I recently read a book by David Goggins: at 24, he was a 300lb cockroach exterminator living a dead end life. Long story short, he woke up one day and decided to change everything.

How?

By doing the work.

Today, he’s a retired Navy Seal, ultra-runner, and motivational speaker.

He didn’t like what he was getting out of life, so he made a change. It wasn’t easy, but the solution was simple: stop making excuses, and do the work.

Now, men don’t have to become marathon runners to get what they want out of dating, but they do have to do the work.

The issues today are the same they’ve been for 100,000 years: lots of competition for the best potential mates.

I have long argued that it’s easier to be above average in 2022 than at any other time. Access to information is unlimited, so if you want to become a fitness guru, a firefighter, a boxer, a mountain climber, whatever; there are people out there that want to show you how.

Incidentally, having a fitness based and interesting hobby that keeps you trim will put you in the top 50% of men by default.

Learning the basics of modern style, how to dress, grooming, and conversation skills will put you in the top 30% of men. No special talents required for any of this stuff, you just have to do the work.

The problem? Most men would rather bitch and moan about online dating, feminism, blah blah blah.

But I’ll tell you what:

You show me a man who wakes up at 5am to hit the gym, that volunteers in his community, that has at least 1 interesting hobby, that wears clothes that fit, and that understands how to lead a conversation? And I’ll show you a man that isn’t having any problems getting a date.
