Like the title says.

When I found & joined FDS, I found the rule that no men were allowed to comment here a bit weird. I thought that the input of a guys perspective could be good -maybe even beneficial - and that outright banning them was a way to extreme choice from the mods.

Well...I was wrong.Oh my God...what a sweet summer child I was.

A few months after FDS, I joined a really cool sub called r/TwoXChromosomes.A space of women for women, supposed to be a safe area where girls of all kinds could share their experiences, exchange tips and get support.

A sub, that's also open for male Redditors. Sadly.

In the beginning I didn't really notice it, but then reading more and more posts it slowly started to creep up. Sure, there were guys who were...just okay guys. Fathers that asked for tips to help their female relatives, guys that generally are interested in such topics and so on.But most male comments?

I'm just gonna use a recent post as an example:"Captain Suzy Garrett and her first-officer daughter, Donna, are the first mother-daughter pair in history to pilot a commercial Skywest Airlines flight together. Suzy was one of the first dozen female pilots hired at Skywest and has been flying there for over 30 years."The post has an added picture of the two Queens, sitting in their cockpit smiling at the camera. Now, what were the male comments comprised of?:

50% of the comments are lewd comments of men about how hot the women were & how much they want to do them.

30% are jokes about how women are incapable of flying ("If I had a female captain, I'd leave the plane straight away"), ("they don't possess the right biology to fly")

10% are lost Incels & whatabouts that try to make it about men.-LITERALLY. While scrolling I found a guy with thpse dreaded 5 letters in the name who ranted about how women are dumb and men only build planes so "even females can fly it".

and 10% are normal commenters that either say how it's really cool or otherwise.

And this is the NORM there.Women that post there regularly have to edit their posts so "NotAllMen" stop bothering their inbox. Women try to post about nasty experiences they had with men? Get victim shamed à la "but have you considered HIS perspective though?"

Nowadays, I personally wished that sub would follow FDS ideals and create a ban for male users. Not because "i hAtT mEN" (to ya male lurkers) -but because it's simply harrassement at this point. It's unproductive, destructive and really -really fucking annoying
