We were together for 16 years. Three kids. We were separated for two years and just past one year of being divorced. We were disconnected in the last years of our marriage and found out she took the easy way out and cheated. I gave this woman my all. All of my trust, all of my innermost personal being. It's been three years, and it still hurts. Even though I know she has moved on and did what she did, I miss our family. I miss those moments. Just the tiny moments of watching a movie together as a family. The trips to the store. The day-to-day conversations. She was the confidant that I could tell all my problems to. I'm not sure if I miss her or the thought of her. I should be past this point, but I'm not. I'm stuck. I've done all the things as one should. The work on “myself”. But this feeling never tends to fade. She was a part of my mind, body, and soul. She never really said sorry for what happened. She never really felt it. I never thought I would be approaching my 45th birthday as a single dad. I never wanted this. I said those vows and meant every word of it. She was the person I was to grow old with. Long story short, how do I move on? Will I ever be able to? I can't even look her in the eye during kid exchanges. I can't be in her presence for more than 15 minutes because of that place in my heart. I just wanted to vent and wonder if anyone else has those moments or feelings. Thanks for listening to my story.
