually "making a move"
[–]Classy-Tater-Tots 15 points16 points17 points 3 years ago (49 children) | Copy Link
This whole community exists because other men have had this problem. Have accumulated a bunch of knowledge and want to spread it to others to help. How narcissistic do you have to be to think that you're the only one?
I was 100 lbs overweight and had no idea how to ask a girl out at your age. The world is unfair, let's accept that and move on. Men need to get their life together and pursue women and the other things we want. Start doing that, eat healthy, exercise, cultivate some interests and skills, and yes talk to women. Absolutely, many won't be interested. Some will be interested. The interested ones can continue to first dates, multiple dates, sex, relationships and more.
[–]EducationalMeeting95 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
The problem here is not that he doesn't know.
But when offered wisdom and knowledge he's discarding it saying it's stupid etc.
He first needs to understand basic communication and having an open mind before he moves on to dating.
[–]Classy-Tater-Tots 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, I completely agree. To be honest, I was trying to be a bit blunt intentionally to try and drive that point home.
[–]EducationalMeeting95 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
When you're trying to help a stranger do good in life and then they have this immature attitude.
Sucks.
[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago (39 children) | Copy Link
Where did I ever imply I was the only one with that issue? Calling me narcissistic for not knowing how I'm supposed to ask girls out when I get no attention from them is soooo far of a stretch that you're gonna be sore from that tomorrow.
You still never answered the question either. You're answering something I never asked for. Stop telling me that guys make the moves. I know that. I'm asking you to tell me how I'm supposed to be able to do that under the assumption that girls are completely uninterested in me. Because that makes it impossible to try that when all I can think of is how miserable I'll make some poor girl with the thought that I'm interested in her
[–]Classy-Tater-Tots 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link
I'm implying you're narcissistic because you're immediately dismissing all the help people are trying to give you and just repeating Woe is Me. Sorry, if that's harsh but I want you to understand dismissing the insight people are trying to give you isn't helping your cause.
You're not going to like this answer but it's this: You're not. If you continue with the attitude you have, you aren't going to be successful asking a girl out and honestly she should turn down a man who will drag her life down and make her happy.
Here's the good news. You can fix it. You need to build up your sense of self respect, self value and self esteem.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link
You know, that's really hard to do when all it seems like is people don't want me around
[–]AstralLondor 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
Dude, if a girl comes up to you and asks you on a date, will it make you miserable? Even if you're not interested, it's still a compliment that someone considers you attractive! Why is it any different for you?
I have had my fair share of rejections. I have never made any woman miserable. In fact, the most common response, is "Thank you"
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
Why would I, a guy who has never had a girl like him, be miserable if a girl asked me out? I'd assume it was some shitty prank but I wouldn't be miserable.
A good way to put it is that I'm not someone who would make a girl feel flattered if I asked her out. I wouldn't want to make a girl uncomfortable with that thought so I don't.
[–]tudor3325 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
How are women supposed to be interested in you if you never talk to them or if you are a loser? From what I’ve read you are a loser that never talks to them. Get your confidence up and talk to women so they can see that you exist
[–]Thony311 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That last sentence is the problem. You actually dont know 100% that they aren’t interested in you until they say so or show blatant repulsion. This sub talks about cold approaches all the time in which the woman doesnt even know they exist until they are talking to her.
Build up your confidence and that thought should go away.
[–]Flairtor 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Work on your ego, self esteem and confidence brother, it's clearly lacking. Approaching a girl should not leave her any worse off than before. At worst, she'll be mildly annoyed or weirded out or perhaps even amused, at best you made her day. You're going in with the wrong mindset.
[–]flexifootprincess 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Why they hell you would find it a good idea to ask a girl out? Because you want to go out with her??? Right?? Yes some females will take initiative, but MANY will not. Many females might not even flirt with you or seem like they are flirting with you. You won’t know if you don’t try, and you don’t sound like you’re willing to try. You can even just try approaching women and initiating conversation before you feel out if you would ask her out. But literally. Just try…. If you would rather wait for someone to find you, then keep waiting. But really, I think you’ll have better luck if you’re willing to take risks and put a little bit of effort in too.
