Well, I've never concerned myself with doing all the housework when I cohabit with a man. I'll just do enough to keep a home acceptably clean after myself. It's not hard. If I could find a partner who also believes in cleaning up a bit here and there, it would be excellent.

If you have other full adults in a house that refuse to do housework for whatever reason shit just gets gross though. I've had similar issues with slob roommates so this is by no means just a male gender issue.

The problem is that if you happen to have a man who believes that you're going to do all the housework and he's not because he's a dude (and these men seem to be the norm, not the exception), you have to dump him if you want a clean house. So I've dumped all my long term partners, which is something that I feel pretty positive about overall since, in addition to the housework issue, I've never felt that they were contributing positively to my life.

The more women like me who are pretty easygoing about housework and mainly concerned about quality of life instead of performing all the tasks your stay at home boomer mom did, the more forever alone men there will be in the world.

Do you know why the term "strong independent woman" is such a laughing stock among guys and manosphere in general? Because nearly no woman who claims to be a "strong independent woman" is actually a strong independent woman.

A strong woman is someone with strong will, has strong principles and is willing to stand up for it at all costs. Very few women actually stand up to this ideal.

A lot of times what women say they want vs what they actually want are wildly different things. A lot of women irl are pretty much unwilling to acknowledge their hypergamous nature that's causing most of their problems.

If a woman wants 50:50 household, then she has to temper her hypergamy down ten notches and be realistic about her ideals and choose men who are similar to her. But nope. Women always gravitate towards men who make more money than her in many cases. Its so blatant that atleast 7 out of 10 couples I know irl always has the guy who make atleast 30% to 100% more money than the girl. Probably even more since I don't know how much money these guys make exactly.

Why do women demand equality but CHOOSE men who have higher net worth than them? Why do women virtue signal about equality but deliberately prefer men who make more money than them?

This is a classic case of women wanting cake and eat it too. Its what I call "double dipping" by women: Claiming to be victim but also at the same time proclaiming how "strong" and "independent" they are.

Modern women are feminist victimhood grifters by the day, and right wing conservatives in the night.

If you want a MAN who walks and talks and acts like a man, then you got to be a WOMAN who walks and talks and acts like a woman. If you demand anything otherwise and demand unrealistic masculine ideals from men (such as still expecting your man to be a breadwinner) while ignoring the feminine ideals yourself, then you shouldn't pair up with a man for LTR. Ever.

I don't really care about splitting things down the center 50:50 for housecleaning. That kind of attention to detail goes against my genral approach to cleaning. I mean, with dual incomes hiring a maid to supplement is not an issue either.

I'm saying I've never dated a man who shows any motivation to clean anything and a lot of motivation to hamster himself into reasons why he should never touch a dirty dish. That type of attitude is just a shitty one to have in a partner.

I am a top 10% earner and I've dated men who made more than me and men who've made less. I've obviously made more and less myself at various times in my life.

I do expect my male partner to understand that I won't be just taking over all basic home hygiene duties for him and if he does expect that he will get dumped for his garbage attitude and general displays of lack of conscientiousness.

It's such a drag to have someone in your home with that attitude. I don't typically complain about it either. I just observe the behavior and dump. Usually they're the ones complaining about me not spending more time on household tasks even though at that point I'm the only one who is still cleaning. I cant imagine going thight life with such cognitive dissonance. Being a literal slob who refuses to clean and complaining to someone else that your place isn't clean enough.

I cant respect anyone with that level of mental deficiency.

I could be a dick and tell you, you made your bed, now sleep in it. I also understand that from the point of average woman, she just comes home exhausted to find her husband's briefs on the floor.

Calling it unpaid labour however, is very rich, no pun intended.

Are we now calculating contributions to the household? If the husband makes more, does it reflect in the amount of chores he has to do? If my girlfriend was an accomplished executive, and I was some middle management guy (let's for second pretend couples like this exist) and my financial contributions would basically not make a dent, how would she look at me if I just stayed at home?

