Book clubs? Take a cooking class. Take an art history class. Any national parks/forests/monuments around you?

This sounds like a self-fulfilling prophecy, and a limiting belief: you are assuming that none of these girls are smart, so you're letting everything you see confirm that and not making an effort to actually meet a smart girl or get to know a girl well enough for her to show that side. Most girls are smarter than they let on - they think being smart is an unattractive quality or that it will scare off most guys.

You have to make them feel comfortable with showing you that side of themselves. When they ask you about your hobbies/interests, tell them you like to read. If she does as well, a conversation about books can easily be bridged to "smart" topics.

That said, I'd say bookstores and coffee houses are great places to meet smart girls. (edit: You're near a university? Universities are crawling with smart girls; just walk around campus or go to the campus spots where people wait around between classes.)

One last thing: you may not even see a girl's smart side until you've met up with her a few times - or even had sex with her - so why not sleep with a few hotties while on the hunt? You never know who will turn out to be the closet nerd.

Some of the coolest, smartest, and most deliciously sarcastic girls I've known, - I met through an improv troupe I was a part of in college, at a fairly big university.

I highly recommend this in general, actually - practicing status games in an improv setting, on stage, sometimes in front of a 500+ audience - really honed my game quite a bit. Really gives you a good idea of naturally occurring humor, pacing, and the constant need for some unresolved conflict to exist in a scene to make it interesting. For me at least, this translates to - tease the hell out of her, especially for silly mistakes, heh.

Teaching a beginner troupe the skill of improv also gives you a good sense of crowd control, and allows you to practice keeping a group interested. I really can't speak more highly of the experience as a whole, and the skills I've learned through it have been invaluable.

student organizations. go to their events often if you don't want to join the club.

go for the ones from the specific departments (ex: biology society, entrepreneurial student association, etc) or ones with a definite cause/"theme" like a community garden club, political groups, etc.

you'll find women who dedicate their time to something other than the beach and have enough drive to join and remain active in a student org.

From the conversations I've had with other people, any girl who goes to school and also does other hobbies trends towards being smart. In other words, do the things you love and meet people while you do it.

I think most of these posts have already given you some good ideas. I also want to say, I don't think you've met enough girls to be making the claims you made in your post. I bet you'll find a whole range of girls at the beach. I always tell people it's a limiting belief to assume you can't find certain girls in certain places (even if the "lazy/daddy's girl" types are the norm, there will always be exceptions- I can also guarantee, a lot of those girls will be interesting).

The best places are coffee shops, stores that cater to those types, bookstores, libraries, probably the beach, THE COLLEGE ITSELF (I'd assume you don't go there? You know you can just walk around the college and meet people that way?), and places like that. It's fairly self-explanatory: nerdier girls hang out at nerdier places, so go to those places. If you can't find places like that, stick with the places where you'll at least see a lot of diversity, like the college or the beach. I have a feeling this is purely a limiting belief though, so get rid of it and go meet some girls.

I've stumbled upon some amazing, amazing people on that group. People smart enough to see the problems in our society, and committed enough to fight them.

from a girl: coffee shops, libraries/bookstores, the gym, electronics stores, etc... same places you'll meet less intelligent girls mainly. a conversation is required to tell if she's intelligent or not. if you're in college, take a stimulating class and see which girls are in it with you. maybe french? international security? calculus? anything.

alot of the smart girls are on college campus. If the ones you are running into, I would suggest changing your prowling grounds. School grounds are not off limits to you.

i suggest art house theators, meetup.com, volunteer opportunities, etc. one thing i have noticed is a lot of smart women will "dumb" themselves down for their environment. that girl might be smart but she is acting dumb so she is socially accepted. look in your local free newspaper (San Diego Reader, LA Weekly) and start going to lectures and art shows and that type of stuff. you will find them.

But yeah, there's no sure fire way to filter for intelligent women. But I too live in a college town with a beach and I have no game when it comes to typical stupid vapid women. Basically, I just try to be sarcastic and they aren't getting my jokes, I tell myself it's because they aren't bright enough.

The most awesome thing though is when I meet a girl that has passion for some topic - whatever that is. I mean, something other than TV and pop culture.

haven't read all the replies yet, so i'm not sure if this has already been stated . . but have you ever heard the guideline: *attractive *intelligent *sane pick two.

the idea being that it is so rare to find somebody who is all three that they may as well not exist. this has fit my experience. i'm really picky about personality/intellect and appearance, so i've mostly dated crazy girls. the trick is to find an insanity that you can live with.

as for a direct answer to your question - i dunno, maybe become a psychologist? or look for girls who major in psychology?

I have this problem as well. Fortunately I'm still at University so I get to meet lots of smart girls every day but before Uni it was mainly girls that just want to get drunk and have dropped out of school (not that unusual in Australia as they go to do trades).

Obviously I'm quite young so unfortunately most of the advice like going to museums and classy bars isn't the most suitable advice.

But I highly recommend doing things you like e.g., rockclimbing. The girls which go out and have hobbies are the more intelligent ones.

It's good advice for older people too because you'll always have a common interest.

Use this as part of your qualification. Some smart hot girls will actually fake being dumb because it's expected of them. If you show you have standards and qualify them you'll be surprised how some will step up their game when they realize you're not just after some HOPA.

As for daygame locations:

Book stores
Whole foods/grocery stores (not my favorite, but it's doable)
Target (yes, target)
Coffee shops
Mall
On the street. This is my favorite since you can instant-date right then and there and it's completely low-investment.

My general advice for day-game is to pick a busy area and just talk to women walking by using direct openers, or alternatively use functional openers if you are really good at transitioning quickly. I prefer straight up direct or the old standby "excuse me, do you know where xyz is at? Cool thanks, actually I just wanted to meet you. :strong eye contact & big smile: I'm ____, and you are?"

Use a dating site and search for "nerd" and "geek". If a girl self identifies as one of those she will at least value her intelligence. Other good ones are "math", "science", and "engineer". I've had very good luck with this.
