Since when were these redpill views?

women are dumb, rape is okay, etc.

[–]Clauderoughly103 points104 points105 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Shhh don't don't ruin the feminist masturbatory fantasy that the patriarchy actually exists, and we're it.

[–]TheEyeUrnShaft62 points63 points64 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I like being the patriarchy. Don't take that away from me.

[–]Mayoyayo41 points42 points43 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

If I ever have a family, Im officially gonna go by the moniker, The Patriarch.

Like, Hey is that your father? Yes but we refer to him as Patriarch.

[–]vaker8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Dude, fuck. I needed this idea years ago :)

[–]TheEyeUrnShaft3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Fantastic mafia name too

[–]zezozio0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, actually, this is the name/title my father has taken. Well, to his grand children at least!

FTFY!

I am the patriarchy! You are lowly rape man.

[–]Petrarch160324 points25 points26 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I used to get upset when I saw the patent lies and mis-characterizations of this subreddit. However this is actually beneficial to this subreddit. I read somewhere, maybe in a Sun-Tzu book, that over-stating your case is actually more harmful to your argument than just stating the simple truth. When the incongruities between what you're saying and the real truth become apparent, all credibility is lost and you're no longer able to make a potent argument.

I think this explains the surges in subscription whenever an anti-trp thread pops up on the default subs. People come here expecting to see pure misogyny, and when they look around they see its nothing like that.

[–]Delixcroix0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I cannot remember how many decades has passed since Feminism has made a potent argument that can stand on its own...

[–]vaker-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Simple. It never did.

[–][deleted] 36 points37 points38 points 12 years ago* (12 children) | Copy Link

They're just the usual strawman concepts of TRP. It's much more difficult to attack our actual arguments than to make up a completely different version of TRP and attack that.

[–]SovietRaptor13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Or single out the idiots that post here that actually believe that.

[–]puaSenator45 points46 points47 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

I don't think I've ever seen anyone advocate for rape, ever. Not even the fringe hardliners. The most I've heard about rape is when someone would talk about LMR. When we think of LMR, it's when she's cutely eyeing you with a smirk on her face saying she can't come to my apartment even though everything about her says she does, so I go ahead and keep trying. When they think of LMR, they think a woman is yelling "NO!" at the top of her lungs and we are forcing her onto our bed saying, "SHUT UP! We know you like it!"

[–]SnowCrabThunderDick35 points36 points37 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I've been lurking here for nearly a year now and I haven't seen a single person her advocate rape. I haven't even seen anything that could be misinterpreted as vaguely advocating rape. No idea where they get that.

No idea where they get that.

They make it up in an attempt to attack us. It's similar to female group behavior. Use rumors for character assassination.

[–]randomkloud0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

there was one guy that did, long ago, i stumbled across it when i was searching for something on trp (cant recall what it was). his post was in oblivion and he was thoroughly bashed in the comments.

[–]DanReggins2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's kind of weird deciding how to react. They use the strawman attacks, then say something like, "just focus on self improvement, and don't let anyone take advantage of you!"

Uh... that's exactly what we're about!

The BP philosophy has given him a life of virginity... And now they are continuing to insist he continues following the very philosophy that has him given him nothing... Poor guy. Hope he chooses the pill.

Uh huh. Well, allow me to let you in on a little secret: the day that Jezebel of Feministing start publishing articles advising women to head down to the library and gather up the meek, studious men that will respect them and value them, TRP will disappear from the face of the Earth. poof gone. You guys win.

It's such a simple concept. TRP exists because it works. If we were teaching a strategy that didn't work, and we were all just delusional, TRP would shrivel up and die. However, we are growing at a very fast rate. Must be doing something right.

[–][deleted] 40 points41 points42 points 12 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

They did point out to him that there's nothing wrong with being a virgin.

Unless, of course, he doesn't fucking want to be a virgin.

[–]puaSenator46 points47 points48 points 12 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

It's so ridiculous... It's this feminist anti-progress mentality that pisses me off. "Listen, there is nothing wrong with being a loser! Just be yourself! You may never get laid, miss out on a lot of fun in life, and I'll personally never touch you. But that's OKAY! It's okay to be a loser. And when you are crying at night, I'll come over and we can talk about our feelings rather than solve the problem!"

Exactly like you said. People have choices. If you are a virgin, that's fine. I wont hate you for it. But if you don't want to be a virgin, I'm going to help you. I'm not going to tell you to just give up and accept living a life of less than mediocrity.

[–]ajswdf17 points18 points19 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I never thought of it that way. There are a lot of people in the US who on the one hand point out all the ways our country is lacking, and say we should improve on it. Yet if you were to point out the ways an individual was lacking, and suggest ways to improve them, you're "shaming" them.