Can we stop pretending that provider and caretaker roles are gender neutral when they obviously aren't. Women constantly complain about manchildren that make less than them and are less educated. They push for quotas and preferential hiring, equality but then turn around and go for someone superior than them constantly, whether in career or elsewhere.

Oh, I got what you mean. The thing is that it's better to have a choice, women nowadays at least can stay single and provide for themselves. And it seems that quite a lot of do opt out from dating altogether.

I'm not sure why men here have issues with the term of unpaid labor. Imv, it shouldn't be paid, but it should be divided equally.

And I think that chores and child raising should be divided according to one's free time, not to their income. It doesn't make sense to make your spouse who works shift in hospital to do more, because their salary is lower, whatever their gender is.

They aren't gender neutral, men have their own gender limitations and I do think that they should push against them. It still doesn't mean that most women would be glad to SAHMs though, I'm not sure why you've brought that up here.

There's a very obvious implication by calling it unpaid labour.

While I think your preference is reasonable, we're now talking about your preference, not the broader concepts. I am not even against splitting housework to be honest, I cook better than most women.

That’s your interpretation. They could be discussing the ease of the duty or the ease to learn it. Either way my point stands that maintenance cleaning services is easy to do and easy to learn and is work no one wants to do because of how tedious and constant it is. Those who have to maintain a full house of people feel the same way. Ask any sister with a bunch of brothers from a “traditional” family. She did the daily bullshit and was annoyed that her brother was able to play games and scratch his balls and take out the trash once a week.

There's some truth to this.

When I (F) lived with my ex (M), I stressed myself out trying to be what I thought would make me the perfect girlfriend and stepmom. I felt this pressure from who knows where to be the happy homemaker (even though I worked full-time...). We contributed equally financially, but I took on over 85% of the household management.

Then one day, I hit a wall and just stopped caring. I took a step back and asked myself "What's the worse thing that happens if I stopped doing __________?" I didn't gain anything from making sure the house was perfectly tidy before custody time or that the fridge was stoked with everyone's snacks. No one appreciated it, and it just stressed me out, so why bother?

The relationship was unhealthy in other ways, but it proved that I no longer have interest in being with men who won't contribute equally in the household. I'd rather be single and live alone than live with someone who doesn't pull their weight or doesn't appreciate when I go above and beyond.

Yea it's been 5 years, i went 272-> 190 in 2015-16 then i dated my college ex in 17 which was slightly stressful, I've talked about it before and i liked her but probably didn't love her, when comparing it to the girl I'm dating now, and she was not very intelligent so it got on my nerves a lot.

Anyways i gained back up to 230 and then lost it again when we broke up and hovered between 195 and 205 for a couple years, then gained to 212 during quarantine and lost that again around august of 2020. Since then been 195-200 ish and dialed my diet in a bit better in the last quarter year and lost a few more lbs to 187 but still don't see abs. My lifts stayed the same so i know i didn't lose a lot of muscle or anything but it's still kind of frustrating. I can improve more on my diet, i still eat bad foods sometimes. But i might check out surgery, i just don't go to the doctor much and am not super thrilled about maybe having surgery because of the risks involved.

I look good, just not what I'd like to be. I have good muscle definition elsewhere but not that great in the midsection.

So there's no mental labor going to work out of the home.

My ex didn't have to do any of that.I took care of everything spoiled her to be honest all the bills are automated as well.

I would often call her from work and ask what's she was doing her usual reply was "nothing,watching,Netflix, playing videogames,or on twitter.

I know a few other guys in similar situations their wives or GFs don't do any house work,pay any bills they have lives of leisure.

Guys like me products of single mother households grew up doing everything.I don't even see domestic chores as a woman's responsibility.Im bigger stronger have more energy Most things I can do better than a woman.

If she helps me do things or does things before I do them that's a bonus.