[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I don't feel like I could... it's not so much a rejection thing as it is that I wouldn't want to embarass a girl or make her feel bad for asking her out. The only way I wouldn't be risking that is if she were already interested but that's never happened
[–]flexifootprincess 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You don’t know that for a fact. And you won’t give anyone a chance to be interested if you don’t try and have conversations. Most women would not be upset or embarrassed. But if that is the case then she will shut it down and then you can move on. So it seems like it is a fear of rejection. You are going to have to put in effort to make some first moves, start conversations, get to know people, and then give them a chance to get to know you….you can’t “play it safe” forever. You HAVE to take a “risk” at some point to attract someone. (Also self deprecation is turn off for a lot of people) but if you’re not willing to do that, then go ahead and keep waiting and doing nothing…you seem to be waiting for a woman to just see you and fall madly in love with you without ever talking to you and then approach you and ask you out. If that’s what you want then go ahead and keep waiting. But I’m telling you that realistically, most women will not do that. Attraction comes from getting to know you first. Which means you should put yourself out there….but…to each their own, I suppose.
Bro you are so unbelievably wrong it's laughable. Getting signs of interest isn't so clear cut so most guys asking girls out take a chance and if she's uninterested they move on till they find someone who is interested. You're assumptions are very wrong, there is a good amount of guys who do this without success in the past and go on hope and randomness, it's not always the way you describe.
Also sorry to say, asking a girl out is the least of your problems, that's the easy part, it's every part that comes after that is hard, maintaining constant interests, escalating and progressing things and not fucking up. You'll learn that some day.
[–]capbassboi 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
But OP, you literally said in your post that you don't ask women out. Maybe that's the problem? Go out to a bar or a club, practice speaking to strangers, smile and show a bit of charisma and energy and try and get some numbers or initiate further depending on the vibe. Simply put, you're gonna get rejected a lot, but unfortunately this is the way of life and you have to respect how many dickheads women deal with on a daily basis and not a lot of them are going to always be receptive to flirty behaviour. If you go to a bar or club, ideally one that plays your kind of music and suits your vibe, look around, scout the place out. Sometimes all it takes is for a lady to look in your direction and look away instantly at the same time as you look back to show interest. It doesn't have to be overt flirting or touchy feely behaviour. Like I said, men have a sense of entitlement with female attraction, so if you show that kind of attitude then you're going to get no further.
[–]AstralLondor 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
You're partly right. Women do ask men out, but statistically it's rarer and more commonly applies to dating in their 30's/40's when men have more choice in the dating market. In late teens and 20's, women have more choice, so they have less reason to ask men out unless they're exceptional in some way. Women are also just in general, (even more than guys) deathly scared of rejection.
Also, it's just like with friendships. If you sit around waiting for people to come befriend you, it's going to be much harder than if you go out there and start inviting people to hang out. It's the same deal with dating.
I never got any female attention in high school. Nevertheless, I got my first girlfriend at 18, and she was the first person I ever asked out on a date.
My advice: Don't wait for female attention. Just ask them on a date, and see what happens!
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
But how am I supposed to do that when I'm obviously not someone girls want to be around?
I also don't know how people ask others out on a date to begin with. I wouldn't ask a girl out that I don't know, but I also wouldn't ask out a girl I want to be friends with (because I'd rather have a friend than not have one after a rejection). When am I supposed to do that?
[–]GlowinUp8 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The part you’re missing is that it’s all an assumption. They are literally just another person. Ask someone out, it’s just a date not sex or marriage. Take dating off it’s high horse, it’s just two people exploring what could be. If you don’t feel confident go do self improvement and fix that. No girl or relationship will fix that. If you think women don’t pay attention to you, make them, make an effort to talk to them and be in circles and places with them. I learned that NOTHING will change if you don’t change them. If you want attention from women, go get it. Some guys have qualities and personalities that make it easier but everyone does the same thing. Last thing, please don’t give up on yourself. You’re not perfect and you’re bound to make mistakes and to run into people who manipulate you. Dm if you wanna talk more, I’m here to help.

