Their balls are dropped ovaries, part of why hurting them is so bad is because they still have nerves connected in their abdomen. It's literally 15 minutes of sudden onset period pain.

Literally never been on birth control in my life. Why put myself through that just for a man's pleasure? No thanks. All my exes wore condoms and the only ones that complained about it were the nvm's. The decent ones and even one of the Lvm's were completely against me putting my body through the grueling effects of birth control and supported my decision not to.

Omg I’ve had women themselves tell me I’m a wimp for not wanting to get an IUD 😑like sorry I don’t want something shoved up all the way into my uterus and leaving it in there for months to years with no sedative or anesthetic.. IUDs can leave things too like scar tissue/infections/being ejected spontaneously etc
We need to start making and normalizing male birth control. The only reason I still take the pill is my period is insanely long/heavy/painful without it
Edit: I’ve been shamed for not wanting to use tampons either. Women have implied I am gross/unhygienic for allowing my period blood to go onto a menstrual pad. I just don’t like things being stuck in me for unnecessary reasons..

I got a copper IUD a few months ago. I once had a reconstructive jaw surgery where my entire jaw was sawed apart, rearranged, and put back together with titanium holding things in place. The swelling lasted a year from it.
Getting the IUD inserted was at least comparable, and I think actually worse, pain. And now I have endometriosis which was spurred by said IUD, so I have to get it removed and a hormonal one put in. Don't you let anyone, anyone tell you you're a wimp for what you do or don't want allowed in your own body!

Quick question. I have a copper IUD as well. It was fine for the first year and a half. But now I've been spotting or bleeding non-stop for months since November 2020. It's not my period. And I've only had my period twice since then. Did you experience this as well?

I kinda had the opposite - I had a ton of spotting and bleeding for my first couple months on it, which has finally tapered off mostly now. But I definitely think it could be related and I would get it checked out. It could be that its placement moved some and is irritating your uterus more than it was. Or possibly a little bacteria got in there and it's causing some mild vaginitis, which can also cause some bleeding. Or, like me, it's possible you've developed some endometriosis, which is not always painful, but can cause spotting and bleeding.
Generally your body is supposed to get more tolerant, not less, of the IUD over time, but I've definitely heard lots of anecdotes of that not being the case. I would make an appointment and get it looked at asap, personally.

Not to mention my close loved one lost some of her thick hair to one, in her case it was due to excessive bleeding. But still if medical science was not so sexist she'd not go through constant fear and anxiety while combing her hair, this made me swear off BC I'm already given an unfair start in life the least they could do is wrap that damn cancer stick up.

My husband has a vasectomy but I still have an iud, so I don't have to have periods. I'm considering getting rid of it, but I've been period free for 5 years and I just don't want to go back to bleeding.

It doesn't agree with me, so I don't take it. The last two men I dated had a vasectomy. My current partner is not snipped, and I'm not on BC. We don't want kids so are presently using condoms. I explained the pros and cons of BC and procedures for each of us. He would think about it. The next weekend, he said he had decided that the vasectomy was the best choice for both of us. That's bc it is.

Reading all of the side effects of birth control made me realize that my five year stint on the pill left me worse for wear than I initially believed. I already knew that it made me suffer from:
Blood clots, low libido, weight gain, migraines, acne, mood changes, anxiety, and depression.
I had no idea that it may also be to blame for chronic vaginal dryness and dry corneas as well. I haven't touched BC of any kind in 15+ years and I still deal with the dryness and a libido that never recovered to pre-BC levels.
This makes me rage. 😡
I wish that men could carry around a vascectomy card not unlike the COVID vaccination cards. Hell yes, you're going to wear a condom initially, regardless. But to know without question that a man has been snipped and all expectations for ongoing pregnancy prevention are not my concern? Bliss!

Oh god this makes me worry. Ive been on bc since 17 and Im 23 now...low libido, depression, anxiety, chronic dryness. What if it doesn't go away when I stop it?? Are women just supposed to deal with negetive side effects for the rest of our lives!

I'm loathe to worry you, because the side effects you experience and their lingering effects vary wildly from person to person. But I'm in my 40s now (and I've been off BC for at least 15 years) and I still have a low libido, dryness, and struggles with depression and anxiety. I also had a serious scare with a blood clot in one of my legs in my 20s, which is no joke. Atop all of that, taking BC left me with estrogen dominance, which I'm thankfully able to treat with OTC supplements.
Unless you absolutely need to take BC, and you can handle the side effects, I would recommend forging it and using other methods like condoms, spermicides, being mindful of your cycle, etc. I will never, ever touch the stuff ever again, and one of the silver linings of getting older is knowing that my ability to get pregnant diminishes year over year. But I would never wish the side effects of BC on anyone, and there's still time for you to turn it around. Wishing you all the best!

my sister is this very morning having her iud surgically removed since it has travelled too far into her uterus to be removed normally. she had multiple unrelated other medical conditions before this to the point that she is disabled. their last child was 13 years ago and her husband finally decided to have a vasectomy last year. i hate him for it, among other things. i will hate him until i die and she will never understand why i will never think he's good enough for her, all thanks to the terrible father figures we had that stole her self esteem and mine, and made this pos seem like a blessing after so much terrible treatment.

