So many misinformed women out there who think that marriage is the ultimate achievement.

Sweetie, for you, the game has only just begun.

I’m screaming lol

[–]AwkwardDisaster4150 64 points65 points66 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The thing is, a lot of guys would still marry a woman if they slept together on the first date, if that woman also happens to be compatible with them and what they consider wife material. Most guys are not going to feel that way about you, you just aren’t a good match for everyone you happen to go on a first date with. So if you go on 50 first dates in a year or two until you finally meet the guy you end up marrying, and you sleep with all of them on the first date, you’ve slept with 50 guys. How many STDs have you been exposed to at that point? Not to mention potential for unwanted pregnancy, and just having to endure bad sex with strangers. It’s not worth it. Because I guarantee the same guy who’s going to end up marrying you after you slept together on the first date also would end up marrying you if you waited a couple months of dating before sex.

What ever happened to being classy and not posting stuff like this online. Here’s hoping it’s just a meme someone made

Notice how he stands stiffly with his hands in his goddamn pockets. No movement in his body language apart from sticking his lips out and closing his eyes, while she envelops him in a passionate, warm embrace. Both arms. Body turned towards him. He’s just facing straight forward. You’ve been giving it since day one sis, and he just takes and takes. Case closed.

haven't we learned by now that day one of marriage is not the same as "happily ever after" Like good on you but share this post on your 20th anniversary or something if you really want to drive home your exception to the rule

edit: I have a friend in a fairly healthy relationship- (by comparison to most) they hooked up on like second date- and then had many rocky patches with intimacy over the course of relationship mainly due to going gangbusters in the early stages of things that then slowed down to a halt, and basically had to rebuild the foundations of relationship on something other than sex to stay together

[–]fdssavedmylifeFDS Newbie 59 points60 points61 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I’m still relearning this. I used to think “engaged” and “married” were synonymous with “happily ever after.” Like “oh this woman got a man to marry her so she must know what she’s talking about.” Ugh, who cares? Marriage is only a prize if it’s with a HVM.

[–]ChoiceScarfMienfooFDS Newbie 151 points152 points153 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

tbh i fucked on my first date too (met my current SO in my regrettable libfem phase) and even though it worked out really well for me by pure chance as he turned out to be a HVM, i would NEVER encourage it to any of my sisters. i constantly tell them how i was in a really bad spot, full of insecurities that i put a band-aid over with 🤮casual sex🤮. and even though all my sisters know how happy i am rn, they understand where i am coming from as they know precisely the kind of person i was when in my libfem/casual sex phase.

also both my HVM and i don't really like sharing how we first met because it's a shameful story so we have defaulted to the "we met at an art class!" white lie

[–]VS377FDS Newbie 18 points19 points20 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Replying to say that I’m in almost the exact situation. Yes, it happened on the first date, but I’m extremely lucky because he turned out to be a HVM, and we’ve been together nearly 2 years. I was not aware of FDS at that time, and was in a horrible mental state in which I desperately craved affection or love in any source. Looking back, it was pathetic and honestly dangerous, and not something I would ever do in the future (if this relationship doesn’t end up working out).

I say I’m lucky now, because all the past times I was seriously unlucky. Not to the point of STDs or pregnancy or what have you, but I definitely just felt like complete garbage and regretted doing it.

[–]ChoiceScarfMienfooFDS Newbie 11 points12 points13 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

i'm so happy for you that it worked out!

i think most libfems tend to sweep the correlations with their casual sex phase under the carpet, refusing to acknowledge the hand that mental health issues or poor life circumstances can play in encouraging such behaviour

everytime we admit this to ourselves and others, we can save another woman from falling into the same trap we did

[–]VS377FDS Newbie 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You’re exactly right. I’m in my early(ish) twenties and I feel like growing up it was stressed through media or my peers that you MUST put out or you’ll never land a man. That’s complete BS, and it sucks that girls have to grow up hearing it. My boyfriend was honestly very surprised (and we’ve talked about the first date since then) about how forward I was, and how he never expected anything like that to happen for at LEAST the first few dates.