[–]dreamingawake099 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Shit, I call how much the US is lacking on many things as a developed nation, and I get called, "unpatriotic", or to "go over there". The fuck, I just want to help contribute....but whatever...thats a different topic. But I was called an asshole for suggesting a friend of mine to eat better and exercise if he wants to get better looks from girls. If the truth makes me a damn asshole, then I'll take that label, but, I refuse to see folks I care about suffer in quiet because some asshole said that its ok being a virgin or single, when you truly do not want that in life.

[–]ajswdf3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I really hate this about people. I would love if people were able to freely speak their mind about stuff. I'd be a way better person because I would know more of what I need to improve on.

[–]malignantbacon1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I find that a lot of people who claim to seek open minds neglect to mention that they want your mind open-- only just to what they want you to believe and nothing else. Same goes for notions of equality, "safe spaces," etc.

[–]rule_of_law13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think the real reason is the classic "if it worked for me, it'll work for you mentality".

When a woman gets a guy to fuck/be a boyfriend/commit/be a husband, they haven't really gone out of their way to prove anything to the guy. They've gotten it by "just being themselves".

Guys have to be proactive about it whereas "just be yourself" is passive advice in the long run. If you're at a table talking with women and the guy keeps stuttering and he never does when he's just with guys, then "just be yourself" is what he needs to do, although it's easier said than done. When you're a 23 year old virgin, "just be yourself" is defacto bad advice. Period. Point blank.

[–]Dishmayhem9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My personal theory is that women desperately resist the notion that men can play the attraction game too.

[–]Endorsed ContributorrebuildingMyself2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They want beta bux to be there for them post wall.

[–]Brotagonist_010 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not unconvinced that women do this as a means to weed out betas from their alpha selection.

True. They just don't realize that they do it.

[–]Endorsed ContributorrebuildingMyself5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"just be patient and wait until the sluts hit the wall at 35. Then they'll settle with you because you can pay off their debt and raise their alpha spawn"

"While they detest your existence all the while..."

[–]mikado1226 points27 points28 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Here's part of the reply from the highest rated response:

"-I am, however, a 23-year-old virgin

This is a key point. It's okay to be a virgin. You are probably feeling intense pressure on this point though; many people do. That's okay. However, realize that this fact has skewed your view. You are vulnerable because of it, so subs like theredpill are trying to sell you a attractive/easy-sounding solution to your vulnerability. Just like weight loss scams and Scientology and other extreme religion. Don't buy into it."

They really don't give a shit about him. If you read the full response you'll notice there's not one tip on how to attract women or boost his game. This is why Reddit needs TRP.

[–]reedrichardsstretch 13 points13 points13 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Plus, the virgin-shaming that would happen from most women, even if they would never admit it.

[–]reedrichardsstretch 21 points21 points21 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I have come to believe it's because they demonize sexuality, male sexuality in particular. Thus, any depression / sadness that occur because of lack of sex is unjustified, in and of itself.

[–]TRP Vanguardnicethingyoucanthave[S] 20 points21 points22 points 12 years ago [recovered] (7 children) | Copy Link

they demonize sexuality, male sexuality in particular.

normal male sexuality is a pathology to them.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

This sums up why I stopped listening to the nay-sayers. How can natural evolved human psychology be considered wrong? Fighting to suppress your natural masculinity and psychology will lead to unhappiness. period.

[–]ubrayj02 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Well, there is a lot of natural human psychology that leads to tribalism, revenge killings, kidnapping, warfare, etc. that needs to be dialed down when we're living cheek to jowl in civilizations. That is perhaps not the best argument to make.

[–]vaker1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Maybe. But societies that practiced those things existed for thousands of years under very harsh circumstances.

'modern society' exists for less than a hundred years give or take, depending on one's definition of modern. So the jury is still out and it's not obvious that all is well.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Human psychology has the potential to do good and evil. I'm just saying, give yourself the potential! If you are actively squashing your masculinity, you have all the potential to be a trained feminist, but will not grow into the man you could be.

[–]ubrayj02 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That is a much better argument.

[–]Brotagonist_010 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Civilization is a ruse. 10 days without food and water, and civilization goes right out of the window back to tribalism and warfare.

[–]ubrayj02 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The way I grew up, it was a pathology to me. I felt like I was dealing with a disease until I read some of the stuff on TRP and MensRights.

[–]ProductivityMonster1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just another example of insanity: keep doing the same thing and expecting the results to change. You should keep this philosophy in mind for just about everything in your life - if after a sustained and sincere effort something is not giving you the results you want, you need to iterate and try something else.

[–]Hormander92 points93 points94 points 12 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

There's one giant reason why you should stay far, far away from TRP:

If it was going to work for you, it would have worked already.

wut

"The problem is you think you aren't completely helpless when you in fact are completely helpless! Just give up like I have, that's all you can do!"

Hopefully you can marry a wonderful feminist who has your balls in a vice while she dominates the relationship because you should be LUCKY she even let you have sex with her.

[–]fluviant 18 points19 points20 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What's most upsetting is this is their definition of what it means to "respect a woman."