Where did you get this words ?my mother, she is in her fifties, and men always approach her, and of all ages, even the handsome and tall, if there is a woman approaching, it is because she wants to, not because her options are few
[–]tudor3325 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
And why would you care if it goes terribly wrong? You learn from mistakes and rejection is nothing to be afraid of. Women are people and most of the time they are more insecure than men. Talking to them is easier than you think.
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
I'd care because I don't want to come off as a creep for making a move on a girl who doesn't want anything to do with me. I don't worry about rejection, I worry about being "that guy" who asked a girl out and creeped her out. Because if that's me then I'll never have any chance
[–]tudor3325 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

A woman who has multiple dudes that are asshats, and try to make them like her after she declined, won't ruin your reputation for simply asking her out and bailing.

Maybe the top 5-10% of guys in terms of physical attraction can get hit on very mildly often. But for most of the rest of us, we have to put our selves in the position to talk to women in a flirty manner.
[–]tudor3325 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I’m gonna be straight forward, you are a fucking idiot for thinking that XD. Watch social animal and see for yourself. Women most of the time love to be approached and that’s the first step in getting women. Gender dynamics isn’t bullshit, your logic is. If you don’t get girls, it’s nobody’s fault except yours.

One of the only dudes with real content. Most dating coaches make it even harder to get women because of the bad advice they give. I like that social animal puts it the exact way it is, you just have to talk to women and get rid of the fear. Everything else is not very important.
[–]50_Gang_Mustang 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah I like the way he frames it as it’s literally just a natural human to human interaction that doesn’t need extra pressure to it. As long as you express yourself to that person and communicate what you want/need to say it doesn’t really matter what the other person reactions are granted you your self don’t look ridiculously crazy or scary or say something outrageous

Alex is mostly text game for tinder/bumble.
And John Anthony mostly disses others to make his channel grow. Which is a good strategy but I don't trust him.
I won't recommend you any course as such cuz most of the stuff is free on yt.
The only advice I'll give you is to keep going out and approaching. With every failure, analyse what you did wrong and improve.

You'll learn magnitudes more this way than any other thing.

OP, don’t be so hard on yourself. There are guys much older than you with successful careers, in good shape, who are also in the same boat. How are you supposed to learn this stuff? We don’t learn it at school, and those with natural abilities (perhaps your brother) are seldom capable of spelling it out to those of us who need help.
Here’s the deal though: being old enough to shave doesn’t automatically make you a man in the eyes of women. You need to build your confidence and cultivate your sense of masculinity if you want women to notice you. Right now your self doubt is undermining your goal.
If you want some tips: * Do something that scares you every day, or at least every week * Learn how to carry yourself with confidence * Learn a martial art - men who know how to handle themselves physically carry themselves differently from others * Develop social competence - this means interacting with lots of people, not just those you find attractive * Check your styling - you need to look sharp enough to justify someone giving you some attention, plus when you look sharp you feel confident
If you need more detailed guidance, I’ve shared some “how to” guides here: https://bedbarsbeyond.substack.com/p/cultivating-attractive-qualities
[–][deleted] 39 points40 points41 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
It's very unlikely that you will be directly approached by any girl. She can just wait a bit more if you are indecisive, and she will be approached by some other guy.
But I guess your main problem is that you didn't really pay any effort to be attractive for females. Dating scene bar is getting higher and higher and you got just out of the main stream because you didn't care about rising your attraction level. I would suggest for the start to take care of your appearance (exercise, clothes, hairstyle, hygiene, perfume), read some basic articles about women's true nature and seize any opportunities you have to talk to girls in your social circumstances. It will take same time, you will not get female attention just by accident.
[–]HomeschoolProm 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Wdym by womens true nature? And what reads do you recommend to learn about this
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
There are really plenty of these things among the Internet, just the basic stuff for the start. About women immense sexuality, about their real view on ideal sex partner, about hidden motives behind their words. Just to grasp simple concepts that women want sex very much, what man you should become to get their interest and to look at their actions, not their words.
[–]HomeschoolProm 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
So any particular reads you recommend? I’ve read models but I’m relatively new to this sub and game in general. Just trying to soak up all the info I can
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I don't have anything particular in English, but it doesn't really matter, most PUAs have pretty similar concepts, especially as it comes to foundations. Follow your intuition with finding materials, you should pick up the style that suits you the most.

Ive hung out with quite a few male models due to a previous job and no, they dont get approached either. Women are passive and many of them are very shy even. They will put themselves in your area though in hopes you approach her.

To be fair it's not really common to be cold approached by a guy either, whenever I ask the girls I approached, how often they have been approached before, they mostly either say never or maybe two three times.

you don't need to be male model but you're right in that it's somewhat rare and you need to be well above average.
I have 2 friends (out of maybe 300 friends) who get approached by random girls non stop. Very handsome dudes. They're not models as a job, but i'm guessing they could be
[–]jeffcheal 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
How do you have 300 friends? Are you like a club promoter or something?
[–]kakeporyou21 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yup exactly, I have one friend who gets approached all the time. He’s a great looking dude, but he’s not a model either. For us normal looking dudes we just need to put more work in.
[–]Initial-Laugh1442 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
As simple as that. On the other hand, OLD is the terrain of the "above average" looking guys, due to the demand & supply imbalance. Unfortunately a lot of dudes are also socially inept, which makes approach in real life also difficult. Two ways of improving: 1) become as attractive as possible (gym, style, career), within the genetic cards in hand; 2) develop social skills (flirting, humor, empathy).
[–]Free_Joty 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That’s a lot of friends
[–]modidlee 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Men get approached when they have that perfect storm of “super attractive guy” + “overly aggressive woman.” The vast majority of women won’t approach even the most attractive guy. They’ll just give him signs that he can approach them.
[–]StijnHansen 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Not true. I would say I am high above average when it comes to attractiveness and it actually works to my disadvantage. Ladies feel much more intimidated and therefore don't dare to approach.
[–]Mr_Believin 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If you are unattractive, make yourself more attractive bit by bit.
Dress better, eat better food, have a job that you like and ideally love
[–]Plenty_Software4415 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Im good looking I get rated a 8-9 by girls usually, I probably got approached like 5 times max my entire life. Girls shoot their “shot” with their glazes.
If you make eye contact with a girl and she holds it for a bit, she thinks your attractive, if they look away without any indication then it was probably accidental, but a lot of girls are shy so look in her direction again to see if she shoots you another glaze.
I do have a a friend that girls just love & approach him. He’s 30 tho

