Q4W: Follow-up to the height thread, what do you consider “tall enough”?

This is a Question for Women. All top-level responses by men will be removed.

After the way that the last height thread devolved, the mods will be watching this one closely. A reminder: personal attacks are against the rules. Anybody who insults a user for their height preference, or lack thereof, will be tempbanned. Anybody who turns this into a venue for woe-is-me commenting about how their life sucks because they're not tall enough will be tempbanned. Yeah, my height or taller. I won't reject someone for being an inch or two shorter than me, but it's not ideal. I'm 5'9" so I can go pretty tall without it being an issue. Idk what my upper limit would be, I'm not the greatest at estimating height. There's a guy in my town that literally needs to bend over to walk through doors, I'd prolly consider him too tall.

As a 5’11” woman, more than half of my partners, including my current SO, have been shorter than me. Sex is easier with guys who are taller but it’s not enough of a difference for me to actually care if I like someone enough. We’re all the same height laying down 😎

I’m 5’8”. My husband is 5’4”. He’s got a tight, compact little body like an Italian sports car. More than “tall enough” for me.

I'm 5'3 and the absolute TALLEST I will go is like 5'8, but the closer to my height the better. My perfect range is within three inches of my hight, plus or minus. One of my exes was 5'1 and LOVED it when I wore heels because it put him close to face level with my boobs. 🤣

I mentioned it in the other thread but am inch or two taller than me is fine (so like 5'8-5'9). And honestly if the guy were cute enough and I liked him I wouldn't count him out just for being shorter than me. It's a preference, not a hard requirement.

The "ideal height" of a guy IMO is 58-5'10 though.

I’m 5’2 and pan. When I date I tend to go for people who I can cuddle with comfortably, so usually 2-3 inches taller than me. That said, I’ve developed feelings for people who were my height or a little shorter (men, women, and neither) and height isn’t a factor as much as other things are.

Mostly smell. You could be 4’0 (I can admit to having a massive crush on Tyrion from GoT) and if you smelled good I’d be willing to date you, but you could look like a model and if you smelled nasty I’d avoid you like hell.

Spine compresses throughout the day plus people have builds and postures that make the appear shorter or taller. Why nitpick who cares?

If you are short guy, wear shoes with slight lifts and work on a strong posture and build up your upper body, especially shoulders. That can give you 2 inches or so, which helps. if you care about Online dating everyone already lies about their height anyway, Then focus your energy on developing your swagger and sex God game instead of being a whiny bitch because life ain't fair.

Just don't lie about your age, I hate that bullshit.

ETA - like I said I'm 5'4 and always dated taller guys but I'm most attracted to Northern Euro guys who already trend taller.

It would be hard to even consider more than 2” shorter than me, I prefer 3 to 6 inches taller. I’m 5’7” so attracted to 5’10” to 6’1”

Dated a guy an inch shorter, super attractive guy. He didn’t seem to have any hangups about his height.

I'm 5'10" and gave up on feeling dainty a long time ago. The shortest man I've dated was probably about 5'7". I don't really have a "limit" tho. Height's not something that's a dealbreaker for me.

in my experience most women do not really have hard and fast rules on height, even the ones who say they do.

if I were designing my ideal male specimen he would be 5'8 or taller, but it's negotiable

I’m 5’7.

I prefer taller than me but it’s all relative.

One ex was 5’9 but very slight and felt insecure when I wore heels. He also wasn’t that strong. He weighed a bit more than me but I could lift him (we were working out together once and I attempted) whereas he never our entire relationship ever tried to lift me during sex or otherwise.

One FWB was 5’6. Shortest I’ve dated. But he was stocky and very strong. And would throw my ass all over the place which filled me with delight. He also had a very cute face and nicely groomed beard.

Outside of that most of the men have been taller. My favorite height is 5’10. I don’t like that bean pole skinny look. Clearly I like men who are strong. So 6’4 guys can’t be skinny imo or I don’t like them.

I think the other poster makes a good point. I don’t find short and skinny unattractive. I just don’t feel feminine beside them. I actually enjoy being manhandled and carried and a skinny guy can’t do it. Which is why I have some wiggle room for a bit shorter but strong guys. Think Rosie Huntington Whitley and Jason Statham.

I am 5'7" and almost 6ft in high heels. So yeah. Problem is, LOTS of tall guys are friggin skinny like a starving ethiopian. I find that pretty unattractive. It seems like the more tall a man is, the more likely he will be lanky and looking like a skeleton without clothes on. I am a skinny woman so bone on bone cuddling is not pleasant at all. I know this from experience. I always told my 6ft skinny ex to go to the gym. He'd come up with excuses. His chest was boney.. I see short dudes who are tanked but the top of their head is at my shoulder.

I've dated one inch shorter than me (I'm 5'7) and that's my minimum. It was borderline actually, any time we got up from our seats part of me was like yikes. For me 5'8 is ideal. I don't like super tall guys.

Side note: it's not even so much that I think they're unattractive, but I feel so unattractive next to them. I feel... BIG. And I'm not big, I'm on the taller side but my BMI is 20. I felt un-sexy and I need to feel sexy to become horny if that makes sense.

I guess it's why fat girls seem to be more into taller guys.

my bare minimum is about 5'11". in practice though i don't really have to settle because ive always had access to my "ideal" over my "bare minimum" so all of my ltrs have been taller than that. 🤷🏼‍♀️

i'm 5'6" and always in 4inch heels at least so even when i'm out and about a guy who isn't noticeably taller than me at a bar/club wouldn't even get my attention

I don't really care about height. If I had a preference, I'd say around my height but that's a tricky metric. I don't go out with a measuring tape. Due to my lanky build and heels, I can look like I'm 6' tall despite being only 5'7''. I've recently made it a practice to sit straight and keep my head high and I feel like I look taller than most people who hunch, when seated.

My preference is for men who have a stocky build; strong, thick forearms and calves look great. Typically, they happen to be around 5'5''-5'10'' and so that's my ideal height range, I guess.

My more discriminatory preference is with hair and teeth; I find a guy with thick, dark, well-maintained hair (and no beard) with straight teeth to be very, very attractive.

The above being said, if I found a highly intelligent, ambitious man with similar values, I'd date him even if he were the lovechild of Erik (The Phantom) and Quasimodo because I've yet to meet someone with 2/3 of them.