I need to find a good article exposing the idiocy of this notion.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I fund way more upsetting that there are man out there who are ok with this.

[–]aww403 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What's funny is the guy who got the best of comment says towards the end that his wife learned about The Game from reading Jezaboo's blog. That shit's hilarious in and of itself.

[–]PerniciousOne1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

LUCKY she lets you think about sex with her.

[–]sliqwilly12 points13 points14 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hilarious since it already worked for him, got the girl on his lap, which was a big step for the guy.

[–]Ormild4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's a common mantra that is echoed through society to nice guys: the right girl will come along if you just keep doing what you're doing.

Too bad it doesn't work like that.

[–]DinosaursGoPoop1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In a better context to highlight the idiocy of that statement.

Don't go to the gym anymore, if you were going to have a great body you would have it by now.

Not you know, anything that is personally rewarding requires hard work, dedication, and building off of knowledge gained through experience.

[–]sfman756-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think this guy had an inkling of a point, wrong as it was, but lost it. Maybe he was saying that man's first reaction to the necessity to be with a girl is to do things that seem forward like what TRP might advise, but here he is a 23y.o. no-no. However, that's pretty unfounded. So maybe I'm just silly.

[–]CptDefB48 points49 points50 points 12 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

At first I read it and I was little incensed...

The guy says he lurks here, then says we advocate rape and consider women to be stupid people.

THEN, he closes with, "TRP has been boosting my confidence, but I know people don't like it, so tell me how I can do without it."

Imagine his NYE if he didn't read TRP? No girl on lap, at all. He said, for a man with no sexual contact, this is a BIG FUCKING DEAL. But hey, go ahead and throw TRP under the bus.

Dude, if you actually do lurk here, and are reading this... take a look at the comments you received. Do they sound kinda like... you know... THE ADVICE YOU'VE BEEN RECEIVING YOUR WHOLE LIFE LEADING UP TO YOUR PRESENT VIRGINAL STATE??

Go ahead and keep doing what people who can't relate, and don't give a shit, keep telling you to do.

I'm not even mad... I'm disappointed.

You were ready to swallow the pill, and then went and asked a bunch of women and manginas if you should swallow it or not. How many more examples do people have to link on this sub, to show you that reddit is generally full of anti-masculine advice? You would have received better advice from RPW, and they don't even have penises.

Spitters are quitters, my friend.

Swallow or stay lonely.

[–]TRP Vanguardnicethingyoucanthave[S] 16 points17 points18 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

says we advocate rape and consider women to be stupid people.

The rape thing comes for a copypasta from /r/thebluepill. Here's a copy of it. I'm listed on it, and as with most of the other comments, the blue pill take on what I said is bullshit.

The "women are stupid" meme comes from the sidebar article, "oldest teenager in the house"

[–]CptDefB5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

LOL... that was amusing.

So, basically a complete lack of critical thinking.

:/

[–]riskrowe11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women aren't stupid at all; they're expert manipulators, they have a profound sense of when someone is upset, they can read the hidden subtext behind every conversation. Whether they use this power to develop good, productive, supportive relationships, or to trick weak men into being their friend-zoned servants, that's up to the girl.

[–]Shooter-Mcgavinn1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I really enjoyed your post very well written and you refute all his points amazingly. It's fucking sad and hilarious that other guys response got best of. Typical of reddit.

[–]Brotagonist_010 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Those motherfuckers are stupid. It's easy to take one-off comments and use them as propaganda, when they don't understand that we all have a constant moving dialogue that winds its way though all of the threads here.

[–][deleted] 62 points63 points64 points 12 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

It's either that or manipulative douchebags using the game to get laid. Whichever one they feel like using

Don't forget virgin losers that manipulate women into rapey sex.

[–]billnye_theRPguy7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There's several groups that benefit from people rejecting ideologies like RP, either because they directly benefit from BP mentality or they don't want their BP perceptions shattered, so they'll villainize this community.

It's an individualist community, there's no hivemind. They don't get you're supposed to read and make up your damn own mind, not every opinion is agreed upon here.

Coming on TBP: RedPill poster advocates killing women by cutting open their heads!!!!

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Considering the desperation of the TBP legbeards that are up in that topic for purely unbiased reasons, that strawman is in the design phase.

I've especially chuckled as some of them got angry and called cmv OP out for "assaulting women" and being "a fuck", telling him he's homophobe/transphobe ?. They quickly edited so their comment wouldn't be deleted, I should have screencapped. Hilarious stuff.

P.S To really see how much these rabid cunts care that this guys is 23 and a loser, hop over to TBP where they make fun of him for being a virgin (and everyone in that thread defending him).

[–]nothingtoworryabout 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ah, your 2nd paragraph explains why there were so many deleted comments, some from ArchAngelle type users. Hilarious: some feminists are actually starting to realize that they are their own movements' worst enemies thanks to their rabid behavior.

