When I was in college, back in the before times, woman made fun of guys in their 30's trying to hit on them.

Generally speaking women want the same age + a couple of years, but not THAT many years.

SOME women will go for it for a lot of reasons, but the good ones you would want to LTR probably won't, and while you aren't trying those girls are finding like aged BF's and building a life together.

Personally I think an older man has an advantage but it still comes down to being attractive and looking good for that age. A 21 year old ugly dude doesn't have a better chance than a 45 year old dude in great shape and is decent looking.

I think with age peers, there’s more social pressure to conform to certain generational standards/ideals that make it harder for people who don’t fit them, both men and women, to pair up with each other. However, dating older or younger, depending on what end of the age spectrum you are, can free yourself and your partner from having to satisfy those generation/peer specific ideals in certain ways, and so you have a smoother time bonding and finding what you need/like in the relationship. So, it can be easier, more fun, and more rewarding to date outside your age/peer group, and I think if you’re having trouble as a young man, there should be no shame or mockery in you dating older women if you’ve found that works for you.

That being said, I think the real problem with the current dating market for heterosexual relationships is that it’s too heavily skewed towards this weird, toxic mix of capitalistically inspired hypersexuality and aromanticism, and as a result most young men process their romantic needs as sexual needs, and lose out on sex they could have with people closer to their age/peer group because they try to look for sex/just fucking around instead of for relationships and romance. So, in essence, I think if you’re a young dude looking for sex and you haven’t been able to find a lot of it, there’s a good chance your sabotaging your efforts for sex because what you really want is romance, and if you put it out there that you want romance and a relationship, and filter out the hypersexual aromantic people, you’ll have an easier time finding women who will give you want you want, and to whom you can give what they want, and that that will give you a life of more and better sex than if you just keep trying to fuck around all the time.

I'm engaged now but if I had to play the field again, yes, I would aim at women +28.

If I had to date though, I would dig on a younger pool. Most women my age already have kids or are too desperate to get married.

Yes your dating makes sense you are lowest value on the dating market I mean depending on how good the guy holds himself you might be below a 60 year old but clearly below a succesful good in shape 50 year old. So maybe you have luck and a women dates you for a few months, but nothing will stick, like if you are in the top 20% of man of your age.

I guess college visiting man have a higher success rate but hard to keep it up long time. I try to remember my college time and all the guys I know, and somehow a lot had girl friends and some married them even later on, but my friends were mostly people with some background, sometimes they knew the girl from before entering college, the foreigner part is important because here in germany people from the south are considered more calibrated and probably interesting, so they have a bonus. Often they are the onse that get also much earlier all the women in clubs and so on, germans are a bit cold so the hotter blooded from other countries have easy game.

And I was in a strange position between the guys I had lot's of status but because I pedelised women and lack of understanding women I had not much success with them. I can't give numbers maybe 50% of my year had girl friends, so a unusual high number and often ltrs.

Well one friend brought his wife from afrika from a longer hollyday there, but as college man you are clearly from status above average, so it should not suprise, and maybe they startet with 20 of course all the guys that had girl friends in shape, but I digress.

Currently I need something high to get even interested a >30 is not likely make me ask her out cold aproach, so I would have to know her through some friends or something to make a move maybe.

I must train my brain so that women are not thin air to me at this point they are close to invisible to me. (not that many 10s run around where I live)

Now I'm 32 and both seem impossible, except for really desperate chicks/single mothers my age who don't really bring much to the table and are looking for a provider.

So much of what men are required to bring to the table is tied to their status and earning potential. Which is why guys under 30 should just spend their time concentrating on career. The older woman is perfect for dealing with sexual frustration, they generally don't want the relationship just the sex and they are not going to be suffering from baby rabies either.

I date/hook up with men my age, to a max of 5 years older. Same with my friends, although the guys might go a few years younger, but not much. Then again I'm a relatively normal, not fucked up person, as are most of my friends. My brother is in his early 20s and he dates/hooks up with girls in his early 20s.

By my perspective its like i have to be 5 years or older to be with someone. Girls in my teens were with people my age(21), women my age are with (25+) and so on. I just socialize and feel like no one is intrested, so i dont even try

I went through a mid 30s single mom phase. Many of them wanted my babies. Im since over that phase. But its weird i get along better with older women. Our social views align better. 25 years old and younger girls are mostly vegans and social justice warriors. 2 things i am annoyed of. You need social circle or advanced social ability to get attractive fit women your age (young), or advanced luck, or advanced looks, or a combo. Young hot women are in high demand because they’ll no longer be young in 10 years, unless you’re talking about 15 year old girls, but societies have agreed that 15 year olds be off limits, even though people with low IQs, psychiatric problems, personality disorders, and addiction are given the adulthood status

Tthe idea that no guy who isn't a rich Chad is getting laid is dumb. All you have to do is go outside and you'll find men who aren't extremely conventionally attractive with girls their own age in stores like Walmart and Target.

That said, obviously not being rich or hot is going to make things tougher, especially if you're going for the pretty girls every guy wants. Basic supply vs demand theory in action.

But if you don't try, you're literally guaranteed not to get laid and not to get a girlfriend. So that's not a good idea if you actually want to get laid and get a girlfriend.