I should add that the girls that do approach you can identify them by their ethnicity, Hispanics & Asians (countries that are very gender roles dynamic) DO NOT approach first.
African American and white women are more likely to approach. Black women primarily tho from my experience
[–]jtaylor27141 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ya the woman that approached me in the bus I mentioned earlier was African American, who had just moved to my city from a different city.
Also she was not attractive but because she was ballsy I gave her a shot.

Here's how I found it goes:
Women in general tend not to approach men. Even attractive men rarely get approached.
As I got fitter and more muscular, I would get more approaches, but it still isn't the norm. And it's not the hot girls who approach me. It's the chubbier ones and the older ones who are more likely to approach because they need to put in more work than the hot ones. The few times I do get approached, it's by women I'm not interested in that I have to politely turn down, and I still have to take the initiative and put in the work to approach the woman I actually am interested in.
And even when women do approach… they pretty much still expect you to do the work and lead the interaction and ask them out. It's more like, "maybe if I go up to him and get his attention, that will prompt him to ask me out." They women still don't do the work of asking you out themselves. And they barely know how to open and start a conversation. It's like, saying "hi" and expecting you to take it from there.

(Last praragraph) Considering Women are really sociable it's weird how socially awkward they are.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I would say I'm an attractive guy and that's not true at all. I still have to approach, but they make it a lot easier for you if they have interest. You have to put yourself out there regardless

I would say I am average and I got approached. Not often, but it happened.

Thats like wondering how the hell do people ride bikes but you dont even try to get on a bike to learn Slow steps with training wheels first falling a couple times getting back up and trying again into you succeed and it becomes second nature later till your riding with no handle bars you got to try bro stop being a wuss your own brain is tricking you into keeping you in your confort zone like oh they dont want you bro dont do it youre going to emberass and make a fool of yourself fuck your brain it is your own worst enemy challenge your own mind take control of it dont let it take control of you
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
Riding a bike is easy though. Yeah, I fell off but I don't care about myself getting hurt. If falling off my bike hurt other people though then I'd be much more hesitant to try to learn. Which is why I don't ask girls out. It's not that I wouldn't be able to handle a rejection, but I wouldn't be able to go on knowing that I ruined a girl's day by asking her out
[–]modidlee 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
What makes you think you’d ruin a girl’s day by asking her out?
Because sometimes instead of it being flattering it can be gross, depending upon the guy who's asking
[–]BlueShooShoo 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's bs in 99% of the time. At least 5/7 girls that aren't interested in you, will still be flattered. The others aren't negatively impacted by it. Some might laugh, but that's really rare (I've had that maybe 3 times in over 500 approaches).
Stop the cope.
I'm 20 as well by the way.
[–]AnDrE9_8 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
I don't really think that's what is keeping you from approaching girls, I'm just like you, I'm 23, got my first kiss at 21 and never had sex, even tho I think I'm a decent to pretty looking guy (1,80m tall, blue eyes, fit ecc), but what i lack is confidence, being able to withstand the rejection and even my sexual experience, I'm scared that if I got lucky with a girl and we are going to have sex I either do a really bad job and she understands that she was my first and tells to everybody or I won't even start it because I would be so stressed i couldn't make a move. Moreover, i think that girl do take joy from guys coming to them even tho they reject them (just don't go for the 9,10s they get way too much attention and they probably get irritated when too many guys are approaching). 1 more thing, if you really think that no girl wants you around is probably because it's you in the first place don't like your self, try to change that mentality, start working out, eat healthy ecc, if you start looking good you'll notice girls check you out way more.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I'm not really unhealthy. I wouldn't consider myself good looking but I can't really be objective about it. All I can say is that there are way worse looking guys than me. But I think girls don't want me because I never get attention from them. I feel like that's a pretty reasonable assumption, no?
[–]AnDrE9_8 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I mean only like the top 5 to 20% men get attention from girls, that's because they are rich, good looking or both, some may have amazing game too, girls are attracted to that so of course they show interest to those, because they have everything they want in a man. Most guys don't have that and unfortunately we have to put a lot more work than others, it's just how life is. We need to step up with the confidence, it would be nice if girls started approaching more but that's not how it works, nowadays girls all say everything changed and that they aren't traditionalist anymore, but that's not true, they still want the man to make the first move ecc. My advice is to not wait for them, just try to build the confidence, I'm working on that too and trust me I know it's hard but I don't want to be a virgin all my life so I'm trying everything I can to change that. Good luck bro.
There's a difference between being a virgin and having zero experience with girls whatsoever though. You're many miles ahead of me.
[–]AnDrE9_8 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Trust me, I'm not, i had my first kiss cause i was drunk. Just get off the " i have 0 value" mentality, find a hobby where there are lots of people to talk to (like climbing, it keeps you in good shape and generally people who practice it are very kind and funny), practice talking to people, it will get easier with time. The only time I talk to girls ( other than girl friends) it's when I'm at work, if i see a good looking girl and i have a slight reason to go to talk to her i try to, and remember we miss 100% of the shot we don't take.