[–]GMotor50 points51 points52 points 12 years ago (25 children) | Copy Link

If they don't like what you have to say you are either:

  • A rapist
  • A rape denier
  • A rape apologist
  • A supporter of rape culture

This is standard operating procedure for feminists (male or female) who rely on shaming tactics to shut down discussion. It's completely intellectually bankrupt, not to mention a disgraceful attempt to ruin the reputation of individuals and groups.

  • Not sure why you're labeling a victim of rape. If you believe women deserve the same rights as men you're a feminist. Imaginary means it's non physical, can be overcome.
  • Identity is also known as ego. Which may be broken down into how you perceive yourself, and how you perceive society to perceive you. When I say character, I mean faith. Not in a religious capacity, but in a humanistic capacity. By building character you strengthen your ego. The only way you can improve your identity is through building character, or chemical means. We're basically agreeing on this. You shouldn't be building character to get a mate or secure resources. That's ridiculous. It's self effacing. You're not learning something for other people you're doing it for you. Because you're a fucking human being. I saw a Ted talk a while back, a man did a study on success, the common factor between all participants whom were successful was none of them did it for the money. *You're leading a question and it's a stupid analogy. You said the point of TRP was to -in the dictionary definition of character and identity- to gain and set a positive identity to your character. It isn't the nature of a man to gain and set positive identity to your character. It's the nature of humanity. It isn't gender fucking biased. We all have the same dopamine-serotonin reward system, unless you're mentally disabled. *You lead by example. Its a solvable problem. In an attempt to find a path to be extraordinary, TRP has grounded you. Instead of transcending, you submit to your crisis. It's sad really.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

TRP does not teach us to seek validation through sex, nor is the real end game getting laid. The end game is personal development and happiness. Health, wealth, and sex are rewards of this.

I would love to see the most attractive woman you've been with.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How does TRP teach us to develop personally and to find happiness?

I've answered this question in a pretty obvious, subtle kind of way.

Jack Kerouac was a spoiled shit who was living off the money his female relatives were supplying him. while the real hippies and flower children lived a truly vagabond lifestyle, ol jackie would pent up in a nice hotel room or summer home before he went off doing something else his rich aunt would pay for. get a real, self made character to look up too and maybe you'll start to understand happiness. start with alexander the great. the kid was revolutionizing the world by the age of 16. then read about attila the hun.

Jack Kerouac. lulz.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Happiness doesn't necessarily mean you need a woman and a committed relation.

Honestly, I think some of the time it's what they've been told TRP is about by someone else, and the rest of the time it's that they've glanced over our forums, read one little bit of something and misinterpreted it, then proceeded to dismiss the entire subreddit. Maybe the subconscious is protecting them because their mind started to realize that becoming the kind of man TRP speaks of takes an enormous amount of effort.

Either that, or there are far more people on reddit that lack any reasoning abilities than I once thought.

[–]cagethepepper 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I agree. You know what else it is? LMR. LMR is a PUA thing, but for some reason they think we are some sort of PUA factory and that LMR is some sort of trick to sex a girl when she doesn't want to so it's rape.

[–]thecajunone1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

It's seriously been like every other week now I see a post and the top comment says we advocate rape and to never, ever come here. I asked one poster to show me one instance of such thing. I was downvoted to oblivion by the hivemind and no one could show me one instance. (Hint: New comers, there isn't any).

There is no argument or debate in these threads when they pop up, never any. There are only insults, strawmans, and for some strange reason....fear. And yet our numbers grow every day. What are we up to now? 30,000 rapists lol. The numbers speak for themselves, people are waking up and realizing that gasp, men and women are different.

[–]vaker0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

and to never, ever come here

psssst.... psssst.... bro.... be quiet. That's us advertising.

Someone should start a parody of TheRedPill where it's all about rape. Call it The Crimson Pill. Every thread will be about rape strategies. "What rope can you recommend during a rape?", "If she says no, it's yes, but what if she says 'maybe'?", etc.

JamesDK's comment got BESTOF'd by reddit. BEST. OF.

A poorly constructed fallacious comment filled with weird rhetoric like, "If it was going to work for you it'd already work for you." and tripe like, "Just be yourself and you'll find love!"

Holy shit. I have learned 2 things about Reddit.

1) These redditors have no fucking clue what logic is and how to argue. It's like they knock over the pieces, shit on the chessboard and call themselves the winner.

2) They are so desperate to bash TRP that they would bestof even the most poorly constructed arguments just to make themselves feel better.

Wow. I thought it was just another random guy. But fucking BESTOF'd?

To see so many people upvote him makes me feel like I'm taking crazy pills. My entire life, nothing I've ever experienced reflected a single thing he claims. The complete opposite actually. I feel like I live in some parallel universe where everything I'm experiencing is the complete polar opposite of what these blue pillers say happen.

