Even if he came home and was super appreciative and happy and all that, the problem is he’s living like this in the first place. Those clothes all over the floor, things in disarray, knowing his partner is coming over? Lack of respect for her, lack of self-care for himself, and an indication that this will likely continue to be an issue in the future. It’s not cute to have your girlfriend (or mom) picking up after you and doing chores that a functional adult should be able to handle and keep up with.

I wonder why men don’t appreciate these types of gestures. I remember I cleaned, tidied up and cooked for my ex before he got home and he was fuming because I didn’t put the vacuum cleaner back on the top shelf (it’s heavy and I’m small).