[–]Mundane_Natural5131 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
That was just an example i know learning to ride a bike is easier but just use the same principles to learn you got to practice you cant just read a book and then hop in a helicopter you have to actually get in the field and try
Some things have consequences that I'm not gonna be able to handle should they happen.

Oh damn, so you're 20, a virgin who knows it all, and reject every advice anyone here gives you because you know better. Why would any woman want to date you? Would you date you? Your answer is no. You're freaking 20, you have a life ahead of you, of course nobody would date you, because you lack confidence and self-esteem. You're a MAN, you're supposed to be an alpha, to take action. You're going to start by giving me the genZ bullshit explaination that we're not in the 2000's anymore, you were barely born then, you know nothing. All the poeple who give the "attractive and rich" excuse are pussies, end of story. You said your brother's successful, use that. Go with your brother, stay around him more, watch him.

My best advice is to always look confident, relaxed and don't chase girls. Girls can tell when a guy is needy and thats a turn off for them, don't simp for girls either. I know approaching girls in a bar or disco is intimidating, so try other places, for example I used to approach girls in diferent clubs I joined in vacations.
This is also very important, take care of your looks. I'm not saying you should be ripped and look like a model, but always look clean, well dressed and smell nice.
You'll do fine. Cheers
So don't go after girls.... that's what I've been doing to no avail
[–]SoccerFan1417 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Hahaha. Approach, don't chase. When you approach you might look confident, when you chase you might look needy.

