Do you remember when Rupi Kaur had some fake menstruation blood on her trousers on Instagram. It got reported and banned. Men and pickme's from all over the world fell over themselves to tell everyone how disgusted they were by seeing a fully clothed woman going through something very natural.

I have poly cystic ovarian syndrome and I am completely out of Fucks to give when it comes to talking about menstruation. I guess bleeding everyday for almost a year will do that to you.

The doctor wants me to get an IUD (I have a history with blood clots, so standard birth control is out) and I am so done. Any guy who wants to date me will have to deal with blood, end of story.

Have y’all seen this bright ass pink glove 3 men created and went on some kind of European version of Shark Tank to pitch?

It’s so women can use a glove to touch their own bodies and wrap their sanitary products in a pink plastic glove instead of toilet paper so men don’t have to see it.

They claim they lived with women and the products in the trash smelled bad. Dude, take out the trash if your nose is so sensitive! Also the environment doesn’t need more plastic because you’re so obsessed with women’s vaginas until blood gets involved.

Lmfao. I dated a guy who was completely against violent movies, but loved wholesome stuff. He would always have a jumbo pack of different sized tampons under the bathroom sink in case a girl needed it. He was super generous in terms of all things female and even got a vagina opener thing after I got my IUD to check the strings for me every month for two years. (That didn't work out, so he ended up getting a vasectomy.)

There were definitely way more downsides but when it came to female stuff he was a fricken gentleman.

Edit: I know you don't need a speculum, I was just always super paranoid and he'd show me lol.

I think this post is the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. It hit me on a deep, angry level. Why are men so pathetically ignorant, pathologically self-centered, and painfully unaware? My ex absolutely hated periods and was grossed out every time it was my week. He would always make snide comments about how in the Bible men made their women sleep on the floor instead of the bed because they’re “filthy”. Ugh thank God I cut that one loose.

I am not shy about mentioning menstruation with men in my life. One time at a work a male coworker asked how I was doing and I said I wasn’t feeling that great. He asked why and I told him I had cramps, immediately he was like “TMI!!” and I said “is it really though?” and after thinking about it for a second he conceded that no, it wasn’t. I would never be like “I’m gushing blood!” but mentioning cramps is no different than sharing I have a headache or back pain.

In my mind, bringing up my period in casual ways when it’s relevant to the current conversation helps to destigmatize menstruation. It’s not gross, it’s not disgusting, it’s a normal biological process that half of the world experiences. And furthermore I don’t really care if merely mentioning it makes a man uncomfortable, get over it. We are all adults here, you will be fine.
