I actually prefer it.

As far as I’m concerned, no answer is an answer. If I reach out to someone about the possibility of another date and I get radio silence, that’s all I need to know.

There’s no weird grey area, no room for misinterpretations, or any awkward conversations, and I know exactly where me and that person stand.

I’d say it definitely beats the alternative; getting some patronizing text that starts along the lines of “well you’re an amazing guy but…”

I’m obviously not. If I was, they’d be clamoring for another date with me. So not only are they rejecting me, they’re lying to me as well in an attempt to “save my feelings”. Lame. Ghosting helps to sidestep all of that.

Of course, if you’re in an actual committed relationship then ghosting is super problematic. But if you’ve just been on a couple of dates with a person then what’s the deal? They’re doing you a favor by removing themselves from your life sans drama or some hokey excuse.