Unfortunately any sort of casual sex/hook ups I’ve gone through with were definitely a method of self-harm/self-sabotage, and it doesn’t help that it’s shoved down our throats that it’s perfectly fine to sleep with whoever, because it’s empowering!!!! (gag) It totally takes away from the real idea that random hook ups can be dangerous or life-changing (as in pregnancy etc), and doesn’t at all acknowledge that casual sex can be a method of self-harm or even escapism, and never deals with the real issues that may cause someone to want to do these things.

[–]ChoiceScarfMienfooFDS Newbie 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

i'm in my late 20s now and at your age, i definitely felt the influence from mainstream media pushing for women to put out. (i've since stopped consuming msm completely save for my country's news outlet, for factual and geographically relevant news.) i'm so glad more and more young women like yourself are opening their eyes to the reality of the situation!

[–]VS377FDS Newbie 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I just hope that other girls don’t go through the BS I went through as a teen/young adult. Sometimes you only learn the real truth after having experienced it, and without experiencing it there’s a lot of thinking along the lines of “oh well that won’t happen to me”. I also barely consume MSM now, and urge the people close to me to at least reduce their consumption.

[–]VelvettcumFDS Newbie 39 points40 points41 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Who shares this information online? She shouldn’t be encouraging young women to be screwing their man/woman on the first date. I think you should try to know the person and their boundaries, men are only after their sexual pleasure on the first date. You could be banging a serial killer or s3x offender for all we know.

What this picture tells and doesn't tell:

  • he keeps his hands in his pocket instead of embracing her.
  • it doesn't show if he asked her or if she proposed to him
  • it doesn't show how many years she had to wait until the engagement
  • it doesn't show if he bought her a proper ring, or took something from Pandora for $30 or let her pay 50/50
  • it doesn't show if he courted her properly during dating or ghosted her treating her hot and cold in the beginning
  • it doesn't show if he ever cheated on her
  • it doesn't show if he watches pork after every love making
  • it doesn't show if he helps out with cooking and cleaning
  • it doesn't show if he brushes his teeth or washes his ass crack.
  • it doesn't show if he has a job or let her support him financially the last 2 years

Ladies - whatever the text says on the picture - a wedding is nothing to be jealous of. Maybe the dress and hair - I'll give you that.

[–]McccyFDS Apprentice 23 points24 points25 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I was about to comment something like that as well! His body language screams "Look at my hot wife, I don't even do anything and she likes me" He looks like the kind of guy who only looked for someone to cook and clean and she looks like she cares for him and does these things.

[–][deleted] 52 points53 points54 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Why would she post this for people to see

[–]honeybeerollFDS Disciple 22 points23 points24 points 5 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Even the women I know who slept with their men early - men they're very happy with and In one case, married to for a few years now - don't recommend it as the way every woman should handle it. They had some problems navigating the intensity of the relationship in the beginning because of it I think.

Each of us has to operate on the truth that for most men, it is true that they will only think of you in a casual way if you hook up early. Yes, there are exceptions of course!! I know such couples. But we all know it's waaaaaay more common to hook up with a guy early, get real attached to him, and be very sad when he won't date us seriously. It's safer to hold back on physical intimacy until he shows you his true intentions. Better to be safe than sorry!

[–]Inspection-Critical 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I've known several women who followed that intensity to the altar with the guy, and it was a disaster. Attraction doesn't mean compatibility!

[–]honeybeerollFDS Disciple 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Very true! Thankfully for my married friend the marriage wasn't a disaster, but did you see that post here the other day, the guy who wrote into an advice column complaining that his super hot wife "wasn't smart" and he was bored of her, what should he do? And the columnist was like what do you want me to tell you, you should've thought about shared interests and long term compatibility and not just sex before you married her.

[–]Inspection-Critical 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, I saw that one. Infuriating.

Related comment I wrote the other day.

WOW cannot believe that guy said his gf could "keep up with him." She made 3x what he did! Sounds like he was a speck in her rear view, I hope she kept on driving until he was out of her view and life.

A pickme and her LVM spotted in the wild. I hope no one here would marry a piece of wood that sticks his hands in the pockets during a wedding photoshoot.

