When we started having problems, my now ex-husband wanted an open relationship, and in an attempt to save the marriage, I agreed. When he told me about a breakup with another woman, I can't express the pain and revulsion I felt. He expected me to empathize with him and comfort him. He was genuinely confused that I was upset. God, reading this post brought all of that back to me. He treated my reaction like I was punishing him for being "honest". I was disgusted with myself for staying with him but still didn't have the strength to leave. I feel absolutely terrible for this woman. I've since left my husband and we're finalizing our divorce now, but posts like this remind me of how far I've come, and how grateful I am that I woke up and got the fuck out.

To me, polyamory seems like a concept to rationalize greed for people with an inflated ego. People who think they're so awesome they deserve to dissapoint multiple partners simultaneously. And they target people with low self-esteem, who deep down believe they are not "enough" so it's okay for their partner to "supplement" them with additional partners.

A friend of mine nailed it when she said: "Polyamory is not about having more. It's about having less. Less intimacy, less responsibility, less genuine connection."

If you are loyal, find someone who is loyal. Find someone who shares the same common sense as you. Not brainwashing yourself into accepting something that does not align with your personal belief.

Like if you don't know, muslim men are allowed to marry 4 wives. But I think being loyal to ONE person is just the common sense, so I stay far farrrrr away from any men (and women) who thinks 4 wives is the common sense. I matched with a couple looking for a 3rd back when I just on a hump and dump sleeping spree. Dude would complain about how he was in poly relationship with his wife and she went and slept with someone he specially told her not to sleep with and she had no remorse about it.

I only talked to the husband and knew what the wife looked like. He thought of getting a divorce from her but they stuck it through.

He kept asking me out for lunch and send nudes (I did in the beginning but then ignored his requests). I had met a guy who treated me well... we were FWB because he was moving back to his home country in a few months but those weeks with him... I'd NEVER been treated that good with my exes.

Anyway, with that said, after the dude left to go back to his home country- married man asked again for a lunch date (he never knew I had been seeing someone). I just flipped like a switch and said

I don't want to be a side dish to someone who already has an entree.

He got bentout of shape and was like "I meant as friends."

Boy, you did not. Everything up till I called shit out was mostly sexual (other than sending me cat pics and telling about small day to day things). That shit wasn't trying to get a freidnship out of me. And even then he didn't "fight" for the " friendship" he "wanted."

Tl;dr Knew a married guy looking for someone to sleep with outside his wife. I ended up seeing a guy who treated me pretty well so when he left and married guy asked me again about meeting up I told him to fuck off instead of going through with it
