Why do they want us so small ...? Oh ye because then we're so much less intimidating / easier to intimidate. I suffered with Anorexia and lost all my muscle tone - could barely squat and lost the ability to jump - I was 3rd best high-jumoer at my school and could leap across puddles and streams like nothing. They want us small, they want us weak, they want us insecure at any weight. And when you're small and weak and dainty and childlike, you get so much male attention...but get with a guy and guaranteed that he either has a fetish or he'll soon be messing with your head - either calling you "fat" when you're practically on death's doorstep or telling you that you're a "stuck-up skinny bitch " and that men actually love curves.
You can't win unless you don't play the body shape hole-in-the-wall game where the 'ideal' is constantly shifting.
My mom said something once which struck me:. She told me "why would I want to look like I'm easy to knock over ?". It made me think - why do I want to look like I can get shoved to the side in the street or easily manhandled?
Your body type is your body type, be strong, be small, be big, be curvy, straight, butch, toned, chubby, scrawny...be whatever ...be a mixture of them all...but be YOU - catering to society's /aka men's current trend in body type automatically makes you a pushover in their eyes. They're always gonna be shifting the goalposts so we can never actually "win" anyway... Your body is your body. You only get one and it is absolutely imperative that you accept it- that you look the way that you want, that makes you feel happy, strong ...fuck what everyone else thinks.. df does some dude's opinion matter? Show it off or stay modest ...anyone who has a problem is *not* ever worth dealing with. It's hard because the media is gonna be screaming in your face that you need to change xyz, but they just want your money. And some dude who goes for you when you're desperately trying to conform to ideals is just gonna be the type who wants to show off that he can get the most recent "in" female model. It's just a flex and not the kind of dude you want to be wasting your time on.
Sorry , I just hate what society does and always has done to women's bodies - portraying us as if we're some kind of art style , always changing the fashion- but the fashion being our literal human bodies - foot binding, corsets, neck rings, excessive surgery ..this is the cost. Wasting our time, money and health focusing on our selves from the perspective of an art critic.
...and back to the point ...yeah men don't even know what we weigh anyway. Men always think I weigh less than I do. Often they're way off. And they walk around with swagger.stuffing burgers and being genuinely unhealthy (nevermind mostly ugly), waving their audacity all over the place..
The only people who should know your number on the scale should be someone you trust who loves you or like a personal trainer or something like a doctor. No one else will be able to guess and no one else should know.

I felt that way for a long time. Guess what, I was at least 60 lbs overweight on meeting my HVM husband - he actually likes chubby/fat ladies though supports my weight loss efforts. I started (very suddenly) getting super popular with guys when I decided to PRETEND I was a total femme fatale beauty queen. I forced myself to act that way, dress that way, walk that way, evaluate guys from that perspective... I was actually very poor at the time but somehow the mindset shift did amazing things. Don't hold yourself back - and don't expect instant results either, it took me years of work to pull off that whole change and get it together, but once it happened it was drastic. I did have one dumb relationshit with an LVM before meeting my husband but I learned quickly and snapped up my husband quickly. Basically, be kind to yourself, queen!

I'm not quite sure it does. As we've discussed at length in this sub, women tend to be single for very different reasons than men. Meaning, when women are single it's typically due to choice--the men just aren't worth it. When men are single, they're usually single by women's choice--they were tried and found wanting.
There's also some other options you touched on like trauma or self-esteem issues; but again women are much more conscious of those things and will be working on it--exactly as you said! Most men in similar situations would wallow; become bitter incels or some other garden variety misogynist.
Short answer: I absolutely do not judge single women like I judge single men, so don't worry about it. And when and if you do want to date, I would keep your long-term singleness to yourself. They don't need to know. If they ask, just keep it vague and say things just didn't work out with your last relationship (s).

My tinder used to be really nerdy but also showed off my achievements and stability. I was getting so many emotionally unstable guys matching with me and challenging me about my video game or philosophy knowledge and didn't understand how they were being both condescending and childish by that. My friends told me to tone my tinder down and not mention the nerdy stuff and put one swimsuit picture up. So I pulled most of my personality off tinder, and it was super generic. Suddenly less manchildren, less creeps and less conversations over all. I had to initiate more conversations, which I don't mind, but I think some guys didn't like that lol. But the connections I did have were much more normal which beats creepy weird. Bottom line, some men don't know how to behave and they absolutely expect women to deal with it, love it or fix it. I've stopped dating men who mention they like gaming, as every "gamer" guy I met has this idealized Sex/Maid/Mommy version of me that just wants to watch him game. Not even play; watch. Like I don't wanna sit and play MHW too. 🙄. And then they spend like 14 hours a day gaming, which just kills any sex appeal because it's so damn gross.
What actually sucks (for them) though, is I'm really a wuss about jump scares and I 100% million percent have bought all the dark souls games once so my boyfriend (at the time) could play and I could just dictate the behind the scenes decisions lmao. I've been waiting on an excuse to do this with Bloodborne, but, I want it to be more of a fun bonding thing for an HV man- you know, babe, I bought you this game but please only play it when I'm around I'm very invested just, uh, scared instead of obligatory to fulfill an incels fantasy 😬

I had gotten my ex a boxset of anime he really likes, since he had expressed interest in getting all the seasons of the show himself. I had my own apartment and he lived with his parents, so he left the boxset of anime DVDs at my apartment for us to watch together from time to time. The boxset had so, so many episodes/hours of this show he liked. After what had degraded into a "situationship" no longer had any hope, he had told me that if I had really cared about him, I would have watched a lot of these anime episodes *by myself*, without him. Like, what? I had only watched this anime to spend time with him and make him happy. I could generate a little interest in it because he loved it, but I didn't like it anywhere near enough to watch days and days worth of some anime show all by myself as an adult with so many more things to do, responsibilities, as well as interests of my own. Seriously, wtf? To top it off, never, never had he ever engaged in my interests. I told him I wanted to go kick around a soccer ball or play amateur tennis? We never did in many years. I told him I wanted to go to certain bars or parties? Nope. I told him I liked a certain show? Never in a million years would I have expected him to watch any of it. This only scratches the *surface* of his level of entitlement. Unbelievable. I have no idea how I fell in love with him in the first place.

I hope my earlier comments were seen as tongue in cheek and people reading weren't too offended.
The men I know are single for a number of reasons; primarily just a disconnection with interacting with actual women.
For those of you that read R/niceguys, it's men who are like - women are goldiggers - women don't want men like me -women want bad boys Etc etc etc
That disassociation leads to men searching for female connections in other ways - porn, only fans, escorts, trips to Amsterdam

Social media and the internet have changed the way people search for a partner, more emphasis on looks, more choice etc
