Mine is... and now that I've found a funny partner, I could never be with a non-funny one again. We laugh....so....so much. We absolutely crack each other up...I thought I was gonna die the other night cuz I couldn't breathe.

1) both of us have a personal philosophy. Every day I put forth the effort to put her wants and needs first. And every day she puts forth the effort to put my wants and needs first. And so everyday we are constantly trying to do things for the other person instead of putting ourselves first. And that has ended up making the family come first: not “diving out resources and chores”

2) I love my wife’s humor and us being able to laugh together is part of the joys of life

3) I don’t know if this counts but in HS there was a girl who was not my type but she had the goofiest laugh and would make this funny face trying to hide it. And it drove me wild, so all I’d ever try to do was joke with her and get her to laugh.

Yes, if she ain’t funny she ain’t for me. A good sense of humor is a must for me and a deal breaker in a way cause I don’t think I’d go as far as wanting to even sleep with you if we aren’t connecting - and to me humor is a big form of connecting

As for myself? Probably somewhere in between. I tend to not think about this stuff and let the dynamic flow as it goes

Like being a comedian? No, not really. Having some self-awareness, not taking things too seriously and being able to banter is pretty important though. I wouldn't date someone who is super serious 24/7, it's just too exhausting.

Honestly, the women I've fallen in love with, I've been able just find the funny in them. It's likely some weird bias in my brain where my love is rose tinting everything, but it's also been the case for multiple years into a relationship.

I've always had to go 50/50, or be the one just making a lot less than my partners. I've never really had much money to spare.

It's hard to answer the last one. I did find them funny. More funny as time went on, but I also fell more and more in love with them as we interacted more and more, in turn, rose tinting how I saw them.

My wife doesn't work at the moment bc she lost her job a month ago so I am the sole provider. But when she did work it was like a 80/20 split on bills because I made a significant amount more than her.
She is very funny but only when she's not trying to be. Like the only times I'm busting out laughing is when she says or does something without the intent to be funny but it's funny anyway.
Assuming the bare minimum attractiveness is there, personality in general is a huge deciding factor. Which does include having a sense of humor because I can't see myself with someone who is dull.

Being fun and not taking herself too seriously is very important. Being funny in the sense of having a good sense of humor and having great comedic timing is a plus, but not as essencial.

My gf is both of these. I would say she's in the top 5% of funniest women.

I pay for more stuff because I make substantially more. She does most of the household chores, though. Probably about an 80/20 split on both finances and housework.

The issue is that humor comes in many forms. It is far from safe for men, too. Stand Up comedian levels of humor can seems unmanly or low status. Self-deprecating humor is especially dangerous for men and they have to be very careful.

I personally love all forms of humor in women, partly because I like to laugh a lot. But mostly because I am extremely attracted to intelligence in women, even on a sexual level. But I won't pretend I am typical at all in this way. I'm not typical in almost any way.

I'm personally good with almost any gender roles in a relationship so long as I am confident they are not slowly eroding her attraction to me. I believe in 50/50 effort overall in most marriages, with the exceptions being when one partner is some high achieving, high wealth, workaholic. But again, I'm not typical.

I want a woman who is intelligent, which often manifests itself with wittiness and a good sense of humor. Someone who is always cracking jokes like they're practicing a comedy routine with me grates on me eventually, man or woman. I like to be playful and goofy often, but as an exchange. The best is to be able to have a clever, humorous repartee with a woman at any time and sometimes get silly.

I like a capable, professional woman so we have more in common. I don't care if a woman contributes 5 or 50 percent because I make enough money that I can easily pay for an upscale lifestyle for two people so it's more that I want to respect her.
I've only been in serious relationships with women who I thought were funny. I haven't thought about it much but having a good sense of humor is probably a must.
I feel like if a woman meets my looks bar it doesn't matter if she is at the minimum or much better looking than that. It's just a yes/no decision. I'm just looking at other factors at that point. I don't think humor would turn a no into a yes. I'd just view her as a cooler person but probably not a romantic option. I think women make a similar decision with the yes/no on whether a man meets their looks bar but maybe that's opening a can of worms.

Honestly no. Like, is she funny in a way a comedian cracking jokes would make me laugh? No.

But when I think about it, it's the fact that I love her which makes her more humorous and endearing to me when she does stupid little funny and awkward things or says unexpected or crazy things that make me laugh. I suppose I think she is funny in those situations only because it's her. When random girls act as quirky I genuinely don't care and they don't amuse me. I guess girls become funny when we care about them. Otherwise it comes off as normal and random.

My advice to ladies is this, if a guy doesn't show amusement, but just politely smiles, when you do awkward or funny things around him which are hilarious to everyone else, then there is a pretty good chance he is not interested in you in that way. It can also be an indication that he has a lot on his plate and cannot spare to give you any focused attention, so read the room and his environment before trying to interpret anything. Stress, pressure, and preoccupation kinda kills our ability to laugh.

I have had crushes on girls who weren't pretty but not because they were funny but because I felt they were very feminine, calm, and endearing. I have always been super attracted to women who are feminine more than just physically hot. Women that make me feel needed are the ones I feel like I can be the most loyal to. My girlfriend is kinda bossy but only at her job and that leaves her very drained at the end of the day because her natural baseline is passive and quiet so when she comes homes she prefers that I take charge and she enjoys that tremendously and I also really feel natural and at place being in charge knowing I have a responsibility towards her that I need take care of - that I need to take care of her.

Ideally my girl is funny. Don't want her to be too serious, as long as she's not outright immature. I want someone who can laugh in tense situations and doesn't take herself too seriously enough that she can't joke around. Those things tend to communicate someone is self assured and self aware. She doesn't need to be a comedian but she should be able to take a joke and dish them out herself.

I prefer not going 50/50, if it can be helped I'd prefer a traditional gender roled relationship. I've fallen for a few girls because of their personality, funniness included.

I don’t think the vast majority of men need to find their partner funny as a bar for them to partner, not just in favor of looks either but just as a trait not required even for emotional attraction. I feel like I have a strong sense of humor, and I want a woman who both gets my jokes and can also make me laugh. I met and have dated women who have, in my perspective, kind of a lame/cheesy sense of humor and I don't enjoy it. I'd much rather a woman with sharp wit who can banter with me.

I take a more egalitarian approach to relationships. I'm not a provider, and expect a woman to treat me as much as I treat her (financially I can expect some discrepancy, it's more about effort).

Women are funny and still be feminine, quite a lot really, they just are not usually funny because they usually suck at delivering jokes, making planks or be funny willingly.

Being uncoordinated, cute, silly or naive is still funny. Like a toddler who asks "can I sit?" and sounds like "can I shit?" or how a woman may asks "am I cute?" and twirl in a dress but stumble and fall. This is feminine funny.

I had plenty of women winning me over by being feminine funny. It is part of relationships, if you do not find their silly antics funny, you will find it hard to keep a relationship going.
