I was googling whether men and women have different standards for cleanliness and as expected, there doesn't seem to be any hard evidence either way.

​This is a bit of an interesting framing, because it kind of brings up the question of what IS a "normal" level ​of tidiness. If men are just judged less (because evil patriarchy, sure) then in an optimal world, would women​ do LESS chores and clean less too? That's something I never seen suggested before in this topic.

At the end of the day, we are just mammals, and before civilisation we probably dug holes and hid there like lemmings or whatever. So again, what IS "normal"? Is it somewhere in-between how men and women are? Is there room for women to loosen up and relax more, would that be part of equalizing this? Is here a valuable male privilege that women need to catch up on? ​Or is it ​purely​ about men having to catch up to women and that's it? And what if there really is a deep-rooted general ​gendered difference of standards​?