Female here throwing in my 2 cents…
I don’t agree with most of the answers you’ve received so far…
People telling you to up your game in the gym, dress sharper, and that average looking guys have to put more work in…
There are different elements to this…
If the girls you are going for are completely shallow, superficial and just want a background hunk to post on their social media then by all means concentrate on hitting the gym, perfecting your blue steel pose and end up spending a longer time in the bathroom than a girl would to get ready for a night out..
If what you’re looking for is to meet a girl you’re attracted to on all levels then I would focus more on coming out of your shell… make her laugh, be silly and have the ability to laugh at yourself, be real, but most importantly… let her know you like her in a non cocky way and be straight..
Most girls I know are turned off by guys who are so into their looks they haven’t left themselves time to have a personality or a sense of humour.. this is the most attractive thing in a man, that he’s at ease with himself and knows who he is without being full of shit or trying to play games
I do agree that most of the advice I'm getting is geared towards a PUA style of approach, towards the women you described. That's not what I want though. If I got buff and changed my style drastically then maybe women would look at me more but it wouldn't really be any more fulfilling, because all that would tell me is that I'm just wanted for looks.
I don't want to jump through hoops to get a girlfriend. I just want to be with someone I feel a connection to not just romantically or sexually, but have a strong friendship with as well (it's called a girlfriend for a reason, imo). I'm not really interested in the IG influencer/model/overuser type, but a lot of what I've seen here assumes that I'm going after them when I really don't want that.
[–]Wonderful_Try_977 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
First off, you need to chill out. Guys here are so guilty of making this minor problem a really big one. All you are doing is getting with girls, it's supposed to be relaxed and natural.
Two things which you are putting a massive barrier in front of by being so negative about your situation.
So, what do you want us to say? that you can do this magic trick and women will come chasing you? unfortunately no.
Women respect boldness and confidence, it's on you to initiate things and make things happen. It's also on you to learn what you need to do, to make the mistakes and learn.
We can't do it for you...
[–]Sawt0othGrin 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I would address fashion and fitness. I don't know where you're at here, but making sure that you're out in properly fitting clothes and then losing weight if it's excessive or toning up a bit. You don't have to do anything crazy. Basic grooming, stay on top of your hair cut, things like that. Practice holding good posture and confident stride as you walk, don't be afraid to make eye contact with people as they pass you.
Understand that women generally don't approach men very often but they do give off choosing signals. Strong eye contact, laughing too much at something you said, messing with their hair are all examples of choosing signals. If you get a couple of signals you should attempt an approach. It's going to be nerve wracking but the only way around it is through it.
[–]OkNefariousness9758 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
It works either way, you can have girls approach you, or you can approach girls. It's all about how you do it. If you want girls to approach you, you have to look approachable. You can't look like an antisocial person even if you are, because if you look antisocial, you will get people to become antisocial with you. If you look sociable and fun to talk to, people will be more inclined to talk to you.
Now when it comes to talking to girls, you can't be nervous, you can't be scared, and you can't feel uneasy. You must be calm, cool, collective and confident. Why? Because if you're nervous and anxious, the girl you're talking to will be nervous and anxious. She will be uneasy and she will find it to be a weird encounter with you. Therefore she will not want to talk to you again because of the feeling that she had. As opposed to you being calm, cool, confident and collective, she will have a calm cool confident and collective conversation with you. When you're confident calm cool, you feel good, and relaxed. She will remember the fact that you made her feel good and relaxed
Remember, women operate through feelings. They remember you mostly by how you made them feel, not what you said. You can say anything, if you say it in a calm and relaxed manner, with a deep voice, she'll go with the flow.
If you have trouble finding confidence within yourself, that's a problem you have to face by yourself. Go to the gym, meditate, and get to know who you are. There's a difference between talking to yourself and getting to know who you are. Look up videos on YouTube on how to connect with your soul, that is where most of your confidence will come from.
Another way to build confidence on talking to girls, is to talk to women that are either attracted to you or women you are not attracted to. When you talk to women you are not attracted to, you get to say things more clearly and you have less anxiety when you talk to. You can also practice sex that way too. Let's say a girl you're not attracted to rejects you, you won't feel bad, you might even laugh at it. Practice this enough, you'll have no problem talking to beautiful women, and you'll have it easier than your brother
If you have any more questions just send a reply and ask. I'll be happy to answer and help my fellow brothers out
[–]Danovitch96 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
I'm also a newbie but a little nervous wouldn't be too bad right? Maybe some women would even interpret it as courage (approaching her despite nervousness), which I believe is an attractive trait.
[–]OkNefariousness9758 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
That's true, and it makes sense, but most women don't think like that. In a woman's mind you shouldn't be nervous if you're meeting people, it should be a nice new experience. But when it comes to doing a certain activity you've never done before, then it's acceptable
Now I'll give you the benefit of the doubt because you're starting out, but when you start practicing, in due time that nervousness will go away. And when you look back, you'll ask yourself why you were even nervous in the first place. You'll start to understand women more. And it'll become much more easy to approach women
It can be really fun depending on how the conversation goes. And try not to use punchlines.... They don't work
[–]Danovitch96 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Ok, but let's say that you are nervous and you know it's easily noticable, isn't it the best thing to just be honest to her about it and say you're nervous approaching and talking to her (and maybe also say you've never or seldom done something like that before)? Seems to me that's a huge weight of your shoulders and that the conversation will go a lot smoother from there...but maybe it depends on the context...
[–]OkNefariousness9758 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You're right, and it may help. All girls are different, some might like it some might not. I've experienced a lot of girls who didn't like it because when they find that you're nervous they automatically correlate it to the stereotypical "weird nerdy boy who doesn't know how to talk to girls" I've always been told by girls that they like guys who've "been there and done that"
Now it's okay to say that you're nervous in the beginning. But like I said with more practice, those feelings will go away. You'll end up forgetting why you're even nervous in the first place. That's why I said don't show them that you're nervous because later on, you literally won't be.
Now if it's your first time, it can definitely get some weight off your shoulders, and she'll think of it as you opening up and being vulnerable if you address your nervousness. Girls like that too, so it can definitely work in your favor but with most of the girls that I've come across, it didn't work
[–]Danovitch96 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
I guess I like women more who can appreciate when I'm being honest and having courage and don't just interpret it as "weird nerdy guy who doesn't know how to talk to women" anyway - it definitely shows some social intelligence on their part - so that turns out good, haha.
But you're right, it's not normal/natural to be nervous for the act of approaching and talking to women, it's from social trauma and conditioning (that can be let go of with experience + inner work, release meditation and such)....or maybe some primal instinct that used to be needed in times when the alpha male would beat us up trying to mate with women, but ok, according to this video: https://youtu.be/0Ti86veZBjU we don't emanate from species where these hierarchies exist so maybe that's bogus, haha
[–]Danovitch96 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Also, I can imagine women finding honesty and the fact that you are aware of your own nervousness and owning it in front of her attractive, but you're right, it depends on the kind of woman and context (like are you making her feel safe or not) I guess...
[–]OkNefariousness9758 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
So basically what I'm trying to say is, sure. You can say that, but in due time those feelings will go away
[–]MeanYeti 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
How do you "look social"?
[–]herendzer 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You know everyone is not meant to have a significant other or some sort of romantic life. I don’t believe mating, and the way to find a mate, should be a hard thing to do. I believe it should come just as natural as eating or going to the restroom etc… If you don’t have the skills , then you are not meant to be so. I don’t think the act of mating or finding a mate is something you learn. You just need to be born with it. Just forget the whole thing and become productive in other parts of your life that require an effort from you.