[–]McDoogleSnatch 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

When it got "bested", I posted the following reasonable comment:

In defense of TRP, that particular sub is about accepting gender dynamics for how they are, not how they should be. Some people "awake" and then utilize their new perspective to get laid. Some men use to find and/or improve their relationship. Others just walk away from women altogether to get their lives together - not unlike the advice written in this post. r/Seduction seems more like what he's lambasting, which is certainly valid.

It got downvoted into oblivion followed by a few snarky and dismissive responses.

/r/thebluepill post BS stories on other subs like /r/askreddit and /r/relationships (or make up RP to BP conversion stories on their own sub) to validate their perceptions of TRP. Their stories are pretty easy to spot when they discuss their interpretations of RP theory.

Let's see how quickly this one shows its stripes. The second sentence:

First of all, I don't subscribe to any of /r/theredpill 's more extreme views (women are dumb, rape is okay, etc).

It doesn't get any clearer than that.

EDIT:

At some point, I was sitting on a couch and pulled her into my lap without asking.

Straight out of that kickstarter controversy. No one would ever conceive or advocate that as a first move to get someone interested.

Great response, OP. But it's nothing that hasn't already been explained endlessly to these hopeless folks. They need their bogeyman to fulfill that urge to be self-righteous white knights.

You may be right, but it's even better if it's not a troll because it shows /r/thebluepill for the assholes they really are. /r/thebluepill has linked to the CMV thread. Their headline says basically, "LOL LOOK! TRPers ARE VIRGINS!!!"

[–]ekjohnson914 points15 points16 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I don't know how to say this without sounding like an outside observer, so as an active member of this sub I'm going to take the position of an outside observer in this post to try to clarify why this vitriolic reaction seems to appear whenever TRP is discssused outside of /r/TheRedPill and its sister subs. For the purposes of this post lets disregard all overtly feminist/jezebel type criticisms because anyone subbed here knows that discussing them is an absolute waste of time.

The reason that TRP attracts the vitriolic outbursts from the average reddit user is because it has a branding issue. I use the word issue loosely here because I dont really view it as a problem but I'm on my 3rd glass of leftover champagne so you'll have to bear with me. In this sub we use VERY strong language. Bitch, slut, etc. There's a good reason for this, a ton of our newer and less experienced members need a fucking wake-up call that being treated a certain way is unacceptable and the only way to get this message across is to use this language, but to someone who is not actively seeking out TRP, it comes across as inflammatory, exaggerated, and emotional. Its easy to see a post like This and disregard it whilst patting yourself on the back for "being a decent human being". Nobody wants to think this way. Everybody wants to matter, be cared about and be loved, but the truth is that 99.99%+ of the people you meet in your life will never give a shit about you. That's a scary figure, its a big fucking number and its something that people who are already struggling with perceived problems in their lives (work, relationships, fitness, etc) will have trouble coming to terms with. Most people's friendships (at least in the USA) are superficial and lonely to a degree. Sure you can surround yourself with "friends" but how many of them would you have in your fox hole? That's what TRP mainly asks. What kind of man do you have to be to have a chick foxhole you, and what kind of chick do you want to foxhole with. That's fucking it.

People don't want to face this truth so they look at the terms we use and the examples we cite and label them as extreme and inflammatory. TRP and TRP ideas could be universally accepted and even admired if you just changed the terms around to make them softer and more palatable to the average idiot. While doing so COULD have potential positive consequences I doubt it would hold true, softening the ideas just moves them away from the core theory and the underlying reason as to why they WORK, so it can't be done for efficiency and effectiveness's sake. But I will give some examples for shits and giggles. If I was in charge of re-branding TRP to make the ideas palatable to the average idiot, here are is a free change:

Oneitis: It's important not to get involved in one sided relationships, make sure that you don't invest in someone emotionally until you are certain they will invest in you in return. Unrequited love is fine when you're 13, adults in healthy relationships know when to give up and move on.

It's branding, branding, branding. That fucking simple, but it should never be done because it detracts too much from what makes the material here effective. Now can we PLEASE stop lurking /r/changemyview and trying to argue with retards. Has the subscription counter ever gone DOWN!?!? Not since I've been here.

[–]1PaulRivers104 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I'm torn between feeling like you're bordering on concern trolling vs agreeing with some of what you're saying.

I personally joined TRP because I saw it being bashed by feminists. Not kidding. After a couple of times, I thought "They're so full of crap on everything else, I should really check The Red Pill out".

I've seen posts here that make me cringe, but...I don't think that one is one of them.

Depicting reality is core to TRP. And while I personally don't agree with most evolutionary biology, his core point for modern times that women get over a relationship breakup more easily than men is exactly the kind of thing that should be on TRP.

[–]ekjohnson92 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I have a moderate history here, I am not concern trolling. I don't think TRP should change, but IF it wanted to change in a way that would alleviate these posts, that would be how I would do it.

Basically at best it would be a realistic version of /r/relationships. At worst it would dilute the ideas and soften the content, which defeats the purpose of the sub. Is that more clear?

