I was talking to the guy from OLD (yeah, I know..) for about three weeks. He has been really nice, asked all questions, and was actively planning to meet up with me upcoming weekend. I asked him for a voice call due to going outside of town and he was happy to oblige, we had a blast and he sounded sweet and attentive on the short phone call we had. I was pretty busy the following week, but he chased me, sent me sweet messages, good morning, and good nights and was initiating lots and lots of texts and I would reply when I got off work. He even sent me a small gift when I wasn't feeling well in my hotel room and generally kept me company in the very little free time I had. I was careful as I knew I didn't want to rush things so I kept every interaction short and sweet. He initiated our second voice call and found out the hotel I'm staying at and sent flowers to the reception desk.

He constantly said he's intrigued by me and my unavailability, like a puzzle he can't crack in one sitting. I felt like he's showing genuine HVM signs and asked him a few times if he's feeling comfortable with moving this fast. He said yes, and was actively planning elaborate dates for us by the time I get back. I felt like it was moving too fast and took some time off by going on a small vacation before coming back from work and let him know that and he, of course, didn't bother me during that time and was waiting patiently for my return.

The day I have arrived from the airport he send me a few messages saying he has a few ideas for our dates and would love to know when I'm available this coming weekend. I didn't respond until the next day, saying I would like to facetime before I actually see him. He agreed and, after wishing me good morning, said he can do it any time I'm available. It's been a long day for me, but we finally Facetimed. I told him I was tired and didn't really look my best, he told me he loves my looks no matter what. During Facetime, he asked a lot of questions and seemed generally tense, no flirting or joking, he pointed out that I have bags under my eyes and seem fidgety. I laughed it off and asked him his experience with OLD, he said that he was fairly picky with women and only talks to one at the time, but he lost interest in seeing women before dues to his pickiness (like, one woman was 10 mins late, another had "an ugly British accent" and was too hard to understand, and another one had yellow teeth). I laughed it off (he didn't laugh) and ended the call in 10 minutes because my phone was about to die and I was too exhausted. I told myself it does not matter since we are meeting up this coming weekend anyway.

After that call, things have changed drastically. The next morning I got no text, and throughout the day I initiated a few texts (I know...) just to see how he would respond. Before that, he used to take breaks and send me texts and pictures during work, but this time he didn't respond until he got off work (after 4pm). He told me he was extremely busy that day and his friend is planning a party he's going to attend this Saturday.I got hit with a wave of anxiety that I couldn't explain.

Then, of course, he didn't reach out to me the whole Saturday, not even one text. I went out with my friends to try to take my mind off of this situation. and took my anxiety meds. He didn't text the whole Sunday until I sent him a picture of something. He responded that it's really nice and apologized for his absence, saying that he left the party early because he didn't feel good, I left him on read. Then, he tried to call me (not warning me that he will) later but I was driving my friend to the airport and couldn't answer the call. He didn't follow up with a text and I haven't heard from him all night.

Next day - nothing. After I got off work I texted him saying that I know things have changed for him and shouldn't feel bad for not wanting to see me or changing his mind. He didn't respond to my text for 5 hours. Later that evening I received a wall of text from him, saying how he's hungover, the party was terrible and he's still not feeling 100% and I shouldn't just assume things. I said ok and just left it alone.

With all my willpower, I have convinced myself not to look at his number and not to reach out to him at all. I told myself that if he wanted to - he would come out and ask me out this weekend. If he wanted to he would. I got busy with work and went on other dates with guys from OLD. Yesterday, I checked the date - it's been 3 days since we've talked, it's Friday today, and he never reached out.

I blocked and deleted. Lesson learned. I have deleted my OLD profile.

I will not ever, ever sit and wait for a guy, and I refuse to be downgraded.
