If you are getting a proposal with some weird ring that looks like this (probably made from from napkin and pebble at best), this proposal was not thought out, and you are being told you are not worth the effort to plan or the money. Nothing but an impulse, from a man in his literal 40's, for a relationship that just hit a year. Happily accepting this you are setting the standard that this is the type of treatment you will accept in your life.

Extra cringe bonus points for using the reference of the old Mormon movie Johnny Lingo where women are bought for marriage using cows to propose. He bought 8 mini child toy cows to show she's worth paying 8 cows for (no I'm not kidding link here: https://imgur.com/a/loUxyng). Ironically he's also showing her that she isn't worth 8 cows (women should not be bought with cows obviously) with that ring, and probably spent about $5 on plastic cows and that was the whole cost of the proposal.

Giving the highest and unwarranted benefit of the doubt it’s probably white ribbon and black/brown ribbon wrapped around whatever is keeping the ring together… not a wedding ring, that’s for sure, more like a kid’s craft.

Now… not giving benefit of the doubt… is that onions and a raisin, is that a pebble and a slug, is it wrapped up and wet paper towel with a clump of coal? 😂

I can understand sentimental things in place of actual rings but I fail to see how this can be sentimental. It’s not even consistently wrapped… 😔