[–]1PaulRivers100 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, I know where you are coming from. I would also love to see an actually useful version of relationship advice that isn't straight up stupid like feminist advice for men is, but isn't as caustic as TRP.

But I take a bit of an issue with your description of "stop lurking /r/changemyview and trying to argue with retards" - I was one of those "retards" at one point myself. I think it's very useful to point out how full of crap a lot of the "relationship" advice is, and get mad at women who are being jackasses - so you can cut yourself out of their manipulative cycle and MOVE ON.

But as long as the "advice" from the other side is so completely retarded, while wrapped up in a veneer of caring and compassion, I don't think any less strong language is effective. I think you're forced to use strong language to get the point across - I know I didn't make a change until I was able to use it internally myself to realize how badly I was getting screwed over by this so-called "dating advice" I was reading.

There's no need to not call people bitches or jackasses - when they're being bitches or jackasses. Do some people take this to far? Yes. But I find stuff like this incredibly unhelpful - "Oneitis: It's important not to get involved in one sided relationships, make sure that you don't invest in someone emotionally until you are certain they will invest in you in return. Unrequited love is fine when you're 13, adults in healthy relationships know when to give up and move on."

When the other side are such fanatics, adopting nicer, more understanding language doesn't help at all.

[–]Duderson1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You don't "agree with" most evolutionary biology or evolutionary psychology? The former would indicate that you are scientifically illiterate, the latter is more understandable because (especially in its earlier days) there have been many very bad evolutionary psychologists.

Note: I am not responding to anything in your comment other that "And while I don't agree with most of evolutionary biology...."

[–]1PaulRivers100 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I mean I don't believe in a lot of the evolutionary biology theories that I read online, or on the news.

I really don't know anything about, or have any strong opinion, on the actual field of evolutionary biology.

One of the easiest examples is the claim that evolutionarily, men are predisposed to cheat more then women, because a man can impregnate multiple women at the same time, etc etc etc.

This was repeated ad-neuseum - it's biological! Women are biologically tuned to want relationships and families, and men are biologically disposed to desire to cheat! Over - and over - and over again.

Thing is, that's not real popular any more. Because once we gave women the same access to men to cheat with as men had (women have jobs, they don't primarily stay in the house or only interact with other women), then we removed social stigma from women having sex with a number of different people - well, if anything, it turns out women are more likely to cheat than men (probably because they have more opportunity, as men are still expected to pursue them).

Another one is that men are "biologically" tuned to be attracted to the visual, and women are not. Well - what happened with women who were raised by a feminist parent and all their life identified as feminist - in other words, they strove to fill the male role? They're going go-go over Ryan Goslings abs. They brag about sleeping with men who are younger than them. Etc - basically, they end up acting a lot like guys.

I find that most pop-culture "it's biological!" references turn out later to be bunk, so I don't really believe in any of the evolutionary biology claims present in pop culture.

[–]Duderson0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You seem, to be confusing bad "pop" evolutionary psychology with evolutionary biology. Very different things.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

There have actually been instances of what you're describing. Most TRP bashers always attack everything but the idea itself - it's either the author, the context, the tone, other things from TRP. It's so desperately fallacious it's never worth arguing since none of them are open to it, they're flinging shit from the monkey cage, the only argument they want is the one where you justify not being whatever name they called you. It's arguing against propaganda - pointless.

There was a troll from here a while ago, dropped TRP knowledge around other subreddtis - always expressed in a toned down manner, non-threatning terms, worded to sound extra-positive, careful to not "set any triggers" and reddit ate that shit up.

It seems that anything non-PC, that paints anyone in a negative way is instantly dismissed on subjective reasons alone, and not worth of any credibility. Validity is granted as long as feelings are not hurt. It's got to the point where people that point it out are burried with downvotes and shaming attempts.

Good job. I found this paragraph of his particularly stunning.

First, I don't think that you're really looking for what TRP is offering. At their heart, TRP and the 'seduction' community are about one thing: getting laid. You're a 23-year-old virgin, which means that you made it through high school and (probably) college, the horniest times in peoples' lives, without having sex. I don't think that casual, meaningless sex is what you're looking for.

The thing is: TRP will not help you get a girlfriend, and I think that what you really want is a girlfriend. If all you wanted was a casual fuck, there was girl in your group of friends who you just knew was into you. Maybe she wasn't quite pretty enough, maybe she was kind of irritating or kind of dumb. Who cares? She was ''DTF'' and you knew it and you turned it down.

Even if we give him that TRP can't help get a girlfriend (which I can personally attest to be false), the idea that a 23 year old virgin wouldn't want casual sex is absurd.

I bet this guy is somebody who was naturally attractive from the start, lost his virginity at the age of 16, and had sex with dozens of girls through high school and college before getting tired of it and deciding he wanted a relationship. Since he has had sex so easily, he doesn't see what the big deal is.

