Money is an object already, so wanting my money wouldn't objectify me. To be clear I'd be greatly upset if someone wanted me just for money, but I wouldn't call it "objectification" since it doesn't objectify me.

Unironically, I do actually want to be objectified and fetishized, but for my body parts or who I am, not something that would be given away like money or gifts.

If someone said "I only care about your eyebrows." or "I read a fanfic where someone acted just like you, and to be honest I just see you as the real version of the fictional character." that would be weird, but I'm not going to say no to that.

Yeah I feel victimized when I see a man with a house and a car. Why would he have those things if he wasn’t advertising that he has money and other tangible assets available for me to take. The ones with the expensive cars and watches are for sure walking licks. They dont buy things just because they like them or have personal interests. I don’t consent to my head being filled with thoughts of robbery but there you go.

It’s true. Objectification is part of how we connect to other humans. Men (and women) love objectification when it’s good and we hate it when it results in problems.

The problem with the “objectification is bad/good” mental model is that it’s neither. It’s just an internal process of perception inside people’s minds. What’s good? Good sex where people eagerly objectify themselves and each other - that’s good stuff. What’s bad? Someone harming someone else based on objectification is bad.

It’s a red herring or a tangent to go after objectification. I think the real problems are harassment, sexual assault, assuming guilt, etc.

Being used for money is not comparable to being used for sex.

Sex is like pizza; even when it's bad, it's still pretty damn good. You're not going to promote the traditionalist view that women don't enjoy sex and have no sex drive, are you?

Sex is enjoyable for both and is its own reward. Nothing is taken, nothing is given away.

In turn, when a man spends his money on a woman, there's a clear loss and gain, respectively, for the man and the woman.

The problem with this is I’d argue you cannot be objectifying someone if you are doing so for their looks, because looks are just as much a part of you as a person as any other trait,
So in comparison being used for money is actually objectifying whereas used for something that’s actually a part of you could never be.