20 yold is nothing, you have a lot to learn, take your time, hit the gym, read the relevant books. Young people really have little to no perspective, I always get a laugh when I read desperation such as this coming from 16-25 yolds
I don't think being 4 years behind my peers is "nothing". That's 1/5 of my entire life right there
[–]ftdrain 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
4 years behind in what sense? Losing your virginity doesnt do anything, its not a magical event. You can start really late and get a bodycount astronomically higher than people that start at 16. I had sex with 30 different girls within less than a year, a few of them are fwbs, so the number could be considerably higher if all of them were always new. The starting point is not meaningful at all.
It's about the experience level. Most people start that around 16. I'm 4 years older than that, and it only make things worse. First, because I'd feel awkward if my first time was with a more experienced girl, and at this age I have practically no chance of finding a girl with my experience level. And second, because girls would probably feel better being with an experienced guy vs one who has none.

Try online dating until you gain confidence.
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
Online dating to gain confidence? That's funny. I don't think hopping on tinder or bumble to see that nobody matches with me is gonna be a confidence booster by any means. That stuff also doesn't work for people who can't otherwise score a date anyways
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
Not true. I got laid a ton using OLD. You have to change your attitude if you want a better result.
[–]MeanYeti 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Online dating is something that people have very little control over. Even if you have the best profile ever it's still 50/50 if the mysterious algorithm decides to fuck you over or if any girl you match with doesn't want to give you the time of day. For the majority of men OLD is a confidence KILLER, not a booster.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Could you have gotten laid without it? I'm assuming yes in which case this advice cannot apply to me
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Answer: no I couldn’t. I was shy,had no game and zero confidence. I wouldn’t recommend something that didn’t work for me personally
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
OLD has the worst outcomes on average. So if you got lucky there, you definitely could have with other dating means.
No I couldn’t and I already explained the reasons why. OLD allows you to develop your personality and some game. There’s no investment in the outcome because why would I care if some woman I never met, or went out with once on a coffee date blocked me the next day…? I don’t care. Now cold approaching is different. You need to have balls to do it and you have to be able to risk rejection and some women won’t even be nice when they reject you.
There's the fact that your profile is public though. Just that in and of itself would be too embarrassing for me. Knowing that girls all over my university would probably see me there, and I'd probably even have classes with some without even knowing it. If it were to where I would have no risk of seeing anyone unless we matched and met up, that would be different, but I wouldn't want anyone knowing I was on a dating app.
I’m not sure why you would care. Any woman that would see your profile is on there herself looking to meet a guy. I think you really need to get out of your own head. Stop worrying what other people think, because most of the time they don’t think about you as much as you think about yourself.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Because it's me. I'm not someone who's ever had that kind of luck, I feel like people can tell just by seeing me that I'm unlucky in that department. It's a level of irony to see someone trying online dating when it's obvious they never get any girls, and that's not what I want to be.
The reply before me is also correct, online dating isn't designed for people to accurately assess each other. It's based off of pictures and a short bio, neither of which are the most accurate representation of someone. It's shallow is what it is. It's great if you're a very good looking guy but otherwise just exists to make the app/site creators money
[–]Organic_Armadillo_10 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It took me till 27 to even get a first kiss (although basically had my first everything within 24hrs). And even waiting that long sucked (and unfortunately there hasn't been a whole load since).
I find the dating apps the easiest. I may not get tons of matches, but have at least had a few dates and slight success from those.
Other than that, travelling is the next best option. Everyone is in the same/similar situation, in a new place and not knowing anyone. So going off exploring or for a meal/drink isn't so scary. Maybe travel isn't an option yet, but it's definitely the best way I've found.
34 now and still trying to figure things out (as I'm on the shy/introverted side) so going out partying etc isn't something I do. It's definitely hard and lonely.
[–]ice_man085 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It is hard and simple at the same. You need to go out and be there were the girls are. Then you need to interact/talk with them and hope that some of them are going to like you. It is a long and not easy way but in general it can work.
I never got female attention in my hole life and still managed to get a gf here and there.
I personally think that female attention is overrated and often just misselading. The so called chosing signals did not work out for me at all.
Everytime I asked a girl out because according to this signals she must be into me, I got rejected the hard way. After such stuff happened a few times I started to not give a cr**p about these signals any more.
I had my greatest success with women that were not into me and did not send any signals.
But that is just my personal experience. Maybe women were are you from have more clue what they are doing with their signal language. Here in my European Home country the women are "broken" in that regard. It seems that hey have no clue what are they doing .
[–]CornHuskular 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Women won’t hit on a man unless they feel comfortable doing so. If your brother is known to have women approach him, it’s because they feel comfortable. Talk to women, make them feel that way around you. Pay them (genuine) compliments, listen to what they’re saying. If they seem engaged in what you’re saying, laughing at your jokes, ask for her number. If she says no, take it like a man and respect her choice

