I don't think it's that men are better at it, but that women are more susceptible to it. Many women are raised to give people the benefit of the doubt and always take care of others' needs before their own.

Plus there's a lot of societal messaging that normalizes negative behaviors with things like "boys will be boys" or "girls are just more mature."

Most men don't have anything that women want enough to trick them for it. There's a motive and opportunity difference, not ability.

And many of the men that do have something women want, they're also in a strong enough position that the women have to be careful of the consequences of screwing them over.

Few men are in a sweet spot of having something valuable, without a lot of recourse if they're taken advantage of.

The solution to living with a slob that shirks their chores is to find someone that isn't. It's not complicated. If your man can't cook and doesn't wash dishes and he's your man, you fucked up.

I don’t think it’s nearly as black and white as you’re making it out to be — both men and women can and do manipulate. However, you still make some good points on the ways in which men frequently manipulate women. I do think it’s important to question the “scheming woman/bumbling man” narrative, because it’s just not true and is too often used as an excuse for men’s poor behavior.

Another point I would add though is that in a lot of ways, society has already conditioned women to behave in certain ways and put the needs of others in the family first. So sometimes direct manipulation is not needed. For example, many women will sort of default to “doing everything for a man” because that’s what their moms did. Overall, men aren’t always these manipulative masterminds, they’re just more selfish.

Women seem to think so highly of themselves in the context of dating that nothing offered to them could possibly be too good to be true. They deserve the world so they don't question when it's offered to them and they even go so far as to get angry at people who point out when something is too good to be true.

Basically, women are for the most part tricking themselves and then blaming the men who played along to dodge accountability...actually it's even worse, a lot of women will somehow blame the guys who tried to point it out from the sidelines.

So no, I think men are much worse at manipulation than women, women are just so good at it they also manipulate themselves accidentally.

It’s way rarer than women think that men literally go “I’ve already decided I only want sex with this person but I’m just going to pretend to want a relationship.” This is just what femcels tell themselves to sleep at night.

It’s a loser take because any dude who has hooked up/had casual sex knows pretending to want a relationship is a bad strategy to get easy sex. It literally would only work with someone who already likes you and that would have already taken work and rapport that can’t be done via manipulation.

9 times out of 10 when women say this, they just mean that they felt entitled to commitment from a guy who fucked them then changed his mind. And yes I’m sure before he changed his mind that he seemed super into probably because he genuinely felt that way. Society just thinks women who get fucked are owed something else or else that means they are being taken advantage. Hopefully we can culturally get to the point that it isn’t that the man is manipulative but that the woman is entitled

I’m not going to blame the average man for being more manipulative like this, as I believe this is how most society’s have been set up for a long time and most people didn’t even realise it.

Most if society’s backbone is dependent on women’s free labour, and it was done this way for centuries through oppression and even violence. Fortunately things are different now but we’re only starting to understand how much we depended on these background roles, mainly care, and childcare. They are costing fortunes now because nobody wants to do these jobs.

Jumping to conclusions before at least hearing his side of the story would be extremely irresponsible.

Men will make out like all the assets are there's yet have their wife doing unpaid labor for them for 10+ years.

If she wasn't paying for any of her own living expenses those past 10+ years then while her labor was technically "unpaid", it was absolutely compensated. In fact, she was probably compensated quite a bit better than a person who just gets paid an hourly rate to do the same tasks.

I like to think men are better than women at socializing on average.

It is not just manipulation but everything social in general. Manipulation for sexual returns is just where men tend to put the most effort. The fact is, men just are not that interested in socializing for its own sake. That is why everything is an excuse to not socialize. But they know how to do it. They just don't usually bother.

Women often confuse people agreeing with whatever you think or say thanks directly or indirectly to sexual power with actually being good at socializing. Because as awkward, socially anxious and reclusive that quiet shy guy may be, when he talks (or more precisely when he WANTS to talk), people seem interested for the words he speaks. Many times more than a woman may get.

That also explains why the uglier the woman gets with time the worse off she gets in socializing. While the same does not happen to men, if anything as older you get the better men seem to be in socializing (even if getting more and more uninterested in socializing too).

Men more commonly get diagnosed with conditions like narcissism and there is some evidence that men are raised and conditioned to be more selfish and unempathetic to others. Manipulation isn’t about smarts like some people may think. Studies find even our pets are capable of manipulating us to get treats or preferred outcomes based on positive or negative behaviors. Being a manipulator doesn’t make you some kind of genius. The main ingredient is a lack of conscience. It’s easy to lie to people when you just don’t fucking care. All this post is admitting is that you think abusive sociopaths are superior to people with morals and take pride in being the gender that is statistically more likely to be that. And yet in other posts we see rants about how women “choose” to be abused and how all abusers are obviously evil from the start. Nope they’re like op, just careless enough to be willing to lie to get their way.

The kind of guy that you are willing to do all kinds of shit for is usually above your league (not necessarily Chad). If you are going to say "he was totes a nerdy loser", that's a coping "sour-grapes" mechanism, "I can't get his commitment, so I am going to call him a loser".

Funny you say that. You cannot just change a "law", the family court system by itself was a mistake and should be abolished. Most women will be against, and since they can vote on this issue, they will block any amendments that can potentially take any advantages from them.

Men and women should be treated as adults who got into the relationship out of their own volition. If you reserve the right to leave the relationship whevever it suits you, so can men. If you spent most of the time not working and taking care of him, it's completely on you. That's a personal choice that you made. Just like the men who make a personal choice to be the provider for ungrateful wives who eventually leave them. I blame these men more because they are making a choice to do that despite knowing that the odds aren't in their favor.
