My ex was like this. I constantly felt like I was being lectured, and worse was when I finally had a chance to actually share my own thoughts he would completely miscomprehend (or maybe intentionally misinterpret) whatever I said into something that he could "correct" me on. Glad I'm out of that one.

Had a biology class where the male professor would let the men just go on and on (sprinkled with some misogyny, classism, or homophobia - depending on the day) but whenever I would speak I’d get challenged or shut up quickly. Even one older man was surprised that my little woman brain knew about a book that he knew about it! This class was three hours long on a Friday morning. Sigh.

a guy I went on a date with once for the first time talked about how many threesomes he had over in the states cause of his English accent. ( I’m English as well). I visibly was cringing and rolling his eyes and he looked at me and still carried on. The man was quite ugly and lied about his height so was shorter than me. i went on a date with a guy a few weeks ago i met on OLD. he wouldn’t stop talking about himself. the entire time, i was just sitting listening, nodding occasionally. he’d ask a question, id answer, then, without acknowledging my answer, he’d answer it himself for another 10 mins. he even ended up talking about candles??? he didn’t pay and i blocked him. men just boggle my mind.
