Today's men grew up with 50 percent divorce rates and grew up with lots of horror stories about their mothers and aunts. So because of this they are wary of women and don't like them or trust them. No matter how trustworthy or good hearted a woman gets she will still be seen as untrustworthy and bad. This means for women it is hopeless because men will see her as evil no matter what so there is no point in trying. Not hopeless for everyone but hopeless for most women. They will try to be good and all men will see is their evil wicked mother.
