This is purely speculative on my part.

However I do expect that over the coming decades a new sexual revolution will happen. That new revolution will be some new tech with AR and/or VR involving sex robots.

Porn is a very poor substitute for sex. However what if someone figured out a way in which you could have sex in AR/VR? What if you could buy a sex robot, and then with AR or VR goggles you can make the robot appear however you want it to?

At first this kind of tech will be a laughing stock, it will be made fun of and it will probably be bad. However like with all technology it will improve over time. The experience will get better, communities dedicated to sharing sex robot avatars (just like with porn now) will be born, and over time the whole sex robot AR/VR thing will start to become a substitute for people instead of sex.

However I think it will go farther than this. Eventually the sex robot AR / VR experience will be better at making you orgasm than a real human being is (machine learning, constantly optimizing algorithms, etc) which will make people realize that dating/having sex with a real person is more like a luxury than something most people experience.

This new sex robot AR/VR tech will also solve the problem of male sexlessness and male sexual frustration. It may also help women too since a robot will probably do a better job at making her orgasm than most men.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I seriously believe something like this will happen and in the coming decades. It just makes too much sense for it to not happen. The market for sexually frustrates and lonely people is an enormous multi billion dollar market. Someone will figure out how to infuse sex robots with AR/VR and create an entirely new way of experiencing sex that is different from porn or “real” sex.

The interesting thing to wonder is if this will make everyone’s standards completely insane and unrealistic. If everyone had the ability to put on AR/VR goggles and fuck a sex robot that not only looks however you want it to (and can change it, make the avatar have flawless skin, etc) but is even optimized to make you orgasm how will this not make attractive people’s value plummet?

As attractive as a very attractive human is, they can’t compete against a robot that looks perfectly flawless and is optimized to you personally.
