Women will give genuine compliments and compliments that aren't double edged and they make you feel good. Men only compliment to get into your pants, fake asf or to get some compliments in return. As y'all say, nobody's nicer than the guy who hasn't had sex with you yet.

The best thing is when women compliment you on a nice personality trait you have or something cute and insightful.

At one point I made a list of compliments my friends or family had given me so that when I felt down I could look at them. No male compliments featured on there ofc.

And here’s the thing. Having had years of gross and/or misguided attempts at “compliments” (read: negging) from LVM men, I tune them out and only listen to the ones given by my girlfriends. The feeling is entirely different when it’s a compliment from someone who’s not just trying to fuck you.

This is another example of men shooting themselves in the foot. You can't complement men without them thinking you want to have sex. Why take the chance? If women who is not attractive says something nice they don't care.

The thing about men is they don't put even 1/4 of the grooming women do. Women who get complements put in effort for her appearance. I have never seen women who was dressed as casual with no makeup getting tons of people telling her how nice she looks.

Men need to stop listening to MNGTOW (men never going their own way), RP (red pill), PUA (pick up artists.. only thing they are "artists" of is scamming men out of money for terrible advice) ect. I read something a few years ago, which I couldn't apply to men. "Say every nice thought out loud" You like someones fluffy coat, cute dog, bright umbrella, shiny earrings, pretty handbag, the song they were humming, the way they helped someone with the door.. it made me feel happy sharing those compliments but always got a up-and-down look from men..so I only share those nice things with my family and few male friends.

They totally saw that compliment on their cool leather jacket as an opening.. so gross.

Women compliment me on shit that I actually put effort into achieving or is reflective of me as a person. I put on this make up, I did my hair, I chose these shoes, I said the smart or funny thing. Men compliment my fuckability, tits or ass, none of which I had much control over.
Men have ulterior motives. Random girls who compliment me are doing it for the sake of nothing, just women building up women. Men always have a fucking ulterior motive because THE ONLY TIME THEY TALK TO WOMEN IS TO FUCK THEM. Oh and then they whine about how women always think they have an ulterior motive when they're just trying to say hi and women think they're just hitting on them. There was an askreddit or askmen thread in the past few weeks that talked about this very topic. Most men agreed that men need to compliment each other which was great, but there were some in the thread saying the whole point is that they want compliments from women.

If I compliment another woman it's almost always on her style or her overall look because I genuinely like it and maybe she'll tell me where she got something or for a less common reason that she did/said something strikingly awesome. Women's taste and style is relevant to me as a woman so I will strike up conversation about it or give a compliment.

Outside of the rare occurrence of saying/doing something strikingly awesome, there is generally nothing to like on random men that is going to warrant a compliment from most women. They put in significantly less effort to look groomed on a basic level and most just wear the same types of clothes as though they have some kind of uniform so it's boring. Like, I don't care where he got his nondescript brown office-job shoes. Why would I compliment those? There is nothing interesting or striking there. Sorry, dudes, your bland fashion doesn't interest me so I'm not going to go out of my way to give a fake compliment to a rando just to falsely inflate his ego because some men feel ignored. And I'm definitely not doing it when my life experience says he's going to pester me and try to follow me home afterwards.