Of course, to somebody like OP, or even myself (I didn't even kiss a girl until 21), it's like a rich person telling a poor person that money isn't that important. Sure, if you can have sex basically whenever you want, maybe you'd prefer to be in a passionate relationship than to emotionlessly fuck another girl who's name you don't even know. But to a guy who struggles to get laid, just being able to have sex at all with a moderately attractive women is amazing.

Lol, at some point you'll probably realize what I did - that feminist-style responses are complete gaslighting and negging the guys desire to have a relationship or have sex.

What the commenter is doing her it telling him that he shouldn't want casual sex, and that it would be shameful for him to want it.

It sounds like it's a women writing there. Because - what she writes -

You're a 23-year-old virgin, which means that you made it through high school and (probably) college, the horniest times in peoples' lives, without having sex. I don't think that casual, meaningless sex is what you're looking for.

Is actually TRUE for an (attractive) woman. If you meet an attractive woman who's gone through high school and college and never had sex - she probably just doesn't like sex.

[–]through_a_ways0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is a really great point. I didn't think of that on the first read-through. "If you didn't do X, you didn't want X" can only come from someone with ample access to X, and even the most naturally gifted guys know what dry spells are.

[–]1PaulRivers100 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ha! Yeah, you've described it even better. I was thinking of the specifics, but your generalization is even better.

[–]ajswdf6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think it is judging by the name, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if it's a girl, since they also have a problem understanding what it's like to not be able to get laid.

IMO TRP needs to quit going into the general redditsphere (BP land) and trying to "spread the gospel". We aren't missionaries and nothing is gained by arguing with wannabe Dr. Phils about why you shouldn't supplicate to women.

People are ALWAYS going to be coming up with creative, imaginative ways of discounting TRP theory. (TRP only works on low quality girls, bro). These people arguing against TRP will always be "better" at coming up with bullshit rationalizations of why TRP doesn't fit their subjective experience than you will be at making a case FOR trp. You will always lose when arguing a BPer, because the fact that you are trying to justify yourself and try to get others on your side by logical arguments means that you are playing their game.

I see all these posts downvoted to -10 arguing on the side of TRP... but what's the point? Other men knowing RP ideas does not benefit you in any way. Making more people away of TRP by creating subreddit drama everywhere we go does not help YOU. Let the haters hate. Leaping to defend TRP every time its mocked just shows that you are a internet jockey, and not really living the RP life.

The fact that 99% of people are going to look at TRP, glance over, maybe just believe what someone else has said, and snarkily bitch about us... is good. It seperates the wheat from the chaff - the people with functioning, intellectual brains will come in here, read the full theory, and at least give it a full evaluation based on their own thoughts. This way the people who want to join the community and discuss have already been selected for their capacity to self-evaluate information. The majority of people, those who cannot understand RP, will kindly remain in the dark about RP.

TLDR: This isn't men's rights. Quit going on feminist leaning, BP areas of reddit and arguing about the same old tired subjects - it only funnels more morons and trolls into the RP subreddit.

[–]desylid13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I didn't know about TRP subreddit until 1.5 years into being a heavy reddit user. I swallowed the red pill long before that. Someone posted something about the TRP in a different forum and directed me over here. I didn't realize there was a name for it. There is no way to know how many (relatively) silent lurkers like me are impacted positively by TRP comments in other subreddits.

[–]randarrow5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I found this place three months ago because another poster made an off handed joke about TRP. I was curious and red the sub-reddit. No reason to be a rhetorical asshole, or troll, or feed the trolls. But, comments here and there about sub-reddits like this one are good adversiting.

The comment which brought me here was a joking response to a whiney response to the effect of: Go to /r/TheRedPill and see what they say.

I've been here ever since.

[–]AveofSpades6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Right on.

I've lurked this sub for about a week now. At the end of the day, there are 2 types of men in this world: those who get laid and those who don't.

Most people hate to have their preconceived notions challenged; they embrace the comfort of their surroundings and dispositions that they grew up with. Anything foreign, abstract, or challenging that viewpoint automatically gets denigrated as some sort of "evil," "wrong," or foolish supposition.

Having been fortunate to travel the world, you'll notice that a large portion of humans rarely ever take the opportunity to see the world, reluctant to travel even a few hours to witness something new. No, rather, then test their comfort, they're contently toil away in their day-to-day existence, embracing their habits without even wondering what exists beyond that sphere. Mentally, these people refuse to even consider an alternative viewpoint, perhaps because they're afraid that mirror will demonstrate their futility for so long.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's a false flag post. They do it a lot.

To take a page out of the feminist mentally; if it saves just one person it's worth it (it really only cost time not someone's rights)

He's stupid. Ask a feminist to attack her own gender on certain issues & he'll see they'll turn on him right then & there.