She's clinging so much on him that I wouldn't be surprised if she's "porn positive" and willingly cleaning his dirty underwear.

[–]TheFinalGirl_2118 points 5 years ago [recovered] (5 children) | Copy Link

Arrogant rare cases are what have us all screwed up. It’s not enough for them to get lucky. They have to rub it in everyone else’s face and commit to the messaging that the way they did it is the way that works.

I’m so over these Horatio Alger dating stories.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

It's so annoying how they'll use their exceptional case to tell others to do the same risky thing they did.

I got lucky, I slept on the first "date" (where we played pool in a pub) and moved in after barely 6 months, but when telling people who ask how we started, I always include a disclaimer that they really shouldn't do what I did.

Granted, we had been friends for a few months (and co-workers), and I'd had the opportunity to observe what he was like when he thought I wasn't looking (his kindness was for real and extended/extends to everyone, not just me). I also wasn't looking for someone to date, just to finally have sex with someone I found attractive after breaking with an ex who had let himself go the minute we moved in together (after 2 years together, and who turned out to be an alcoholic pothead, pornsick, giant baby).

Everything pointed to it being a disaster in waiting but I got lucky that this man is genuinely good. I would absolutely not recommend anyone does what I did.

[–]TheFinalGirl_213 points 5 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

Thank you for your honesty! Also...you kind of confirmed my theory that if you’re just looking for sex, men are more willing to commit. Very interesting...

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I don't know if that's necessarily the case, I think it may have had more to do with him seeing me as someone who didn't need him but just wanted him around. I have a lot going on (the workplace where we met is just my day job, I have a second job which is artistic and a passion, and I have lots of hobbies as well), and he knew that. He later told me that he thought (and still think) I was very interesting and he loved/loves just chatting with me.

But who knows, there might be some truth to your theory too - I don't know if it happens a lot or not.

[–]TheFinalGirl_212 points 5 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

“Someone who didn’t need him, but just wanted him around.”

Also very interesting. Because that’s the energy I was giving off for a long time, but it was always interpreted as lack of interest or unwillingness to commit. I actually had an ex breakdown and get upset with me during an argument that it bothered him that I didn’t need him. He is now married to a woman who quite literally needs him, they’re actually pretty co-dependent. I’m just one of those unlucky women who can’t win either way.

I do appreciate you sharing, though, and I’m glad you were lucky. Somebody needs to be.😊

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm happy to share, I hope it helps. 😊

I think we're onto something there. My fiancé doesn't need me either. As I got to know him, I found out that he was an actual adult (he cooks well, does chores, pays his bills on time and lives a healthy lifestyle: the man not only eats lots of veggies, he actually likes them and researches what's healthy for his body and mind), which is why my gut didn't sound alarm bells when he and I decided to move in together so early (unlike with my ex). He's also with me because I add something positive to his already fulfilling life, and he thinks in terms of "us"; he wants to provide for me even though he knows that I don't need him to. It's a demonstration of his love, kindness and generosity.

NVMs and LVMs likely want a needy woman because they need a one to live a life that's passibly decent. And if we don't need them, then there is a power imbalance that's not in their favour, which I guess is why your ex broke down. It was unbearable to him that you could walk out at any time when he couldn't.

I think you're winning; you're not with him, you're not with a man who's a burden. You're free to live life in your own terms. You're so much luckier than your ex's wife who would be completely lost if he died tomorrow.

I mean she’s gorgeous and gave sex on a platter. It’s a LVMs dream to lock someone like her down before he starts using his elevated status to pick up pick mes like candy.

Good luck with that marriage sis. A man with that little self control with you won’t have much for the next woman.

[–]esthermaniiiFDS Newbie 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I saw this AND I CRINGED. It makes it even worse that she’s a black woman, considering how we are stereotyped as hypersexual in society. Lots of women will look at this and think having sex with men on the first date is okay when it greatly reduces the chances of us vetting men properly.

She should’ve kept that to herself. Also, we don’t know what type of man she’s married to or if their relationship is healthy. So meh. She really shouldn’t have posted that.
