These laws are blindly biased towards woman. In India, woman will get half of your income, even if she has one. Property division is separate. You are less likely to get custody of child, and if you do not pay, you will be ordered to do one time settlement which is nearly impossible, and if you fail to do so, it is jail time.

Many years ago, I won custody of my kid and later the child support case against my ex-wife, She suppose to pay Child Support. But the court system only "made" pay $25 a month, because "suddenly she lost her job". Only got 1 check, when I visited the child support enforcement about she not paying. Take a guess what the lady over the desk said "Sorry sir, She is her mother so is nothing we can do". So she only Pay once and even she had to pay by court order, the child enforcement system still protect her.

I had an opponent to Child Support and Alimony say their whole counter argument is “So who pays child support and alimony when a spouse dies?”

A random stranger overheard the conversation, butted in and the Child Support opponent had to clarify it with “If you don’t get child support and alimony for a dead spouse why do you get it for a divorce?”

I see the Child Support opponent’s view on this issue but I legit felt bad for them because the person who wedged themselves into our conversation just kept insisting that a divorce and death are different and that we have life insurance to replace alimony and child support.

Since I had no dog in the fight I just left but I think it’s a valid discussion to have regarding how we differentiate a divorce versus a death in terms of financial support to help someone maintain a lifestyle to which they have become accustomed.

I worked w a guy who made a good living, who paid for his wife to get her realtor license and after his wife cheated on him w a man who owned a successful construction business, they divorced. She was already making more money then him at the time, he still lost the house, which she sold to a friend for a 4 figure profit that they split, he still had to to make payment on the jaguar because of the kids (teens), child support, and alimony no less... he lost everything, minus one lake house (nothing fancy) because it was both in his and his brother's name. A few thousand got removed from the debt recently because the bailiffs can't seize assets to cover child support debt. Apparently it "takes too much time" to sell them. It's ridiculous, honestly.

Edit: Cunt runs his own business and just bought a brand new tractor. He's perfectly capable of paying the quite reasonable rate. They know his address and everything, but he doesn't have a UK bank account which is why no debt has been recovered.

I personally dont believe in custody or child support. as a mother of 2 boys, I believe each parent is equally responsible for them financially and emotionally. my children choose where they want to be and for how long. for example, they will go to dads for idk 4 or 5 days then come to moms for a week, dad takes them camping for a weekend, they come back to moma etc. we live only 10 miles apart and although our relationship didnt work, theres ZERO reason why we cant raise our kids together. yall trust me it IS EASY to parent together... you HAVE to set your personal hurt and emotions to the back in order to do this and you CAN do it for your children. if you cant then you're a selfish person IMO. Think about that. Theoretically I should be paying less because I would have one less mouth to feed and support. Child support calculations include the idea that a child needs shelter, heat, and water. Things the custodial parent would already be paying without kids in the first place.

The reason the judge ruled the way they did is because Halle tried to alienate her daughter’s father and move her to France so they could live as one happy new family with her then fiancé. I haven’t read other comments, but I believe the reason these extreme payments exist is BECAUSE the courts do not want children to live a billionaire lifestyle while they are residing with one parent and a “working-class” lifestyle while residing with the other parent.

The courts believe the welfare of the children involved is better served when the wealthy parent pays a significant amount of money such that the kids are able to live in similar comfort while spending time with the much poorer (or less wealthy) parent.

If Halle did not agree with this long-standing, well-established alimony framework, she could have chosen to sleep exclusively with very wealthy men. Or she could have used birth control.

I am not privy to all of the financial details in this specific case, but the law is designed so kids are not able to vacation in London, staying in luxury penthouses with one parent while the other parent is only able to treat the kids to a local vacation and stay in a Motel 6.

I support the law.

Halle needs to make better, far-sighted decisions in order to avoid situations that will be unpleasant to her.

My dad has $32,000 in back child support. I’m now 28 going on 29 we don’t fight to get it but neither me nor my mom are willing to take away that debt from him. He never tried to help at all and my mother very much struggled when I was growing up. so now every once in a while we’ll get some random little bit of money it’s pretty amusing and cool to randomly get maybe a couple $100 bucks every other year lol.

That being said there are definitely abusers in the current system. Who use their children as pay checks.

Here we go again.........

Just because a person on the elite is faced with paying child support (a turn for the worst because it's a female paying a male), all of a sudden extremely high child support payments is viewed as ridiculous. How dare anyone make the claim that the custodial parent does not have the right to make claims according to the lifestyle they were accustomed to.
