This is such a sad sad response from her. She left him for drug abuse and infidelity. Evan Rachel Wood was the child he was cheating with. Probably not the only one but the most significant. They divorced in 2007 and in 2007 ERW and Brian went public with their relationship.

I'm sure Dita wasn't abused, gaslighted or pressured to do disgusting, degrading things. She was 32 when they got married and had her own, thriving career. She was a queen. She left him 12 months later because he was an addict and cheater. He didn't pull the abuse on her cause he knew she wouldn't take it and would take him down over it.

The women that he did abuse were much much younger, struggling in hollywood, and ripe for exploitation. Which is why he abused them the way he did. He knew he COULD so he DID.

I'm coming the conclusion that men are inherently abusive and sadistic towards women. The tendency is always there, and if they think you will take their abuse, they will dish it out over and over again.

She was well-known and powerful, so he probably thought twice about unleashing his nastiest sides on her.

Abusers do this mainly to women when they think they can get away with it in one way or the other. Which he did for a long time.

I respect her right not to have her image or career tarnished because of him. Plus, cheating and drug abuse is not a healthy or non abusive relationship...I mean, if that's his healthiest relationship it says a lot.

I mean, it’s just a statement. We don’t know the truth behind it, she could have signed something not to disparage him, etc. So many women remain silent about past abuse because it is embarrassing, humiliating, etc etc. Even me - I go back and forth about my last ex....I prefer to not acknowledge the relationship and act like he doesn’t exist. Y’all are strangers so I discuss a bit freely, but friends don’t know anything at all. I’ve never even said his name to my therapist. I just refer to him as my ex. I’m not sure I’d be willing to talk about something that happened over ten years ago. Also I’m sure she’d be attacked for not expressing it sooner “preventing other women from experiencing abuse” since everyone loves to blame victims and not the accused.

I have seen so many women think they weren't abused because they agreed to choking and he pushed the line. Or because they agreed to one act, they think it was fine he did other things they didn't want. Or they blamed themselves for not saying 'no'.

I 100% do not believe she wasn't abused. And idk what their divorce was like but in Hollywood there are def divorce clauses saying "you don't say bad shit about me".

I think she's misguided/doesn't accept it or can't say anything.

It seems like she doesn’t want to be pulled into the backlash that a more accusatory stance invokes. She wants to maintain her image while not being pulled into the chaos. Thank god she’s not saying anything disparaging about his victims. She also probably feels extremely sorry for him and probably had a shitty mommy-type dynamic with him. He seems to enjoy making his partners feel pity. I’m sure she has a lot to sit with. Notice she never said he didn’t do anything to anyone else.

The entire interview is so UNCOMFORTABLE for Dita but a key moment is when asked how they met - MM said he “stalked her”. Then the interviewer said MM offered “his girlfriend’s breasts” to him. Dita says she’s used to it as he’s been offering her breasts to people for 3 years. Poor woman. What an unprofessional and disgusting interviewer who took part in this misogynistic behaviour. I don’t know how long this interview goes on for but Dita doesn’t speak much here, Manson seems to speak first and be ‘in charge’.

Dita’s in a pretty weird position, that she didn’t put herself in. I can see why she would want to make the statement she did— avoiding backlash from Manson fandom. We’ve seen the caliber of friends he attracts (Johnny Depp, Doug Stanhope), can you imagine how gross his anonymous supporters and champions would be online? Dita doesn’t need that energy directed at her just for marrying a cheating scrote back in the day.

She might also be ambivalent about full-throatedly supporting Evan, whom Manson began seeing while they still were married (or had begun ‘grooming’ prior to their marriage ending). The much-younger woman MY ex left me for did me a favour (the other woman is always doing you a favour), and I even worried for her a little for a time, but I don’t know what I’d feel like saying or doing about it if they broke up and it turned out he’d treated her the same as he had me. We would hope we’d be supportive, but I’m not sure that’s what we’d immediately leap to. I certainly wouldn’t run her down, but nor would I be quick to reach out. She’s really nothing to do with me in the first place, and the guy has long ceased to be relevant to any vector of my life. I devote no energy toward either of them after time and distance, perhaps Dita’s care-factor fuse burned out too. Perhaps that’s healthy, or on the way there.

Dita is being watched and judged for her reaction to a man’s criminal actions that took place well after she’d broken up with him and that is not sitting right with me. She has nothing to answer to or for, and yet people WILL insist on getting a ‘take’ and this statement is a cannily crafted shutdown.

That said, like others on this thread, I sense strong pickme energy emanating off Dita in waves with some hoity-toity ‘I’m better than THAT’ riding shotgun. Watch the interview of her and Manson on the Tom Green Show that thegoldenmirror linked to in another comment on this thread 😬😬😬 Giggling, going-along-to-get-along with her disrespectful boor of a husband. It’s hard to watch. I’m not a fan, her vibe depresses and ennervates me.

But... If she’s wiping her hands of the whole situation, refusing to get into the weeds about someone she left over a decade ago, it might actually signal a level-up on her part 🤷🏼‍♀️

tl:dr her statement seems to be I dumped his cheatin’ ass, I wasn’t friends with her so why would anyone think she should turn to me for succour, it was so long ago, why on earth does anyone think they can expect anything from me, leave me alone while I go back to making my coin.

According to the Cambridge dictionary , to incur means to "experience something, usually something unpleasant, as a result of actions you have taken", so she's implying they brought it on themselves. I feel like she is the definition of a pick me. (Let's be honest she's successful because of her objectification of her own body and old glamour)
