There was a post on the ask men subreddit literally few days back where the question was if they thought of their female friends sexually. It's got loads of replies and, surprisingly (/s), majority said yes, and said they think about it almost daily. Some even said they would go the extra step with alcohol courage. I had to scroll down too deep to see barely few 4-5 comments saying no they think of them as family.

But the prime statement they use to shut their girlfriends up whenever they're uncomfortable with these friendships is that they don't even think of these girls sexually and that they're like their sisters? 💀 Just lying 24x7

This is a classic example of why women should always be wary of so-called male friends. This is gross on so many levels. I used to be the typical pickme "cool chick" that hung out with tons of guy friends, though in reality they were just orbiters who fed my need for external validation. These were supposed platonic friendships but I went through a promiscuous phase and at various points hooked up with more of them than I care to admit. Each and every single one of my male friends were eager to hop in the bed with me if I had a lapse in judgment and allowed them to. The ones I didn't have sex with very clearly were hoping I would someday. I even got sexual with several of my "gay" male friends LMAO. If the opportunity falls in their lap most single men are happy to put the friendship aside to get their rocks off, and if they are in a relationship it's a red flag to me if they still want to spend solo time with a female friend.

In a purely professional context yes. But you can't be close friends with them after a certain point. I'm a woman engineer, probably 90 percent of my coworkers are men. There are fellow engineers who are men who I may catch up with over coffee or at a professional conference. But I don't invite them over alone or tell them emotional things.