I just want a woman to be my peace not a maid or slave. Treat me kindly forgive my trespasses accept my flaws appreciate me be loyal and faithful because a man will get that nowhere else in the world.

I'm sorry, but men still perform the majority of necessary jobs to keep the economy and society functioning. From police/army to construction to engineering, it's all primarily men. The few women that are in these industries are primarily in a managerial position.

When women entered the workforce they didn't replace or compete with men. They simply put political pressure on the system opening up a whole bunch of newly created middle management positions to be filled, so that companies could hit gender quotas. The problem is the vast majority of these positions do not generate net value.

If women entering the workforce produced the same value as men did, we'd have seen our standard of living go up, not down.

If men walked away en-mass, you would see society crumble around you. The cushy jobs most women (and some men) have are dependent on the state extracting resources from men.

You know why? Because they also benefit from that work.

Even if theoretically men do worse alone (women are happy with their cats and have larger support networks, etc...), women still have much more to lose. Playing chicken with someone who has nothing to lose will only end badly.

Hi, I'm a police officer in Britain. Response cops here aren't issued with guns and the vast majority are not issued Tasers. About half of the officers on response with me are women.

Some of the women are powerlifters who can expect to be as strong or stronger than the men they're called to arrest. Most aren't. Shockingly, I sometimes arrest men who are physically stronger than me, too. The list of top 5 officers I'd most like to have beside me in a fight includes a couple of women, and does not include the physically strongest person in the station, or the heaviest.

This is actual experience, from someone actually doing the job you seem to claim that women can't do, or can't do properly. Technology and knowledge has advanced to the point where I could turn out a female officer with decent BJJ and takedown knowledge, PAVA and a Taser and she'd run rings round you and your higher grip strength every time.

If you both work full time then childcare is work that would be outsourced, and for many people cleaning the house is too. If you both work full time with kids then you are likely to be paying those expenses.

Childcare can cost more than rent/mortgage, food, electricity etc combined. If I put a kid under 2 in full time nursery then it would be double the cost of my mortgage payments.

The money saved by your partner in not having to pay for childcare more than makes up for them paying your share of mortgage/rent, utilities, food and pension contributions for a few years. Particularly since you then get the benefit of having someone at home full time to care for the kids and do stuff around the house, and the benefit of not having any negative impacts to your own career - you don't have to risk taking your share of unpaid leave if your kid gets sick, or miss out on promotions because you need to keep your hours the same etc.

As I've said, I have no interest in staying home and I won't, even if it costs me a shitload. But many people do not have this option financially and are forced out of work because it's literally cheaper to have one person not working than to pay for childcare. Government support is phased depending on age of the kids and the maximum is 35 hours a week. That doesn't cover most people and nurseries won't chop and change the hours on a weekly basis, so generally we'd need to pay for childcare from 7am to 7pm every day because we can make no guarantees we'd be home within those times. This goes for everyone who does any kind of shift work.

I've lived alone and I've lived with people. Cleaning takes me minutes a day when I live alone. "A few hours" is how long it takes when you live with messy people and if you work full time is not an acceptable amount of time to be cleaning.

The company compensates all damages that I cause. I burn two rooms to ashes due to clumsiness and smoking on the workplace. Since those two rooms are still cheaper than losing half of the stocks, they shut up, repair the rooms, and never fire or penalize me.

The company pays me as much as it is reasonably possible relative to immediate loss of half of the stocks. If they try to cut my salary, I leave with half of the stocks.

Minor building works isn't what I'd call a renovation

My mistake. I didn't realize tearing out an entire kitchen and replacing the cabinets and floors, etc, was considered minor and not a renovation. Thank god I had a man like you explain this to me. I'm so dumb.

You don't upgrade windows, you replace them

Just looked it up for my area:

A home owner is allowed to do their own plumbing if the owner resides at that location, depending on the complexity of the installation.

As long as the electrical work you need to do is minor and doesn't involve something like changing the main electrical panel, you can often legally do it yourself.
