I left an abusive trauma bonding relationship & got myself the cutest dog ever and leveled up financially, professionally, socially & spiritually.

I saved 10K this year and now have enough to soon buy my own place (added to what I saved in the 10yrs before that), I went from being unemployed to being a consultant with multiple side projects, I started eating clean, beat my substance addictions, ditched all my low vibrational friends and expanded my social circle with people who are more aligned with me in terms of ambition & spirituality. I healed my mind and my body and I am never going back to my pickmeisha days EVER.

I just had my first large art show this evening and I’m finishing up a several thousand dollar mural tomorrow and my client wants to sign me up for TWO MORE contracts. My art career is skyrocketing and I’m about to graduate very soon. I would’ve never thought this would happen so soon. I want to cry I’m so happy... just bought a Gucci bag for myself and then I’ll be saving mad and getting into FIRE. Please pray for my continual success!

My resilience about my education. I clicked early on in life that education is the most valuable resource to a girl who grew up in poverty. All that mattered to me was that I became as highly educated and financially independent as possible.

I’m still working on the latter, but I have a Bachelor’s, 2 Master’s and a PhD. I self funded my Master’s by working my ass off before securing myself a scholarship for my doctorate. Times are hard, but I often remind myself of how awed that little girl would be if she met her future self.

I'm proud of myself for doing some intensive therapy (via Skype) over this Covid period.

It's been painful revisiting wounds I thought I had cleared long ago. I found they are still impacting my thought patterns, feelings and behaviours.

As I unwrap the layers I get closer to the essence of me. I realised I'm brave and have a good soul that is kind, gentle and loving. I'm connected to sprit, Allah, in my own individual way and I can prayer for her guidance and receive this support minus all the bullshit in Islam.

Walking on the path less travelled has not been easy and it's often been lonely. It gives me such pleasure to know I remained authentic despite the adversity, pressure and fear.

Now with the support of this FDS community, I am no longer alone.

I can sense I'm moving into a space of presence, acceptance and gratitude.

I'm wild with happiness and peace, typing this with a big grin across my face ;)

My strength. It's been a rubbish year which I'm sure we can all relate to. I've lost two people I love dearly and a friend to cancer. I've been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, I was ill with Covid-19 for two months in May. I've had to cope with two abusive scrotes. Here I am, obediently taking my meds, feeling positive and standing tall. Planning for a better new year in 2021.

I live in a beautiful apartment in one of the most exciting cities in the world.

My business is taking off like crazy. I created it from basically the ground up, and now I spend my days working on my passion.

I’m about to start planning my wedding. Having a wedding isn’t really something to be proud of, of course. But I think my fiancé and I are going to make it really beautiful, so I anticipate we are both going to be proud of it once the day comes.

I’m also proud of all of you guys. So many accomplishments and achievements! It’s very inspiring. 👑

I've had my own space for a lil over two years now and it is finally starting to show more of me. It took kicking out a 🧽 to start it up.

I have 3 indoor cats I can give a good life to.

This was the year I was able to move from 2 jobs to one job and I didn't think I could do that for another 3 years minimum. It happened at the end of Feb.

As of yesterday, I completed therapy for a while. Now to keep up with my coping exercises and mental mantras. 🥰

Mom gave me a sewing machine, so I plan to start researching it/watching vids to help me use it the right way so I can start making clothes and stuff.

I am getting an entirely different home desk/office comp/laptop set up that is almost completely paid off.

I’m 8 months sober from alcohol completely on my own after it almost destroyed me last year & put me in the hospital twice. I left a narcissistic ex in the process which is like conquering another addiction on top of my alcoholism.

But most importantly I think, I started playing music again. Guitar, piano, drums, singing, it was my life before shitty relationships & substance abuse took over. I am reclaiming my identity as a musician and often cry uncontrollably when I practice & notice that I have improved.

What am I proud of today? My depression has been kicking my @ss. One of my cabinets wouldnt close and maple syrup fell out and went floor to ceiling in my kitchen. I deep cleaned my kitchen and my bathroom!

In general, Im proud of building an environment of comfort and stability with the ability to work on art and cooking yummy food.

I've done nearly a 360 on myself. Lost nearly 40 lbs and so very close to my pre pregnancy weight!

Quit smoking, and I have 0 cravings since I kicked the last LVM out of my house.

I have consistently worked out 3-4 x a week for the longest timeframe in my life.

I have quit FB and most other social media and the effect to my mental health is huge! Come to terms with not dating and being very happy with it. Though a drama free life is very boring and has been an adjustment, I am really proud of myself for breaking the cycle.

I'm hitting goal after goal way before I expected to and have no plans to stop. I even spent a little money on myself, which I find hard to do, and got some cute clothes that are not baggy and some high quality nail care stuff. I've never been into makeup or nails but I've been playing with my nails and I'm starting to really like it.

2020 has, honestly, been a fantastic year for me.

I'm in amazing shape thanks to 6 months of tough workouts and pushing myself outside my comfort zone. Used to run a few times a week but was weak and had little muscle tone, now I can do push-ups and planks without breaking a sweat.

I made it to the final round of interviews for my dream job at a very competitive company, I might not get it but I consider that to be a huge achievement in itself.

I am completely unbothered by any man right now, don't have anyone I'm currently flirting with and it feels awesome.

I walked out and quit immediately a job that was asking me to do sketchy and borderline illegal things. When HR called me a few mins after receiving my email, I didn’t respond. I listened to the message, telling me how they just want to work things out and figure out how to solve the problem. I never called them back and started a new job only a week after quitting!

I guess for now it is my stories - I created a world that spanning shit ton of volumes. Complete with the world's own lullabies and songs and poems and puzzles and myths and yeah, I am having fun.

Currently working a minimum wage job after getting my master because I have no transport, no license, and no money to just "get a better job", so my stories is my happy place right now.

It is going out into the world hopefully in a couple more years, so pray for me sisters!

Graduated from college with a degree in business. I successfully held down a full time job straight out of college with benefits and allows me the time to pursue my dreams. I’m also able to comfortably afford my 1 bedroom apartment near the heart of my city. I’d also like to brag on my strength. I’m 9 months post getting out of a narcissistic abuse type of relationship and I was able to be over him just 3 months after. And shortly after the break up I got a raise and I moved into a bigger apartment than my last. My side gig also started to gain more traction. I feel more clear about my vision for life and I’m heading in a great direction.

I bought a house and dumped my LVM ex. I'm standing up for myself more and setting boundaries. I'm studying to become a sterile processing tech. It hasn't been a good year, but a lot of things happened that allowed me to seriously reflect on where my life was headed and decide to make serious changes that will hopefully make 2021 a million times better than 2020.

This isn't something I've 'achieved' per se, but I am proud of it and I don't really talk about it because I believe you should be a good person for the principle of it and not because you're trying to earn social brownie points by bragging about it. I haven't told anybody who knows me in real life about this but I'll share it here:

I set up a monthly donation to a women's domestic abuse shelter charity. This charity is helping women during the pandemic. I also make a monthly donation to Doctor's Without Borders, which I've been doing for about 6 years now.

Additionally, this week I donated to a new charity that focuses on global feminism and helps to combat terrible, terrible oppression taking place in the non-Western world. I don't think many of us are truly aware of the horrible stuff that goes on beyond our own privileged communities in Western countries.

I'm searching for an environmental NGO to donate to, too. I've got a lot of climate grief, please let me know if there is an organisation doing good work that you would recommend.
