Then, because you’re dating them, pickmes think they have value so they’re in their DMs. Then you lower yourself to competing with this pickme, which temporarily makes you a pickme. Then he cheats. Turns it around on you. Now your friends group hates you and they know intimate details about your life. He leaves you for the pickme. Realizes he is actually attracted to strong/high maintenance/career minded women. (Because most men are, sorry). Then a month later he is begging you back. Starts contacting your friends and family asking them to persuade you after dogging you to them a month ago. Rinse, wash, repeat.

And that is 9/10 serious relationships.

This is so true. Society does so much work on women to make us feel we don't deserve any respect, any consideration, anyone to listen to us or anyone to even like us from our earliest youth. It takes a massive amount of long-term collective abuse to gut women to this degree so that they can be usable objects for any LVM that comes along.

Having emotions, even strong and fastly changing ones, isn't bad as long as it doesn't cause actions that hurt others. (Verbal abuse, violence etc.) People, regardless of their gender, should be taught and encouraged to express and communicate their feelings in nonviolent ways from a young age. 🥰 It's an important emotional skill. ☺

Having emotions and showing them in a non-hurtful way is normal and acceptable! 😊 And people shouldn't be encouraged to suppress their emotions because they might come off as "crazy" or "irrational". 😐 I hate when some men use the word "crazy" instead of "mad" or "sad".

This. My sister told me that she gets upset at her ex but she’s afraid to find someone new because she gets cranky, annoyed and tired.

I told her maybe when she met a new guy that respected her, he wouldn’t dump all the housework on her, he wouldn’t scream that he doesn’t want to watch her kid and he would want to help you instead of giving you goals that you literally cannot reach and then punishing you for it. Literally what her boyfriend is doing now.

My ex-husband would do this to me. I felt like I wasn’t allowed to speak in my own house amongst other things. I would text his questions even if we were in the same room all so I wouldn’t be bothering him. He would tell me things like my voice was annoying, my laugh was ugly, and that I should practice having alone time when he got home from work.

We met when I was just 17 so he was the only man I had ever known. After our divorce I was almost dumb founded when I met someone that didn’t act like he was doing me a favor by having an actual conversation with me.

A million times this. I am very pretty, I am intelligent and creative and witty and a great conversationalist. All in all I am a fucking joy to be around. Yet, up until my early 30's I somehow held onto this fallacy that I am fundamentally abhorrent and difficult to be with.