[–]Alternatequestions0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

As someone who believes in equal rights for all human beings AKA FEMINISM, divorce laws violate everything American ideals stand for. I believe if there's a draft women should be drafted. If a woman decks a man in the face, he should deck her back in the face. If a woman want's a fucking abortion she can get one. That women shouldn't get any privileges over men on life boats. That women should be punished equally as men when crimes are committed. HEY WAIT BUT GUYS DOESN'T THAT MEAN HES ANTI FEMINIST. NO IT FUCKING DOESN'T, IT MEANS I'M STAR SPANGLED FUCKING AWESOME AND BELIEVE ALL PEOPLE ARE CREATED FUCKING EQUAL. THUS A FUCKING HUMANIST AND A GOD DAMN AMERICAN.

[–]shakaldrogo2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Hahaha I'm not American but I can see where you're coming from. I wouldn't deck a chick but I would sure as hell like to see her in big trouble for it. Unless she's wielding a dangerous weapon & plans to use it on me, then it all goes out the window. Proceed & deck.

[–]shakaldrogo3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Where the fuck do people get that we think rape is okay?!

[–]SSTUPNC9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It is used as a rhetoric tool to get people to stay away from it. If they associate RP with rape it is a good way to get people to distance themselves from it.

I think dudes who are RP are less likely to rape because they're getting their sexual needs met.

The guy most likely to rape is some herby friend-zoned beta.

[–]SSTUPNC2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Statistically speaking the large majority of rapist are males the woman has a casual relationship and is acquainted (friend-zoned) with.

If we follow these findings to their logical conclusion it is easy to see who is performing most of the rapes.

It can be argued in the current state of affairs that the place a woman is most likely to get raped is on a college campus.

Yeahh... And I want to marry women who have been through "casual and meaningless sex."

Seriously, who do these guys think they are? On what authority are they being so principled? If they were religious I'd buy it. But many people on reddit are athiests, and for an athiest to uphold one-sided morality like that, its just appalling to me.

I might have said it wrongly. But do forgive me.

I was watching the film Rush. Great film. I learned something from it.

Women only exist to get a reaction out of you. They want to know that they can make you squirm, or feel, or move in any way possible. And that, there, is victory for a woman. For a man, victory means actually overcoming something. Women desire to move men. Men live for the purpose of moving mountains.

And there's a scene with Olivia Wilde and Chris Hemsworth, where Chris' character is supposed to get Olivia back. He mentions that the guy Suzy [Olivia] is with right now is also a playboy like James [Chris]. Only he's richer.

Suzy says, "It doesn't matter to me what he's like. What matters is how it feels. And it feels like he adores me."

BOOM! White knighting done. Fuck your one-way guilt trip blue pill morality.

This is why I believe polygamy works [for men to have more than 1 woman]. Women only need to adoration of 1 man while, men go get multiple partners. Sure women can get multiple partners, but no man wants her. I.e. No man will "adore her."

So, in a woman's words, the way of a woman is to submit to the man.

White knighting is just denying women their natural happiness. Preferring equality to woman the same equality you would to men is sexist. Sure economical rights are all good. But there are enormous differences between what makes a man happy, and what makes a woman happy. So, in the end, white knighting is sexist if not more misogynistic than anything else.

This is from another discussion, but it still holds:

Most Redditors, (even the ones here) are part of the silent majority of people meet mates though their social circle. Provided they're not too boring or nice, and are at least okay socially. Most shit just works for people because of this. So of course you're going to see a lot of detractors on this site dumbfounded on why people would need game/RP. They can't fathom that for one reason or another shit doesn't 'just happen' for everyone.

If shit is 'just happening' for a lot of people, why bother with 'misogynistic' red pill shit? /s That's your average blue piller, and redditor. A good amount of people are doing fine either from chance or circumstance. Don't let the minority of incel redditors complaining fool you. Check the front page of AskReddit to see that half its front page are topics relating to interesting sex stories.

But for some people here (myself included, things didn't 'just happen') Because of my severe BP upbringing, things came very hard for me, and I've had to work for every inch I've gotten. (i.e learning game, TRP, ect...) Although I've gotten praise for my looks and style and had opportunities in the past, for a host of reasons, I wasn't able capitalize on them.

Everyone loves watching a train wreck or car accident, as long as they're not involved.

With a few exceptions that post their cringeworthy pseudobiologic , I think the point of places like TRP and MRA is that women aren't dainty little creatures that have to be babied and that we have to enslave ourselves to and for. If things that are posted here were put in a Cosmo magazine, they'd eat it up. At its core, TRP is about knowing who you are and not settling for less than you want. White knights can't understand that, feminazis don't want that, but we actually treat women like equals, not like superiors.

[–]KJL130 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I wanted to respond due to all the bullshit being espoused over there.

People still think game is still canned openers from 2004 like it has been frozen in time. Shit has evolved massively since then people have no idea.

Unfortunately CMV has a tendency to ban people who are subbed to TRP so I can't post comments over there.

CMV has a lot of censorship if it is not BP you will get banned.

Good job putting it in perspective. Hopefully the guy will stick to his guns and not be shamed by exaggerated caricatures of RP philosophy.
