I was on one of the pregnancy subs and a woman posted asking about how to tell her husband she did not want him in the delivery room as a first time mom. She stated how she felt uncomfortable with him there as she was understandably very nervous about the birth. She also said she was fine with having his mom be there instead of him. Cue a nonsensical shitstorm of pickmes and scrotes losing their minds. So many of the responses started attacking her for daring to have some agency as a pregnant woman. So many pickmes said it was “unfair” and “selfish” of her to “deny her husband the right to watch the birth” just because he does not have the capacity to bring life on earth. One scrote said that he would be “pissed 😡😡” if his wife didn’t let him be there and it would’ve been “a fuck you to have his mom there but not him,” regardless of the fact that this is a life-changing and nerve-wracking experience for women. Listen up scrotes, I don’t care if you think it’s “unfair.” Only women have the ability to bring life into this world and we have every right to surround ourselves with other women who have gone through this experience. I will also not let my husband cut the umbilical cord (I always found this modern tradition cringy and infuriating) women do the work in creating life and we should not let males cut the umbilical cord as if it’s some sort of ribbon at a finish line. If you think it will help him bond with the baby, it won’t. It’s pointless. What will help him bond is actually doing the childcare and housework. Also, when I deliver my babies, my husband WILL have to wait outside because I do NOT need him ruining feminine energy with his male presence and that is the women’s right. So pickmes and scrotes can die mad 😘😁