AT 37, I was diagnosed with PCOS. Had never ben on BC before. For approximately one year I experienced the following: heart palpitations, high anxiety (I had struggle with depression from time to time but this was actual panic attacks at work), weight gain, and low libido. Overall, I felt the opposite of having control over my body (the way BC is advertised to young women).
Sure, it might have help a bit with PCOS and yea, it prevents pregnancy but it really just masked the symptoms (had better luck with strength training and managing my diet for PCOS) and what is the point of BC when you aren't ever in the mood for sex?

I've had an IUD for 5 years. Literally on the calendar day of the 5th anniversary of having it, I bled from the bladder and rectum at the same time. It was either before or after my period. (I can't remember) This was almost a year ago. The doctor treated me like I was wasting his time as there was no sign of infection in my red urine. I had blood work done, everything was operating fine. The OB/GYN removed the IUD. Throughout my life, my period has been 8-10 days and very painful and heavy. Ever since the IUD was removed, now it is 3-4 days long and moderate for the first time ever since. I have never been on any hormonal birth control ever in my life. I don't plan on starting.
I plan on staying off of birth control for as long as I can.

I had the arm implant that made me cry every single day. I was so emotionally fragile. It made half of my hair fall out. I’d run my fingers through my hair and each time I’d lose easily 20 strands. I got insane cystic acne that covered every inch of my face. I had thick brown blood discharge every single day for 8 months until I insisted they take it out.

This hit me hard. When I was a teenager I was put on birth control pills because doctors didn’t know how to treat my very heavy, painful period, so decided to just suppress it. I was absolutely miserable, but no one told me about any of the side effects or risks, so I didn’t make the connection between my misery and the pill until years later. When I was in my early twenties, I finally looked into how the pill works and the potential risks. It was like a checklist of my health issues, so I decided to quit.
Within 3/4 months I had dropped 10 pounds, was significantly less anxious, had far fewer migraines, and my sex drive was healthy again for the first time in years. I was angry no one had told me what I was doing to myself. (Seriously, what the hell, gyn? At one point I even asked her if my pills could be causing my issues, she said now that I brought it up, maybe, so maybe I should switch to a different brand of bc pill. ???) Since going off the pill I necessarily became more picky about men I was dating as well. Currently I just use FAM and condoms with my husband. So much better!

Last time I tried birth control (a little over a year ago) I’d been off it for several years. Instantly felt crap. It didn’t improve after about a month, so I stopped. LVX didn’t love that, but I much prefer not feeling utterly crap and having worse mood swings and cramps, cheers. 🙄

I always say that birth control doesn't agree with me. I have had symptoms similar to this.
This list barely touches on the psychological effects that I suffered, when I used to take them.
Birth control is hormones that are put into women's bodies. When I was on them, I felt: emotional swings, rage, bitchiness, depression, and like I wasn't in control of my own body.
I also wanted to point out that historically, the pill was responsible for creating a sexual revolution because scrotes could nut in women without as many reprocussions (AKA responsibities). Before the pill was created, a man had to ask a woman to marry her before he could even have sex with a woman because children born out-of-wedlock (OOW) was heavily frowned upon in society. Now, a man could have sex with that woman and many other women at the same time without worrying about babies being born.

I never took birth control even though all of my doctors tried to force it on me. I could go in and say my leg hurts and they’ll offer birth control as a fucking solution. That’s when I knew something was up! I would take their recommended birth control pill home, think about it, read the label, have a panic attack and trash it. I did this several times before finally telling doctors to shove it and to stop offering it to me.

I'm disgusted. These men act like the male contraceptives being tested and their side effects are some hellish price to pay. They'll whine about condoms killing the feeling, but yet they don't want to abstain/use a condom/use male birth control 🤡
I've used birth control pills for years because my periods and cramps were so painful and unbearable I started missing school. Every month it felt like a combo of a horrible stomach ache, vertigo, pain, bloating, diarrhea, exhaustion, and emotional ups and downs. Complete hell. The pill helped me curb a lot of that, but of course its a pain in the butt, but I'd rather take it then feel like that again.
Periods can be hell same with female birth control. All the mo ey we have to spend on gynos, pads/tampons, new underwear (and new bed sheets or clothes especially if your period is irregular and pops up)... I am so goshdarn tired of it. Next man I sleep with needs to use a condom without whining OR go and get a vasectomy

I have such mixed feelings about BC pills. They helped with my cramps and vomiting as a teen but they also come with other side effects that aren’t talked about. It s 2021, BC should have little to no side effects by this point 😓

BC has always had such a negative effect on me, each type I tried was terrible and no better than the other. Getting an IUD inserted was traumatic and I was given no pain relief, the nurse seemed annoyed when it took me 2 hours to sit up and get off the table afterwards and said it was only “a pinch”. I bled nonstop for days, couldn’t stop vomiting, felt terribly depressed out of nowhere when I was happy before, having multiple panic attacks a day, and a violent stabbing pain around my lower abdominal area. I had to get the IUD removed after a few days because the pain was so intense I couldn’t do anything but scream in agony and curl up in a ball. I recently told a counsellor about this experience with my IUD and she said it sounded like it wasn’t inserted properly, and I’m assuming she’s right. It felt like a knife was stabbing and twisting inside me. Never getting an IUD again, so angry that I let an ex pressure me into getting one and putting me through that hell. Never going on BC pills again either, not a fan of vomiting and crying for hours every day.