"Im already way old to not have this kind of experience"
Dude your 20 relax
Everyone my age has already got years of experience on top of me, it's not gonna get any better the older I get
Most of his peers have fucked by then. By definition he is behind.

Go find some activities that you love that are group activities. (Stay out of bars.) Then do them and you will find friends and women to date. Take it slow. Build your confidence in the social activities that you love. Don’t be someone you are not.
I don't really have much interest in anything that'sa group activity tbh

I think a big thing is working on yourself to be attractive as possible, physically, mentally, financially, and emotionally is the cornerstone. When you do that your confidence naturally builds. Also practice talking to random people not just attractive women. Detach yourself from the outcome. Be the best version of you and meet people.

Bro, just get into social situations, learn people's lives, find the good ones and tease them

Here’s some stuff I’ve learned from cold approach
I recommend practicing these one at a time until you get them down
-solid eye contact with sexual intent, as a general rule of thumb look away right after she does as to not come off too strong
-be flirty
-dominant but willing to walk away as well,
-Able to lead to a place where sex can reasonably happen
-Speak from the diaphragm and lower the ending pitch of your sentence, nice wide loose and relaxed body language overall
-some other behaviors like pre-selection are huge but not usually practical to try and convey in the moment but keep them in mind
That is 80% of game right there
Try to attract her in about 5-15 mins in cold approach, and do the comfort stuff where are you from and what do you do for about an hour after, then try to pull her ie. Find an excuse to take her home
Text game is for setting up dates not attraction
Online game and social circle game is good, but it is passive, cold approach is the best for getting a girl ASAP
I feel like advice like "be flirty" and "try to attract her" is hollow. How do I do either of those

You have to dress well, shave and smell good and also wear matching color clothes that are form fitting. Then approach and tell them waht you want politly
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
I mean I'm already doing that minus approaching so...
[–]Keezymac34 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
Approcahing is like the bread and butter of dating. Everything means nothing without it. U know how many girls i had to approach to get dates, not many but i still had to do it.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
I never have girls interested in me though. Like I'm not gonna ask a girl out unless I know that kind of stuff lmao
[–]Keezymac34 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
U have to take a chance bro. Stop valuing random people’s opinions of you. I approach over 200 an got rejected on the spot by 150, about 35 ghost and 5 flakes
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
That sounds exhausting, were those just 200 random approaches or did you know any of them beforehand?
[–]Keezymac34 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
It wasnt in one day it was over the course of half a year. No i didnt know them. People generally act the same if your polite and smile. Grow thick skin women generally are empathetic and understand how hard it is to approach so they wont be mean as long as you can pick up on body language and can tell shes done speaking. If you cant tell leave abruptly then. Any thing but an excited yes is a no.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Ok but I'm not gonna ask girls out unless I know she's someone I'd want to date. And if I never met the girl then an approach is just based off of nothing, so why would I do that?
[–]Keezymac34 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Its a numbers game. You need to meet alot of women to know which ones are the quality ones. When you meet a quality chick who improves your life you wont go back.
And how do I meet a lot of women without just approaching random ones every day?
[–]warbloggled 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
pm me, I’ll teach you like it’s math.
I hate it when people do this. If it was really that helpful, why not put it into a comment or in its own post?
[–]warbloggled 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
After replying to some pm’s, it’s become obvious that most guys who have issues with approaching women also seem to have a serious lack of initiative and discipline.
I’ve broken down concepts to finer details and apparently it’s still not comprehensive enough.
Further breakdown is requested and sure, I may not be the most eloquent person around however, communication is a 50/50 thing. We must meet each other half way.
I’ve highlighted keywords that may easily be researched but these guys seem to expect me to write them a scholarly journal breakdown of The Who what where why how when, where I can’t help but suspect that even then they won’t understand, it’s like I’m supposed to chew and swallow their food for them? If you can’t respect your own time, to self educate a little on what I share, how am I supposed to spend my time on you?
Knowledge is not power. Application of knowledge is power. Knowledge by itself is useless.
Have some self efficacy. Girls are as much human as guys and want sex/relationship just as much. Having stature, manners, and interesting things to talk about is almost the whole equation.
