Yup. Hollywood tried to so hard to make us believe younger women would go for someone like Adam Sandler or Seth Rogen. But look at the type of men who actually get the most attention from younger women. They are always objectively attractive and closer to their age.

I always laugh at how jealous men get since kpop has taken off in the West. They’re youthful even if they’re in their late 20s or even 30s. They have nice faces, good skin, intact hairlines and toned bodies. It makes perfect sense that a young woman would be attracted to that...

I'm in my mid 20s but I think men and women are equally their most attractive in their early and mid 30s (with the caveat that the men still have all their hair).

What's weird is a lot of women have children in their 30s but they're still lumped into the hottie debate. Men are so pressed to find actual examples of men aging better than their wives that they have to point to new moms as evidence of women who "hit a wall". New moms are not supposed to be judged for worlds baddest hottie right now, the fuck is going on.

I fully agree with this. Leo Dicaprio is never gonna look as amazing as he did in Romeo and Juliet and Titanic and no amount of daddy issues culture will convince me otherwise. Meanwhile, Kate Winslet has gotten objectively more beautiful than she was in the 90s with more confidence in her body type, having an amazing stylist, incredible sense of grace etc.

I concur. I went back to OLD this week, mostly to laugh at the profiles. Once your mind is free of all that “older men are better/more mature” indoctrination, you notice all the hunks are in their 20s. I got some finnnnnnneeeeee matches. From now on I’m viewing men like they view us, just bodies that either I’m attracted to or not. If I’m not bowled over by his looks, I’m not going forward.

Personally I think men are hottest in their mid 20s and early 30s and women can continue being hot way into 50s.

I think the ‘men age like wine’ myth had to be created to keep us mentally interested because men suffer from male pattern baldness and if they’re short it’s pretty much game over. We had to mentally be taught to see their sexy wisdom and gray hairs and believe their wrinkles are hot to keep the world going around and to reproduce.

When you become a feminist and throw off that indoctrination, you realise most men are physically not as attractive as women. I mean even when we gain weight, it’s evenly distributed compared to men who get massive beer belly and weird chicken legs. They just don’t age well and so myths had to be created.

I've dated so many guys in their 40s who use Brad Pitt as a qualifier as to why they're going to look hot in their 50s. Lol. First off, Brad Pitt is not hot right now. If we saw him today without ever knowing his younger hotter self, there would be no way anyone would think he is hot. And secondly, these guys are not Brad Pitt. Absolutely agree. I’ve never been more attracted to men in their 30s or 40s than to men in their 20s (spoiler alert, I’m in my 20s). I would like to be attracted to a man in his 40s for instance when I am in my 40s myself.

Luckily, my bf’s father is aging great so I don’t have much concerns if I end up with my boyfriend.

I was literally discussing this 2 days ago with another single girlfriend. We are both 35 and we both tend to be attracted to men our own age, plus or minus 2 or 3 years. Over the last few years, we both find ourselves extending this range towards younger ages but not older, because most 40 year old men look like shit.

The societal belief that men peak later or age better than women or become more "charming" as they age is pure BS and one of the most exemplary cases of patriarchal narrative.

Before I say this, I want to clarify that I do not see looking young as an achievement. But men by and large are losing at their own game.

I’m in my early 20s, fit, comfortable, take care of myself, etc. Petite, athletic, saving most of what I make, etc. I was told by society that I needed to love dad bods (obese men) and stop trying to date up (just finding someone as educated, attentive and intentional as I am). Meanwhile...

Most men my age are completely clueless, floundering in life, totally dependent on their parents AND balding, rapidly gaining weight, and looking like they’re carrying twins with those beer bellies. I still own plenty of my clothes from 10+ years ago because my lifestyle is in check. They can stay losing.

It's funny because I'm close to turning 30 and never before have I had so much attention from men in their early 20s. For the record, I also look very young for my age (people frequently mistake me for a young girl) but I think men sense my maturity and it's like crack to them when it's in a young body. The younger men I know respect me and treat me really well. They respect my wisdom from my life experiences (I don't hide my age so they know I'm older). I've never dated people younger than me, but I wonder if I should be open to dating men 2-4 years younger than me since they seem respectful and physically look age appropriate for me. Most men my age look 7+ years older than me and like they haven't taken care of themselves at all...

When I was a teenager, I mentally scoffed at the notion that teenagers are most attractive : One look in the mirror and a few glances around the school hallways disproved that ! I thought women were most attractive 25-35 ; men maybe 28-38. I never thought men over 45 were attractive, and I just cringe thinking about my interactions with them from age 16-24: Because I thought they were old, I assumed THEY knew they were too old, and that any interest in me meant they were kindly grandfather types. And I acted accordingly, laughing off any attempts at flirting because I took for granted they were just joking. Damn !

Instead they squander it spinning plates and think they can settle down when they are old and dusty at 40 or 50. Going to sound like a female scrote here, but I whole-heartedly agree. I am most physically (not emotionally/mentally) attracted to men around the ages 22-24 and I'm 35. Yeah, I feel like a creep sometimes. But 25 is usually when the years of drinking start catching up with them and the hairline starts receding. I especially see this in my city since it's a big military town. Men get out of the military and think they can drink/eat the same stuff, not exercise, and still have the same body as when they were running 3+ miles a day.

At first I only filtered for women and everything looked pretty normal, but when I began seeing the men in their 30s I was blown away. I was shocked at what years of no working out, poor hygiene, and a lack of grooming did when they no longer had youth on their side. I mean, I’m going to disagree respectfully. I’ve personally always found men in their thirties to be the most attractive, even as a teenager.

Now it’s worth clarifying that attraction is personal and that age-gap relationships give me the heebie-jeebies. In my mind I always felt that I wouldn’t date this age cohort of men until I was in my late 20s to 30s. I have had many men in their 30s (and 40s and up) hit on me over the years and ask me out, and it’s just icky. Like I’m almost 25, but when a guy is 37 and I’m 19?...GROSS!

I have never found guys my age to be that attractive, and younger guys never appealed to me either. (Like Bieber? Never been my thing.) As I get older I’m more open to dating someone younger than me, but I digress. I’m just into men that look masculine. I LOVE (neat and tidy!!) facial hair, (beards and moustaches), although stubble is painful as hell lol. For two celebrity examples, Chris Evans is a conventionally attractive man, but without his beard or stache he does nothing for me. Sebastian Stan, also very good looking with facial hair, but without facial hair he looks like a baby to me! Different strokes for different folks and all that jazz!

I can appreciate the difference between celebrities and the average man who doesn’t properly care for himself. I’d argue that men in their 20s can get away with a lack of personal care, but by the time 35 rolls around its pretty obvious!

I agree, though perception takes a roll. For example, Henry Cavil was objectively better looking during parts of his 20’s, however, my attraction to him increased with his broadening roles and cosmetic choices. (Black leather and fantasy garb is my jam... ) Also, I’m just not attracted to men younger than myself because the immaturity issues and slew of other reasons.

So while objectively men may be more handsome when younger, their presence, personality, etc. can impact how much that handsomeness makes them attractive. I think some men DO age better, just not physically, as they grow into themselves and come into their own with confidence. Unfortunately, that’s the exception, not the rule, because most men aren’t interested in actual growth and are happy to plateaued at their peak in their 20’s.
