I expected him to actually delve into serious criticism of the Left's handling of men based on the title, so this video was pretty much a waste of time.

A bit of a side tangent, but I do find it funny how practically every "dating advice" post conveniently overlooks, excuses, or, at best, passingly acknowledges how utterly unbalanced the dating market is. They all do the same thing in placing all the blame and responsibility onto men to "do better" to be romantically successful.

It's pretty worrying how people have become so adverse to the concept of criticizing women in any capacity that it's seen as perfectly acceptable for women to have THIS much power in the dating market. It's at the point where the average man feels he has close to zero chance with the average woman and is better off not trying at all.

My identical behavioral standards were simultaneously low for men and delusionally high for women. Women have violated my consent much more. Women have hit me way more. I watched it, the video basically points out the lefts ceeding of mens dating discussion to the right and tries to provide a counter narrative/material. Its okay, its still a bit ''men must do better" but less so than you usually expect from such left wing content. The way I see it, the more the broader left actually try to engage with men and not just dismiss them, such as videos like this, the more likely it is that left wing misandry will be recognised and, good god please, be addressed.

Where did Andrew Tate come from? He came from the rise of a new wave of Red Pill content that came from the increasingly unchallenged popularity of Pink Pill content. The whole thing is based around a reaction to that Pink Pill mentality, the combination of feminist theory and an insane amount of entitlement and a desire for a more strict Male Gender Role.

The left didn't "ignore" young men. It caused a toxic shame epidemic. It told young men that they were bad for who they were, that because they were men they had bad intentions. But I don't think that caused the rise of that wave of Red Pill content.

I don't think it's fair to say that people have been ignoring young men. I think there isn't any large left winged male role model focused on young men like there is on the right. There are obviously male left winged content creators, but we need people who can speak to adolescent worries first and foremost. It's too bad because I think there's a lot of room for being manly. It's manly to protect people, especially vulnerable people in society. We could also give good dating advice, better than the right. Women tend to like the fact that we see them as people and potential life partners. I know personally I'm probably a 6-7 looks wise but I've only been single when I wanted to be. We really do have a lot to offer. I'm not sure why no one exists to fill this gap.

I would expect someone to make a response video criticizing him. Making concrete dating advice strikes me as social suicide on the mainstream online left, no matter how well-intentioned it is.

I actually do like that he tries to give out concrete advice, and I legitimately think that what he outlines, while far from perfect, would be a pretty decent starting point for a 19-year old virgin who never received any guidance in regards to dating.

I completely disagree with your assessment of the video.

I don't think all the advice is good but I really like the tone and format. The advice is prescriptive, concrete, and practical. For the most part Adam is not talking about what's wrong, why it is wrong, or who is to blame. He is giving specific steps to achieve a goal that a lot of young men have but struggle to achieve. I love that even if I don't 100% agree with everything he says.

Also, the video is not left wing. Adam is left-wing but this video is orthogonal to left-right politics In the same way that woodworking videos are orthogonal to left-right politics.

The comments are dogpiling him thinking he's fallen into the "alt-right" when in reality he's making pretty progressive points, true women's rights means men's rights too because a lot of issues in how women are treated come from men's issues. As a woman, I was a bit iffy with some parts of his dating guide, the "it's a numbers game" phrasing, and the 4-5 day wait is a kinda "nah" for me but overall the message is very good and it treats women like people but gives clear instructions to young men who are people too. Young boys can't use vague advice, they want instructions especially neurodivergent boys.

So one of the critiques I have for him is that within that 4-5 day window, you can call but don't ask her out on any date specifically, just ask her to just hangout with you as "friends" (Don't outright say you're friends but make it clear you like her company). Or you can chat on the phone. If she goes "So is this a date?", you very much 90% scored. And the "only have serious conversations in person" is understandable if you come from a place of being ignored when on call, but I wouldn't say 100% necessary. Depending on the person, they either function better, equal or worse without face to face interaction, so it varies.

But this is just my thoughts, I feel young boys especially those who are neurodivergent can use this a lot due to the fact a lot of us (neurodivergents I mean, I'm autistic) can't learn how to be social from experience alone due to our differences with neurotypical society. His doc works enough as a guide that you can loosely follow but reject or accept certain tiny rules like the 4-5 thing once you figure out enough about what you're doing.

I've been saying this for a while, the SJWs made things the way they are today. SJWs started the "gender wars" going on. It's their fault. For clarification, I'm an egalitarianist. I have protested for women's rights and I have friends that are both men and women. I've heard their perspectives and I think it's important. But even offline I have heard so many disgusting things spoken about men and how we're all horrible. But... There's very little misogyny in comparison to misandry (historically misogyny was worse, I'm speaking of the past 15 years). Misandry had a massive head start and it's also socially accepted. There's been pushback lately and that pushback is being met with resistance, but pushback is still there and that's a sign of hope.
